According to the scenario planned for maximum publicity and for world-wide outpouring of many platitudes by capitalist leaders, Boris Yeltsin has resigned just hours before the start of the millennium.

This 20th Century best-known traitor to his people, to his Country and to the working class of the world, and the most hated leader by the Soviet people (whose popularity sank to only 3% amongst the people) is now a has-been, but not without billions of dollars that was stolen by him and also his "family", for a "rainy day" as December 31st, 1999 became!
His name is going to go down in history as a butcher of his people when he ordered the bombardment of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in Moscow, 1993 and for bringing the USSR to colony status and also the tragic internal civil strife.
Northstar Compass right from the very beginning of its publication pointed out what was in store for the Soviet Union by some of these traitors, opportunists and also "reformers", such as Khrushchev, Gorbachev, and Yeltsin, Yakovlev. Shevernadze, Krawchuk, Shushkewich and many other former CPSU members, who in actual fact were hidden enemies of the Soviet people.
How come Putin got the nod?
The absolute skullduggery, behind the scenes maneuvering, all prepared already 4 months ago with the blessings of the USA and Russian bourgeois regime and their helpers, produced the following - according to Associated Press, written by Mark Franchetti:
* An unprecedented deal was hammered out which stated that Yeltsin would step down in exchange for immunity for corruption. The deal was hammered out, not in the Russian parliament, but in a private Dacha outside of Moscow.
* For months both Yeltsin and his daughter Dyachenko were under investigation for corruption, money embezzlement, foreign investments and offshore money laundering deposits.
Yeltsin was granted the following:
- He is immune from any prosecution for the crimes committed during his 9 years in office.
- He cannot be detained, or arrested and his premises (many of them) cannot be searched.
- He cannot be interrogated or brought to trial or subjected to a body search.
- He is given a pension which is 75% of his wages.
- He is assigned a bodyguard at state's expense and also for all of his family, medical care, a state residence, a limousine and a large staff of aides, all paid for by the Soviet people.
- To add icing to the cake, Putin has agreed (also the backing of the government) to retain as advisors both Yeltsin and his daughter Dyachenko.
Just a Question?
How is it possible that the capitalist West has the inside dope on these unheard-of arrangements, while the Duma "loyal Opposition" of CPRF under Mr. Zyuganov seems to be oblivious? Unfortunately we know that these things could not have been arranged without the biggest "communist party' in the Russian Duma knowing about it and making a behind the scenes deal with Putin.
Even President Clinton of the USA could not get away with this crime. Even a bourgeois state would try someone as guilty as Yeltsin!
Where is the statement by the leadership of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation? The same CPRF that did not want to join a proposed United Front to fight the election on December 19, 1999 to the Russian Duma!
