On December 21 workers of at the world and continents honored the 120th Anniversary of the birth of J.V. Stalin. No matter whatever is said about him, his name and deeds are forever written in gold letters for all posterity. 0ver 46 years have gone by since his heart stopped beating. But different political parties, both from the right and from the left are still digging around the grave of this great man who ruled the first socialist state in the world. The poor and unfortunate pygmies who criticized and still criticize Stalin have gone from the earth and history has forgotten about them. But the forever burning flame is still burning towards socialism and communism...
In his figure the enemies of our Motherland saw a serious antagonist, filled with great talent and always a forward looking revolutionary. It is a historical fact that Hitler had a plan to liquidate Stalin before and during the Second World War. These great plans failed of course. But these plans were always on the front burner.
Winston Churchill had a mighty hatred for Stalin, but, nevertheless he stated that the Soviet people were lucky to have a leader such as Stalin.
We are not publishing Churchill's speech since we had it published before in NSC.
J.V. Stalin was praised by great and very dedicated communists, people who were devoted to their country and its people. In his time, Khrushchev demanded of the Soviet Marshal K.K. Rokosovsky to write an article "exposing Stalin". Marshal Rokossovsky replied:
'Comrade Stalin to me is a Saint!" Needless to say, the very next day Khrushchev banished Marshal Rokossovsky to "deserved retirement".
A well known Soviet writer Yuri Bondarev, appearing on December 21, 1998 in the daily "Tomorrow-Zavtra", wrote: " I am not a Stalinist, but I am a Stalinets! The word "Stalinist" was coined by people who were very bitter enemies of J.V. Stalin. I am a Stalinets -because I feel certain that I shall not be beaten in my devotion, that Stalin - he is a historical figure in the annals of history; there is no one that can come near him in stature and accomplishments. Not even Alexander of Macedonia, not the Kaiser or even USA's Roosevelt can be equal to Joseph Stalin...when I think of this great figure, I come to the conclusion that people like Stalin are born only once in a thousand years". (Workers-Farmers Pravda", #12, 1999)
Without doubt, to rehabilitate Stalin in the eyes of some people, is useless. We have to remember that the dismemberment of the Soviet Union started with anti-Stalinism! Anti-Stalinism fulfilled its role of undermining our belief in our ideals. Today, it is its aim to undermine and also liquidate all of the communist parties in the world. This is the main weapon of the world bourgeoisie in their total struggle for ruling the world. We must explain to all people, and mostly to the young generation, about the glorious path and the victories of the Soviet people in the realm of socialist and communist construction.
Only in 1945 did the most horrific world war with fascism end, and our country was in unbelievable ruins. But in the atmosphere of international intrigues and sabotage by imperialism in the economic and political spheres, we were rebuilding at an enormous pace our tremendously ruined Motherland. Already in 1948 the tempo and the gains of our recovery quickly reached the pre-war levels. In all spheres of production we gained momentum with 100% and sometimes even 200% in some sectors of our economy.
But today our economy is in ruin. By the end of 1990's Ukraine was in the first place in industrial and agricultural production per capita of population. The material and cultural level of our people, no matter who tries to obscure this fact , was very high. In the production of all grains, milk, sugar, and all other agricultural products, we were at the top with other Western developed capitalist countries.
For the last 10 years on our land there were no wars or even earthquakes. Everything seemed in order and in peace. But why are most of the factories and most enterprises standing still? Why is our production falling by twice or even three times in output? Why are our Ukrainian people on the verge of chaos and extreme poverty? Why has the present Mafia and corrupt elite erected a wall between themselves and the rest of the people? Why is this now allowed to happen? Because... over our Soviet Union there is a very dark cloud of Imperialism that gave also birth to Gorbachev-Yeltsin and Krawchuk, Kuchma and "perestroika".We must and we should remember that Stalin warned us of this "market economy," if it is allowed to happen. Just try and read Stalin's work, called: "Economic Problems of Socialism in the USSR." There you shall find everything that is pertinent and very, very prophetic. In this, the tragic moment for the Soviet people, we should now look back and analyze our path. We strongly believe that after night there always comes morning. This Kuchmaism in Ukraine, this is just a passing phase. But we must struggle for the coming daylight. The Red star that keeps on shining ever brightly, pointing the way to the future and out of the dark impasse that our Motherland finds itself in, and this shining star for the world working class is the star of Joseph Stalin. "We, yes we, are the children of Stalin," - wrote in his time the great Soviet Union's best writer Alexander Fadeev "The best in us, in our work was formed and cemented under the influence of the great personality of Stalin".
These thoughts I would like to end with the words of the Chairperson of the Inter-national Democratic Federation of Women (IDFW) Jenny Cotton: "Stalin gave the thought to humanity, to many millions of men and women, and he will always live in the hearts of all humanity".
