On holidays that we
observe here
OCTOBER, our birthday, stands out.
If workers would only surge forward
We'd show all what it's all about.
If only once again we'd hear it,
—Our slogans in a thunderous roar—
"All power to the working people
The bourgeois, bankers we abhor."
How all reasoning was deadened
Is really hard to comprehend;
What took years of hard construction
Bankers took all free in the end.
For them its banks, hotels and factories
Casinos, gardens and green grass;
For us its unemployment, slavery
With death staring at us through glass.
Remember former celebrations?
Adorned with flowers, finery?
We looked ahead with expectations,
We were a force, as strong as can be
While celebrating we did not notice
How water flowed out bit by bit;
How the people were all changing,
How they built a large snake pit.
How the Party all got mildewed,
Replacing the Bolshevik thought.
How the snouts began appearing,
High office for themselves begot.
All peoples' reasoning they deadened
With every poison that they know;
A noose around October tightened
By Judas "leader' Gorbachev.
Will people everywhere accept it?
Will be like cattle always been?
I'm sure there'll be one more upheaval:
A great--colossal--SEVENTEEN!!!

Gennady
Zyuganov is very happy that President Putin helped to push through the three pet
projects adopted in December of 2000. It was the Coat of Arms which is a feudal
Czarist sign; a bourgeois flag and the hymn with words that obliterate anything
that was Soviet.
Amongst the Communists in the Duma that voted for this sacrilegious act were 61 for, 14 abstained and only 12 against. Among the "Yes" votes was Gennady Zyuganov.
Among the many Communist parties in the former Soviet Union there is the Russian Communist Party-CPSU headed by its known leader A. Prigarin. In a very short form here are their main principals,
RCP-CPSU is against any exploitation of man by man, and against private ownership of the means of production.
RCP-CPSU is a party for a socialist revolution with the dictatorship of the proletariat.
RCP-CPSU is a party for genuine democracy
RCP-CPSU is a party for socialist internationalism.
RCP-CPSU is a party of atheistic orientation with policy of separation of the church from the state.
RCP-CPSU is a party of high moral and humanistic ideals.
RCP-CPSU is a party of scientific Marxism.
RCP-CPSU is part of the Communist movement in Russia, Soviet Union and the world. We are for unity of all the Communists, against sectarianism and opportunism of the Gorbachev kind.
Alexander Yakovlev, Father of "Perestroika"
Former
Ambassador to Canada, who was banished by Brezhnev, a CIA agent and the
architect of "destroika" which destroyed the USSR temporarily,
and with Gorbachev as his front man while he acted as the Grav Cardinal
in the background!
Yakovlev now at 77, is still figuring out how many people Stalin "killed'! By the latest figures he is up to 35,000,000 that were shot by Stalin! On top of that he figures there were another 12,000,000 that died in the Gulags! Then there are those that just somehow vanished and disappeared... let's say another eight million!
That makes it 49,000,000 people and this still does not count the over 25 million Soviet people that perished during Word War II.
If you add all those "deaths" together, the Soviet Union would not have existed now! Biologically it would be impossible to have now over 175,000,000 people!
The women who met Yakovlev recently on Red Square in Moscow asked him: "Aren't you in jail yet?"
Reuters reported
that the strike by Ukrainian workers right on the main street of Kiev, (Kreschatik)
set up a makeshift camp to protest the terrible working conditions and
non-payment of wages.
400 policemen attacked the strikers when they formed a human chain around their makeshift camp which they held more than several weeks.
Even European Union leaders criticized president Kuchma who brutally dispersed this workers protest.

According to the latest poll taken in Russia, the number of people nostalgic about the Soviet Union has increased with the passage of time. In 1992 over 69% of Russians confessed that they regretted deeply the breakup of the USSR. Since then the figure has risen by 10%, making it now way over 79%. Interestingly enough in 1992 the number of people who said that they did not regret the break up stood at 32% while in 2001 this has dropped to less than 15%.
The study showed also the fact that 72% of respondents would vote for the unification of USSR if it came to a vote. Significant is the fact that due to the constant media attacks against socialism and communists, 58% of people feel that it is unlikely that the resurrection of the USSR is possible at this time.
Although 10 years ago most Russians voted for the preservation of the USSR as a single entity state, 20% of the respondents today do not remember how they voted in that referendum. More than 40% of them do not remember its outcome. (It is a fact that over 85% at that time voted for the Soviet Union as a single state - according to results we have on file in NSC - Editor).
It is interesting that 63% of those people feel that the breakup of the Soviet Union ten years ago could have been averted. People who are over 50 years of age polled said it by over 82%. Those that are under 35 years of age said that the break up could not have been prevented - 32%.
Over 71% of Russians of all ages stated that today Russians fare worse as the result of the Soviet Union's collapse. Most of the people polled who stated that the break-up was positive are young people (23% who are employed in the private sector of the economy.)
The Foundation's sociologists who did the opinion poll noted that 76% of the respondents were willing to talk about the negative aspects of the break-up.
Yes, opinion polls are a good barometer of public opinion but, when most of the media is in the hands of the oligarchs, day in and day out for 10 years... the results are predictable. But in spite of all this brainwashing, the revolutionary upheaval is coming, and this will include also the younger generation!

This
newspaper is the organ of the Russian Party of Communists. Here we quote some
items of interest from it.
A new law was passed by the Lvov Ukrainian nationalist administration of Ukraine that forbids playing of music and songs in restaurants, cafes or even on the public transport or in theatres that is Russian in melody or in words.
If any public entity breaks this new edict, they will be liable to sanctions or fines.
We are living here like on another planet. We yearn for Russian newspapers, TV news and information. Here we are the professional engineers and workers at the Atomic Energy enterprise. We are shunned and discriminated against by the Latvians. We must be quiet in order to save our jobs. We are an island, with post office mail working badly, visits to our relatives in Russia too costly and letters have a habit of disappearing right in Latvia even before it crosses the border of Russia or other former Soviet republics.
We are scared that we shall be fingered as "disloyal to Latvia." Very high unemployment but we are tolerated because we are specialists in the Atomic industry here that Latvia cannot do without.
Your newspaper and all the Communists must save our youth. They do not know socialism, do not understand the heroic struggles and successes that socialism brought the people. Our children here are coming to act like "zombies." The schooling here is falsifying history. The books that our young people can read or obtain in Russian are only about anti-Stalinism, the Stalin Gulags etc. etc. I cannot live like this anymore!
The communist press must reach us and help us!

According to the Moscow Times, certainly not a pro-Communist or pro-socialist magazine and written up by Donald Jensen, they call Putin as they see him developing his stranglehold on Russian society.
![]() |
| Which part if the true PUTIN? |
"Although he is being promoted as reducing the clout of business oligarchs, they are doing as they did during Yeltsin's reign, when they dominated the government and at the same time enriched themselves.
Putin is making these powerful oligarchs less conspicuous but those that support him have prospered very well indeed. In fact, Putin and the oligarchs need each other and it is now very doubtful whether Putin is strong enough to sever the links between money and power, despite his claims to the contrary.
Although Putin has targeted publicly Gusinsky and Boris Berezovsky, he is keeping in mind that their media empire is needed by him... this is just show dressing that makes Putin looks as if he is fighting the "mob". He leaves untouched moguls such as Mikhail Khodorovsky, Potanin, Mikhail Freidman or even Aven... Why? Because all of these oligarchs are 100% behind Putin and not mavericks like Mr. Gusinsky and Mr. Berezovsky who are now citizens of three countries.
Putin cannot break the connection between money and government… they always feed on each other. Putin is pushing his new "pals", new Oligarchs like Derepaska, Chernoliu, Potanin and Khodorovsky who are now on an upswing... all of his pals from Leningrad whom he is grooming as his financial backers.
These moguls have tremendously influential lobbies in the government, with much clout and greasing the palms of many ministers and members of the Russian Duma.
These new oligarchs have close ties to all law enforcement agencies, the courts and security services. Basically they have learned very well from the Western model of the Military-Industrial complex.
Moreover, Putin needs the oligarchs. Gazprom, for instance, is a very powerful foreign-policy tool. Domestically, the oligarchs attract foreign investment, provide political and financial services for the Kremlin and promote docile stability by employing many thousands of paid cronies, all dependent on the oligarchs.
Since at present there is none too stable State Treasury, the Putin government has turned over Russia's lucrative arms export agency to oligarchy-controlled banks.
Thus, Putin has an agreement with these new financial moguls... he allows them to do their thing as long as they support him politically and financially. What is especially very striking about this (Putin's) approach is how much it resembles the laissez-faire approach of Boris Yeltsin, rather than the tough line expected of Putin and how the oligarchs media promoter that he is!
According to Agence France Presse of March 10,2001, here are just some of the moves in this regard:
* Russian Foreign Minister Igor lvanov traveled to Serbia and Macedonia in order to discuss "internal Balkan problems" and Kosovo and to urge Serbia to comply with NATO and EU requests for "give and take." It seems that the Albanian KLA fighters are biting the hands that feed them… wanting a "Greater Albania" no matter what their overseas masters think or issue PR statements to the world.
"EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana wants to discuss the Russian Kaliningrad territory which is sandwiched between EU candidates Poland and Lithuania. That is the only opening that former USSR and now Russia has into the Baltic Sea.

In the struggle
for the rebirth of the first Socialist State in the world, the media plays a
very important role. In part, in Ukraine there are these Bolshevik newspapers,
as the "Workers-Peasants Pravda" (Mukachevo), "Bolshevik"
(Odessa), "Burevestnik" (Sevastopol), "lskra" (Dnepropetrovsk)
and many others. Nevertheless an important part in coordination and work of all
the revolutionary and democratic movements and their struggle against
totalitarianism and reaction is being played by other newspapers also. In the
Volyn region of Ukraine this role is being played by such newspaper as the "Spravedlivost."
This newspaper already for 10 years has been fighting an uneven battle with
the regime for the rights of the working class, for truth and socialism. Its
first number was published on March 15, 1991, during the absolute peak of
anti-Communist hysteria in the country and the treachery of party-state
nomenclature.

| KUCHMA - KAPUT read the banners! From newspaper "Evening News" |
In the complete moral-political blackmail from the bourgeois government and nationalist strength, plus the economic pressures from the state, Spravedlivost carries on the struggle for the rights of the workers, who are now thrown away on the heap of despair and without any rights. Among the tasks at this time of economic turmoil and devastation, I feel that we could highlight the following: (a) the consolidation of all the left forces in the Volyn region of Ukraine and their fight against the totalitarian regime of president Kuchma, Yushenko and co., for the rebirth of our socialist Motherland; (b) defending the rights of the workers for a normal life, the guarantee of all social benefits, the liquidation by the present state of capitalist exploitation, the resurrection of free medical services for the population and schooling, for guaranteed work, rest and other benefits that people had under socialism; (c) freedom to propagate the "deals of socialism and communism which overall guarantees the best for the working class and the full development of each person's potential.
Yes, the political spectrum of this newspaper is very wide. This newspaper is not an official organ of any political party. Its pages are open to the Communist, Socialist, Peasant party and others… its policy is to be democratic and anti-ideological policy. But, in spite of all this, on its pages there appear more and more Bolshevik orientated articles. As an example, during this time of hysteria of rapid anti-communism, the newspaper promotes the purity of Marxism-Leninism, the rebirth of socialism and takes a very positive stand against anti-Stalinism. Many of the pseudo-revolutionary parties and movements try in their attitude to sidestep this question. At the same time, "Spravedlivost" takes a hard attitude towards the hooliganism of the present Ukrainian leaders, to which even the large Communist Party of Ukraine seems to step back from. In December of year 2000, being a weekly newspaper, it devoted its three issues to the birth of J.V. Stalin.

Ongoing demonstrations against Kuchma. |
J.V. Stalin is characterized as one of a few people who became the most important symbol of the XX Century. He is the supreme political and state leader of all time. History of the last century does not show or know of any other person, who for 30 years headed the largest country in the world, who guided it through all events, and who defeated all of its enemies. Under his guidance, J.V. Stalin led the party started by V.I. Lenin to many great victories, showing humanity the mighty potential of a socialist society. It ended the capitalist exploitation of man by man, poverty and unemployment. There was started a cultural revolution, putting the Soviet Union in the first place in universal literacy and intellect. Industrialization of the economy became complete. In 13 years of pre Second World War the USSR became an industrial giant, from the last place in Europe to a first place in the standard of development.
Of course, denial of anti-Stalinism is based not only on the personality of the leader but also on his knowledge. Most present leaders are just pygmies as compared to Stalin. But these dregs on society are the present grandchildren of traitors! There shall come a time soon - that our great Motherland will be reborn! Our people, who are now as yet fooled by the present leaders, shall wake and stand up to their full potential, and as they did before, shall take the path that we followed under the banner of our leader J.V. Stalin.
Workers of the world remember well the heroic uprising of the Paris Communards. They lit the torch of socialism over Paris in the XIX century. This flame burned for 70 days, showing the path to the future. In the XX century the salvo fired by the battleship "Aurora" announced the birth of a new era in Russia. During these 70 years the Soviet people took giant steps towards democracy and socialism. Now humanity has stepped into the XXI century. We are certain, that the dawn of socialism and communism, shall light the path towards socialism in this century for another 70 centuries! It should burn capitalism and its robbery into ashes, as if it never existed.
During these difficult times of social chaos and absolute misery the struggle of the people against the fog and devastation is gong on for the victory of the communist ideals all over the world. I would like to greet the whole collective of the Volyn newspaper "Spravedlivost" and its Editor Stepan S. Lukianchuk with this 10th Anniversary.
Our cause is correct - we shall be victorious!
The present Russian Flag and other symbols that were adopted by the present Russian regime, were voted upon unanimously by the present communist CPRF faction in the Russian Duma!
The CPRF leadership knows the unsavory history of the present Russian flag, they all grew up in the Soviet schooling system! Here is just a short synopsis of a great article by the AUCPB and their attitude to these bourgeois-reactionary-fascist symbols that now "represent" the Soviet people!
The present tri-color flag was used by the interventionist forces after the Great October Revolution, by the armies of Wrangel and during the Second World War it was given by Hitler himself to General Vlasov as his army flag. With this nationalist-fascist flag these fascists carried out and murdered their own people and also perpetrated terrible pogroms against the Jews. The same history is with the Russian Coat of Arms which was the Czars symbol of oppression.
The national hymn was cleverly pushed through the Duma by Putin with absolutely different words, eliminating the words Soviet or Stalin or anything that reminds the people of Socialism.
Just one question remains!
No matter how you look at it, no matter how you slice it, the adoption of the flag, coat of arms and new words to the hymn is a complete treacherous sell-out by the so-called "communist" CPRF. How can these leaders look into the eyes of Soviet war veterans and patriotic people or go to the War Memorials that are all over USSR where close to 27,000,000 are buried, who died in order that the symbols that were adopted by the present Duma "communists" would never again fly over the Soviet Motherland!
Justice will be done and those that were part of this treachery will pay the supreme price be they "left or right"!
Thousands protested against president Kuchma of Ukraine in March, demanding his resignation. Police charged the protesters with batons as demonstrators hurled bottles and Molotov cocktails at the police. There were demonstrations all over the city.
The organizers said that Kuchma had thousands of police dispersed all over the city, blocking off streets into the center of Kiev. For three months all over Ukraine there were constant protests against Kuchma who is accused of being involved in the murder of a very popular journalist, Georgy Gongadze, who was murdered and beheaded by the associates who are very close to president Kuchma. Georgy Gongadze was a constant major critic of Kuchma's regime and exposed many shady dealings of the present Kuchma government.
Thousands of police encircled the park where Kuchma was laying a wreath at the monument to Taras Shevchenko on the 187th anniversary of his birth. Demonstrators were beaten as they tried to go to the monument to Taras Shevchenko. The police used tear gas and charged the demonstrators in full riot gear. After Kuchma departed from the monument, the people swept the wreaths from the monument… stating that they want to "cleanse" the monument of dirt put there by president Kuchma!

Alexander Kozbolaev |
On December 1, 2000 the Moscow newspaper which calls itself "Moskovsky Komsomolets" (which is far from being a communist newspaper, rather its policy is that of any sensational tabloid, which serves the present regime directly and indirectly - Editor) had published this news "...in Chernigov the Ukrainian secret service had captured state terrorists... the 'diversionists' Vladimir Kovalenko, Valentin Bulakhov, Yuri Petrovski and Alexander Kozbolaev, who is the head of the Moscow Supreme Soviet of the USSR These 'underground fighters' had a developed plan to organize an armed uprising against the present Ukrainian government. They formed many fighting groups, printed leaflets, adopted demands and decrees of the forthcoming new government" as was reported bitterly by Leonid Fergach, top Security chief of Ukraine.
In Chernigov, Suma and Zaporozhe of Ukraine there immediately started a search and round-up of people, even gray-haired WWII veterans with chests full of Soviet medals and even survivors of the uprising in the Buchenwald death camp..."
The Editors of our newspaper want to give here a realistic explanation: Kozbolaev, who was confirmed as head by the Third Congress of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, is free. You must not make the mistake and think that we are the "Ongoing Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of USSR" headed by Sasha Umalatova. These are two distinctly different organizations. Our Supreme Soviet of USSR has as its aim to organize an armed struggle for the elimination of the international occupying powers from the complete territory of our Motherland, all the way from Brest to Vladivostok and from Murmansk to... The "Supreme Soviet" that is headed by Sasha Umalatova is nothing but just a window-dressing, selling of decorations, medals and certificates, in actual fact upholding the existence of the present regime.
A.G. Kozbolaev is free, in Russia and he is heading the Soviet movement. Will Russian authorities arrest Kozbolaev and charge him with plans to overthrow the present Kuchma regime - this will depend on the bourgeois laws makers and their courts. We feel that to overthrow the present regimes is absolutely imperative. We are now taking many different steps aimed at getting the working class closer to taking power.
We are planning to fight the Ukrainian bourgeoisie with arms in hand, for the liberation and for socialism as is being done now to remove all of the capitalist regimes which in many cases are nationalist and fascist in character, from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kirghizia and Russia. The people must take over the state also in Byelorussia as in Moldavia, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.
The charges by the present Ukrainian Kuchma regime against the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of USSR and its leader Alexander Kozbolaev, shows that the planned armed uprising in Ukraine is not without merit. "Not too many people take upon themselves to be a leader of the Supreme Soviet!" - say many of the skeptics. But is there at present amongst the many "revolutionary leaders" in the USSR who want to be the head of the Supreme Soviet, which all the present regimes are blaming for organizing many armed uprisings against the states? No, there are none of these "self-naming" volunteers who want to face jail cells or face death by the bullets of the present bourgeois regimes! To lead these movements, with tremendous risk to oneself of life or death, there don't come the vocal revolutionaries. The Supreme Soviet of USSR lives and is active. Who doesn't believe this - let them ask the state apparatus of the present Ukrainian regime. They will concur of our activities!
Today, some people who are trying to save the many Ukrainian political prisoners are uttering such phrases as they do in Russia. "They are not to blame in anything, as they did not want to change the present constitution... after all, Communists are not intent on overthrowing the nationalist-fascist regimes, and anyone that thinks otherwise, he is a provocateur of the secret services!"
How will our future generation look upon all of their fathers and grandfathers who didn't do anything to overthrow the present hated regimes? Ten hard years of "democratic" reforms did not give birth in the USSR to an armed underground. These people also tell us that "It will take many more years before that happens!"
We do not believe this at all!

On January 27-28, 2001, a Plenum of the Central Committee of the Russian Communist Workers Party (RCWP) was held in Moscow. It determined further steps to be undertaken for the implementation of the 10th Congress decisions of October 2000.
Appropriate orders and a plan of practical actions had been affirmed.
The structure of the Central Committee was given a much clearer meaning, so was the distribution of duties amongst the Central Committee members.
A Commission on Agrarian Questions has been formed inside the CC. Its task is to mobilize the farming sector workers for struggle in order to save large-scale enterprises, against private property and land trade, as is outlined in the Party's agrarian program. G.I. Kotliakov, a farming enterprise leader, was appointed as the chairman of this Commission.
The Plenum pointed out that in common actions against the government-induced version of the new labor code, which expresses bourgeois intentions to deprive the working people terminally of all their rights, the radical opposition managed to deflect in the Duma the Putin-Kasyanov government's onslaught for the time being. However, this does not give us the right to relax. A new wave of pressure is already being imposed on the Duma. The new stage of struggle must be developed and carried out by the Party along with other organizations of the working people under the banner of the struggle for the workers version of the labor code - Worker's Academy Fund's Project, introduced by former RCWP deputy V. Grigoriev, and later on supported by comrades T. Avalianin and O. Shein.
Following an agreement with the Russian Executive Committee of the Workers' Soviets Congress, the next Congress of the Workers Resistance Organizations will take place on April 14-15 in Moscow. The problems of the tactics for the labor movements' struggle will be addressed.
The Plenum also took a decision to open soon a scientific and practical in-absentia conference on the working people's movement and the problems in the Party press. The Conference Organizing Commission has been chosen.
In accordance with the 10th Congress' decision, the Plenum of CC RCWP has carefully considered the question on the condition of our Party work amongst the youth. In the Decision passed at the meeting, the Party organizations, while always agitating among the young people, are asked to pursue the key position - that the struggle for communism, against the domination of private property and exploitation, is of direct interest and the key objective of the youth in this 21st Century.
It was noted that while pseudo-patriotic, nationalist organizations and the CPRF would be diverting the youth from the class struggle towards ways of agreement and compromise with the present regime, so that until the RCWP branches learn to organize the youth struggles for all their basic and specific interests, the bourgeoisie will be daily poisoning the consciousness of the young people by its ideology, fascism, religious cults, drugs and propagation of violence.
Within the framework of the Plenum, a Session of the CC Commission for the work amongst the youth took place. It determined the concrete steps to unite the young people who support the RCWP, and to provide an informational coverage for them.
The Plenum also supported the Statement of the CC Secretariat titled "Let Him Go!" in response to Gennady Zyuganov's automatic declaration as the present Chairman of Union of Communist Parties-CPSU. In taking forward the Secretariat's assessment, the Plenum passed a Statement on the situation in all of the Communist Movements in Russia and CIS countries. It stresses that the left-wing forces are faced with a the need to unite the efforts and save the UCP-CPSU as a network for exchanging experiences and for also conducting actions by left-wing parties, having reflected upon the social-democratic pro-regime leadership of the CPRF in their attempts to "privatize" this network for their own use. Once again, the Plenum, called upon the parties in the Russian Communist Union (Roskomsoyuz) to unite. The Plenum decided that it was also necessary to support the UCP-CPSU published "Glasnost" newspaper and especially at this time when the "Pravda newspaper" that has just recently turned "Red" by bringing back the slogan "Workers of the World Unite!" which was earlier stripped off the masthead on Zyuganov's orders, is now going to be used by the CPRF social-democrats in their informational war against the true communists.
At that point the Plenum of the CC RCWP adjourned.

| V.N. Chechensev |
After reading your hateful letter, which is lacking in rudimentary thought or courtesy, we first of all decided to follow the old saying of poet Alexander Pushkin -"Do not argue with a fool!"
But, after serious thinking, we decided to change our minds for many reasons.
Your very insulting letter published in NSC has also insulted readers in many countries, even those that hardly know anything about Ukraine.
Ukraine is our dear Mother. We were all born there, we were schooled there, we speak its language and use its culture. Even today during these terrible times, our people, our relatives and families live there - full-blooded Ukrainians.
But you, my "dear anonymous," nothing is known about you. What feeds your uncontrollable hate towards everything that is progressive: is it class hatred or incompetence, or not knowing the history of Ukraine, without which you cannot foresee its future.
From where did your rage and hate towards Russian people come? Do you know that until the 15th Century on the territory of present Ukraine there were no national separations - all of the people called themselves and were known far and wide as Rusichi (Russians)?
The historical fate that had split the Slavic people living on the territory of Kiev Rus was tied in to the on-going and bitter struggles against many foreign occupiers, feudal lords and conquerors. History is full of heroic struggles and dedicated leaders who defended Kiev Rus from foreign armies and occupation.
The unification of Ukraine with Russia took place on January 8. 1654. But of course the Russian Czars, as all monarchy and reactionary forces, tried to hamper this unity by all possible means, but the Russian people and its intelligencia rose up to defend these Slavic brothers, these Ukrainians (Small Russians).
Russian and Ukrainian people joined together in many actions against the ruling bourgeoisie and autocracy. Do you know that the first workers organization was organized in Odessa in 1875, called "South Russian Union of Workers?"
There are countless heroes, patriots who defended the Motherland, which included Ukrainians also. The 110 million people is the Russian Motherland.
Think about these words, Mr. Anonymous. Are you going to stop people who are heroes and who talk on behalf of the Motherland like the son of the peasant from Tavrija, (Ukraine) from speaking on behalf of the Motherland, the mother to Ukrainians and also Russians?
After the Great October Revolution in 1917 the fate of Ukrainian people changed when on December of 1917 Ukraine became independent and then near the end of December 1917 there was formed the First Ukrainian Soviet Government.
In 1922 the interests of each nation demanded unity of purpose and development. Then in December of 1922 there took place the All Ukrainian Congress of Soviets, which appealed to all of the brotherly peoples, to workers and peasants of Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia to form the Soviet Union. On December 30, 1922 there was formed the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
From the first day of the Great Patriotic War, an overwhelming majority of the Ukrainian people joined the life and death struggle against German fascism. Of course there was a section of Ukrainians, mostly from Western part of Ukraine which was ruled for scores of years by Poland –from among whom there arose types like Stepan Bandera and others who joined Hitler with his murderous marauders and did despicable deeds against their own people, in the service of fascism.
My anonymous friend: Do you know that over 1,7000 Ukrainian patriots received the highest medals for brave deeds from the government of the USSR? Do you realize that because of the bravery of Ukrainians in defending these cities, they became known as Hero Cities, such as Kiev, Odessa, Sevastopol and Kerch?
The brotherly help of the Russian people aided in rebuilding the devastated industry, farms and other complexes after the war. Ukraine became a member of the United Nations.
The dismemberment of the USSR now has become a colossal tragedy for Ukraine. More than 80% of the people are on the verge of being paupers and at the mercy of IMF and NATO. But our Motherland is also struggling and fighting back. Do not be upset "my anonymous friend"! Your wishes are never going to be realized... for they are laughable and tragic.

P.S. According to a survey taken in December of 2000 by the Moscow Humanitarian-Social Academy, to the question: "Are you for the unity of Russia, Ukraine and Byelorussia or against?" Over 53% of those that voted said "Yes", according to Pravda newspaper of January 11,2001.
If you Mr. Anonymous do care about the thoughts of the Ukrainian people, these facts should bring you to your senses.
"Pravda" newspaper of February 27, 2001 published a long article of a Statement by the CC CPRF from which we have excerpted the following.
The CC of CPRF criticizes Putin's governmental policies in regard to the budget.
A large-scale and purposeful annihilation of all the scientific and industrial potential of Russia is going on which will allow the final sale of all state property. During the last year and a half 13 thousand enterprises were liquidated. Production of crude oil is growing, while peasants have no fuel for any of the agricultural work. CPRF insists in the Russian Duma that adoption of new labor laws would hand the land over to overseas tycoons and turn the peasants into their hired work force. The CPRF believes that this government by staying in power is ruinous to the country. The CPRF faction in the Duma started the process of no confidence in the present Putin government.
Pravda article devoted one whole page to letters from readers who are bitterly complaining about the present government and its policies. One of the readers wrote that under Soviet power in Nizhni Novgorod not a single thief visited his home, even the apples in the orchard were not touched. But when Yeltsin came to power and now Putin's "freedom" he was robbed seven times already, but these thieves are never caught. Even though there are 94 policemen in his district, while during Soviet times there were not even 36 militiamen... now there is no law or order.
In a news item from Moscow, published by the Boston Globe, USA... this can only happen in capitalist Putin's Russia!
Thousands of Russian Orthodox priests, monks and believers are refusing to accept the government's new taxpayer identification numbers, claiming that the bar code on the application form contains the mark of the Antichrist.
The uproar has thrown a monkey wrench into the Kremlin's plan to stem the country's rampant tax evasion by issuing each Russian citizen a computer-generated taxpayer ID.
Priests have been telling parishioners that they risk eternal damnation if they apply for the identification numbers.
Petitions protesting the IDs have sprung up across all of Russia's nine time zones. Monks have threatened to run off into the woods.
Orthodox opponents say the devil is in the details. They see in the stripes the number 666 - the mark of the beast that is described in the New Testament book of Revelations.
COMMENT
It certainly would do the Russian people good if all of these Monks did run off into the woods and never come back!
