The social-political movement "Workers Russia", CPSU (Lenin-Stalin) and the newspaper "Molniya", announce without question that we do support the World Congress of Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People to be held in Toronto from September 21 to 23, 2001 and we are dedicated to send an elected delegation to this important event.
Without question, the World Congress in Toronto will confirm and give recognition and thanks to the journal "Northstar Compass", to its Chief Editor Michael Lucas, the Organizing Committee for an International Council for their constant and heroic struggle in defense of the USSR during the last 10 years of hard struggles.
After the anti-Soviet revolution, perpetrated by the Gorbachev-Yeltsin band in 1991, to every sober-minded person it became clear that the liquidation of the first ever in the world of workers and peasants government – it is without doubt an attempt to set up a "new world order", subservient culturally, religiously, nationally to the values of world capital headed by US imperialism. With the temporary demise of the USSR world civilization lost the perspective of human learned and peaceful development. Globalization in order to save and preserve the profits of worlds banks is devastating whole nations and peoples who are being made slaves economically and morally, putting the whole of mankind in danger of an irrational, quicker exploitation and rape of the natural resources of our planet and self-liquidation. After the dismemberment of the USSR the apologists of the "new world order" are not able or capable of coming to grips or solving even one global problem. Wars did not cease. Terror and also force have become a daily occurrence internationally.
Economic hardships, unemployment are facts of life. The world has now seen a tremendous growth of poor people, unemployed and with no roofs over their heads. Thousands of children on this planet die due to lack of basic medicines, costing less than half a dollar. Narcotics is devastating young people as if by a world crematorium...
The Soviet Union was a strong barricade to world reaction, its liquidation was the biggest crime of the 20th century. It is a fact that these same traitors have gone all out to promise the world that it is impossible for the Soviet Union to be resurrected again. This theme was always supported and upheld by all of the presidents of the USA: Reagan, Bush (elder) and Clinton. In unison they were supported by the anti-Communists, the likes of Albright, Thatcher, Kohl, Brezhinsky, Pinochet. In the snake choir of these gravediggers of the USSR was Gorbachev, drunkenly talking through his nose was also Yeltsin. Today Bush, the younger, is leading his party, as is Schroeder, Blair. To these old choir members, new voices are being added inside NATO from the newly "liberated" countries of Eastern Europe. For great shame to the Soviet communists, amongst some of its leaders, we find quite a few that want to help these gravediggers of the USSR, and thus making it easier to paralyze the wishes of Soviet people to utilize all forms of struggle for a rebirth of our socialist Motherland.
What kind of manhood, dedication and effort of constant struggles by the activists of the Canada-USSR Association or now the Canadian Friends of Soviet People was necessary by people like Michael Lucas, Ray Stevenson, Helen Lucas, Steve Sajban, George Hess, Adelard Paquin and many other comrades, who right after the 1991 tragedy in the USSR, the well-known monthly journal called "Northstar Compass" started to shake the walls of capitalism right in the heart of imperialism. Yes, supporting this "Northstar Compass" journal were all progressive forces of the world, and in the first place – sympathizers of the working class of Canada, defending the long traditions of dedicated solidarity with Soviet people during the Second World War and the tradition of the legendary communists of 1918 who had established the "Hands Off Russia Committee." But, nevertheless, in order to start the publication of the journal "Northstar Compass," it had to start from zero. Former CPC party bosses, who just yesterday bowed their heads to uphold proletarian internationalism, together with the "top people of culture" of the USSR who so much loved to travel abroad on trips to Canada at the invitation of the Canada-USSR Association, sold out the USSR and abandoned their Canadian friends! In 1991 the Canadian Communist Party was paralyzed by the poison of revisionism injected into their brains by this damned anti-Sovieteer former Ambassador to Canada and then member of Politburo of CC CPSU the Gray Cardinal of perestroika Alexander Yakovlev. By sheer falseness in all of the media, coming from the dismemberment of the USSR, and by lying and vicious attacks, he attacked in the Russian press Michael Lucas the Editor and also Publisher of "Northstar Compass" which was gathering information on the upsurge of a growing struggle against these agents of influence and the struggle of Soviet people against the US new world order. Thanks to the journal 'Northstar Compass," published in the English language and read in 80 countries, the world received the truth about the struggles of Soviet people. "Molniya" is proud of the fact that it, together with scores of other Communist and workers newspapers being published in the Soviet republics, became the supplier of much information for "Northstar Compass", and many of our articles were translated and published in '"NSC."
We think that the World Congress of Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People in Toronto, Canada should learn from the priceless knowledge of "Northstar Compass," support it organizationally and materially in order to make this journal into a mighty informational center of solidarity with the struggles of Soviet people for the resurrection of its motherland – the USSR. Such a path does not diminish, but makes stronger the solidarity of all the struggles in Latin America, Africa, Asia, the activation of freedom for political prisoners in Turkey, USA, Kazakhstan, Latvia and Russia. For Soviet people living under the aegis of informational terror, the truthful information on the Intifada in Palestine, about the barricades in south Korea, about the rebellion in Colombia, Mexico – this is the flowing river of truth, carrying the truth that we are not alone, that our cause is correct, the enemy shall be defeated and victory shall be ours.
We are certain of this, that the World Congress of Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People will bring up the prestige of "Northstar Compass" to a greater height. In today's Russia, as an example, in the breach of the International Convention of the rights of man, that no one can be forced to abandon his or her citizenship against their will, the present regimes are taking away passports of the citizens of the USSR, thus eliminating them as Soviet citizens. Soon they will stop us to even speak in Russian, to carry Russian names, leaving us with only the individual tax number.
We are going to fight in order to remain and carry on our Russian names and we appeal to all peoples of the world to show us solidarity in our struggles. We are certain, the World Congress in Toronto will be on our side. It is necessary to think seriously as to how to bring full time professional workers to "Northstar Compass" of Communist journalists, writing in Spanish, French, Arabic, then after to come up with a concrete base in order to publish regularly in different languages. During the course of discussions at the World Congress in Toronto, we are going to propose a motion to gather finances for a Soviet Radio Station and television based on international basis, in order to gather around this idea known progressive figures of the arts and culture from all the continents, holding of rallies, festivals, marches across all Soviet republics and other countries.
We are optimists, but we feel it is our duty to remind the participants of this World Congress not to be overcome with euphoria. We have only a short time and funds, to let the tribune of this important World Congress become a theatrical stage for the political tourists and windbags. For the sake of the rebirth of the USSR, for the sake of our common struggle, we are ready to dedicate ourselves to the painstaking at this moment unknown work. On September 21-22-23 in Toronto we want to support and make stronger that, what was already accomplished by others for the solidarity with Soviet people, and together to take one more giant step on this hard road to our common victory.
