Discussion
of the World CongressAll India Anti-Imperialist Forum and
Socialist Unity Centre of India Central Committee
Dear Comrades
Comrade Heikki of Kominform, Finland let us know about the World Congress. We wholeheartedly support the cause for which the Congress is being convened. In the present-day world, since the counter-revolution in the erstwhile Soviet Union and all the People's Republics of Eastern Europe, imperialism has gone on and is launching a ruthless onslaught on the working class and on the sovereignty of nations who are refusing to toe the line. It is time for all those who believe in socialism and in the ideology of Marxism-Leninism to close ranks and unitedly fight the imperialist menace. The need of the hour is to forge a broad unity of anti-imperialist forces in all countries, with the communists as the core.
The effort to bring together the progressive socialist forces under the platform of an International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People is a step in the right direction and we pledge our support to this cause.
We shall try to send a representative to the World Congress in Toronto, but as always finances remain a problem. We shall also contact like-minded organizations in India to enlist their support and request them to add their signatures to the call.
With revolutionary greetings

Dear comrades:
Unfortunately, because of the lack of economical resources we have no possibility to send our delegates to the World Congress in Toronto.
We are sure that this World Congress will unite all the parties and movements in the world in the struggle for a socialist future for mankind. Also, it will bring new ideological weapons against world capitalism, neo-liberalism and globalization.
We wish all the best for the Congress and hope that you will send us all the Congress documents after this Congress.
There is no other future mankind but socialism!

Dear Comrades:
We are living through many problems trying to gather the finances from any sponsors we can in order to send a delegate to the Congress since we know that what you comrades are trying to accomplish will go down in history.
We discussed the Congress since time when you planned to hold it in Minsk. Your letter and request to hold the Congress in Minsk was given to President Lukashenko but did not receive a favourable reply.
But I am not giving up this quest for finances in order to be present with all the other delegates at this Congress.
From the bottom of our hearts we send you our best wishes and tell you that Northstar Compass is more influential then probably you comrades realize. This defence of all the Soviet people shall not be forgotten by the Byelorussian people and their desire for the resurrection of the Soviet Union.
Long live the friendship between Soviet people and progressive mankind.

Dear readers:
We have a lot of basics in common. We remember and respect the fact that under the brilliant leadership of Joseph Stalin the Soviet Union practically single handedly defeated Hitler. Almost ninety per cent of all the military fatalities sustained by Hitler's Nazi hordes in World War II were rendered by the Soviets, leaving but ten per cent for all the other "allies." Many Western war veterans were saved by the defeat of the fascists by the Soviet Red Army.
We are also enthusiastic about the restoration of the USSR since its collapse had practically collapsed most of the left movement worldwide. Philosophically there would be no understanding of even pre-Leninist works, Marx and Engels, without the Soviet press and its publishing of all their works in many languages of the world.
At the World Congress which I shall attend I will try to bring the following question to discussion: "How does religion differ in Fidel Castro's Socialist Cuba compared to Stalin's Socialist Soviet Union?"
Dr. William Bunge
We shall let the participants of the Congress discuss this question.

Dear comrades:
Your invitation to our movement "Council of Workers of Leningrad" and the newspaper "Proletarskaya Gazeta" is much appreciated, but due to our financial situation we are not able to send even one delegate. We support your efforts and we are with you.
We are informing you that the newspaper called "Arguments and Counterarguments" is no longer being published because it was unable to pay the rising printing costs. The Editorial staff of this newspaper has joined us at the newspaper "Proletarskaya Gazeta. With communist greetings

We received your letter that invited our attendance at the World Congress of Solidarity with Soviet People. We affirm with outmost pleasure our desire to attend such a Congress, because we do know with revolutionary consciousness that a temporary burial alive of the socialist experiment and also the temporary collapse of the socialist states caused us, the fighters for national liberation and national emancipation, the greatest of damage.
What has really distinguished our struggle in the Arab national liberation movement has been the fact that we daily confront Zionist aggression upon us in addition to imperialist aggression. We are certain that you have been moved by the news and events of aggression that the Arab people of Palestine daily face at the hands of the extremist Zionists, the rulers of the Zionist entity – Israel.
Comrades! In spite of the fact that our homeland, Iraq, is a rich country that owns a third of the world's stored reserves of oil and three fourths of this oil reserve lies buried under the earth and the waters of the Arab homeland – Imperialist and Zionist aggression and America arrogating to itself the world leadership, have prevented us from enjoying all of these abundant resources and have obstructed the completion of our national liberation and also our national emancipation. They have obstructed us from succeeding in rising to complete the cause of social and democratic transformation of our society.
Comrades! We know that it will be beneficial for us to attend this World Congress, and indeed to also meet with the Arab communities living in the United States and Canada and the opportunity to clarify the image of Zionist-Imperialist aggression upon our homeland Iraq and our Arab nation as part and parcel of our revolutionary struggles as it is in your progressive concerns.
We shall wait for your official invitation. Similarly, we are ready to receive you comrade Lucas as our dear guest in Baghdad and all those comrades that might accompany you. In this way, you will be able to familiarize yourselves with the effects of the aggression and also integrate yourself with the patriotic experience of our people in their resistance to the Imperialist-Zionist aggression, and their persistence in the struggle, here in the theatre of operations among the masses, its demands and the daily reality.
Please accept our Communist greetings.

Dear comrades:
Received the invitation to send a delegate the World Congress and we sincerely thank you, but unfortunately I or my comrades cannot attend due to financial problems.
Nevertheless we do read with great attention the information contained in NSC on the preparations for this important event, And we sincerely feel that this event is of outmost importance internationally in the struggle for the unity of the communist and workers parties in the socialist ideals. We feel that in order to further strengthen the ideals of the proletariat, during these times when international capitalist economic might Is now trying to globalize the entire world for their own needs by utilizing different methods of divide and rule – like religion, race, and undermining and buying whole nations and eliminating national solidarity of the class struggles... the question of international solidarity of the world's working class should be put in first place.
The lesson of class struggle during the last ten years supports our contention (the dismemberment of the USSR and of Eastern Europe, the break up and defeat of some revolutionary movements in Latin America, Asia and Africa). The situation is getting more complicated with the appearance and support by right forces of opportunism-revisionism and more and more appearance of dogmatism in the leadership of the majority of communist and workers parties.
In the present critical situation the solidarity in the communist and workers parties is only possible if they will unite not only organizationally, but in common ideals or ideology. Here it is imperative that the communist and workers parties return back to the positions of dialectical materialism, to those tendencies that were scientifically researched by the founders of Marxism – Karl Marx, Frederick Engels and their pupils, V.I. Lenin and J.V. Stalin.
Therefore the break up and splitting up of the revolutionary, communist and pseudo-revolutionary opportunistic elements that are in the communist movements is necessary in order to give authority and influence to the communist parties over the working class of the world. We feel that your World Congress in Toronto will dwell into these questions and arrive at the correct analytical results.
Regarding the brotherly help to the Soviet people in their struggle for the resurrection of Socialism. We feel, that the best help in this question can only be the return of all communist and workers parties in the world – and this in particular means in the most developed countries – to the position of the orthodox Marxism and to influence the whole revolutionary world movement likewise. In reply to the Imperialist "Globalization" the working class of the world should reply with class proletarian solidarity and the most decisive battles for socialism.
Of course during the short time before the World Congress takes place, it is impossible to decide these questions – this is meant for you to urge the Congress participants to take the first steps towards these goals.
Not having the opportunity to attend this Congress, we state that the representatives at the Congress from the All Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks (AUCPB), especially the representatives from our Central Committee, will take part in these discussions. We fully support them.
We wish you success in your noble effort that you undertook upon yourself to try and unite forces for the resurrection of the Soviet Union and Socialism and to unite forces of the world for the struggle against imperialism, "Globalization", the cleansing of all of the communist and labour movements from nasty revisionism and to turn the world socialist and revolutionary movements towards socialism and progress.
With Communist greetings

Dear comrades;
Communist greetings from the Union of Polish Communists called "Proletariat." Best wishes to the upcoming World Congress and many successes in the struggles against capitalism and the struggle for socialism.
We thank you for your systematic sending us the Northstar Compass publication. It is a very interesting publication, well edited and laid-out and containing valuable information about the struggles against capitalism. Some of the facts that are published in NSC, plus your commentary and the news are used by all of our comrades in their ongoing public agitation work amongst the people. Please accept our sincere congratulations.
We are sending you our two latest publications for your perusal. The Discussion Bulletin is dedicated to the upcoming Polish elections on September 23rd of this year. A dramatic situation is coming to Poland. Poland is on the brink of economic disaster. Our Party is organizing many protests against this crisis.
That is why the present bourgeois government of Poland is on a campaign to discredit our party and is bent on the liquidation of our Communist Party. In the last while it has thrown out our Appeal against this unlawful act. We have only one more alternative and that is to appeal to the Supreme Court of Poland. This is democracy for the capitalist and exploiter.
We are asking you comrades to make this situation known and to take a stand in order to help prevent our party from being made illegal. Therefore due to the present situation we might not be able to send a delegate to the World Congress. But we are in solidarity with you.

On behalf of all the comrades associated with the revolutionary socialist magazine, MARXIST VIEW, I hereby like to convey my best wishes to the forthcoming World Congress for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People to be a great success.

Dear comrades:
We thank you sincerely for the invitation to attend the World Congress. We received your invitation on June 25 and at that time I was attending an international conference in Athens, Greece. We support your idea of holding such an important World Congress, its beneficial and historical meaning.
The Union of Communists of Ukraine and the Editorial Board of the international journal 'Contemporary Marxism" right from the start of the counterrevolution announced Its aim... the struggle for the rebirth of the first workers state in the world – the USSR.
Our financial situation at the moment makes it impossible to send a delegation to the Congress. We are going to report on the Congress in our journal.
We wish all you Comrades success! With communist greetings,

Congress Wishes From Nepal
Dear comrades:
We thank you sincerely for the invitation to attend the World Congress and also for the regular sending of the Northstar Compass journal.
The current political situation In Nepal is much more complicated and confusing, due to the massacre of the whole number of the royal family in the palace last June 1. There is a distinct smell of a foreign hand in this massacre. Nine left-wing parties of Nepal are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala. The struggle is going on and the Parliament is in constant session
Therefore we are very sorry that we shall not be able to participate at the Congress.
We wish you comrades great success ands we fully support this world gathering.
We also want to express our solidarity and we thank you for organizing this important World Congress since it is our internationalist duty to do so!

Dear friends:
The Belgian Friendship Society was very active for a few more years after the dissolution of the USSR, but due to many problems it ceased its activities among some sections here and only the Flemish speaking organization has survived.
We do publish a monthly journal called "Contact" and the majority of our activities are as examples herein:
As an organization we would like to join the International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People.

We have sent you the information regarding the World Congress and we hope that you shall be able to send a delegation.

Dear friends:
Although I shall not be able to attend the World Congress, I do send my best wishes for its success.
Enclosed is an article which I just finished called "On Hegemonism." I feel that this is a theoretical step forward and is built on Lenin's "Imperialism" but it deals with a new phenomenon - that is, the rise of one single capitalist power as against the oligopoly of powers which still existed at the time when Lenin wrote in 1916-1917.
It would be beneficial, in my estimation, if the previous document that was sent you called "Moribund Capitalism" and also this "Hegemonism" was available to all of the delegates present. I consider this of outmost importance.
Wishing all the success to the gathered delegates.
