NSC has written about this question before and the World Congress adopted a Resolution on this question that is published here. Unfortunately there are many ideas and outlooks on the young people that are now in jail as political prisoners for their actions in reconstructing the USSR and socialism. They are even called provocateurs and agents of the present state.
There
are Appeals made to the Attorney General of Russia and to the regional
governments and prosecutors, demanding their freedom or at least, new trials and
the opportunity of visits, which in many cases is denied them.
As an example, the political prisoner Igor Gubkin, Editor of the newspaper Soviet of Peoples Deputies is not allowed to have a visit from his wife and children. There are meetings being held, pickets and other actions to free all the political prisoners who are in jail in Russia and in other former Soviet republics.
Whether we all agree on their actions or not, these are mainly young people who want to resurrect the Soviet Union, Socialism and are struggling for that according to their understanding, wrong, right or indifferent… but these political prisoners are dedicated young Soviet people who want action and not the parliamentary games that some of the Communist parties are promoting.
Take a look at these young faces of just a few of the political prisoners held in jail in Russia. From the newspaper "Soviet of Workers Deputies".
Dear readers:
There are many political prisoners all over the world who are struggling against oppression and fascism. The World Congress Resolution, "Free All of the Political Prisoners – Fighters For Socialism" was adopted and was published last year in NSC. Although it did not name all of the political prisoners, the aim is for all of us and also the organizations that we belong to to send letters of protests to governments in order to gain freedom for these patriots.
In the former Soviet Union there is now formed a very active Defense Committee which comprises representatives from all the left-wing parties; they publish an extensive Bulletin that gives names, biographies and trial documents. Unfortunately it is in Russian only. It is called Bulletin of the Committee for the Defense of Political Prisoners fighting for Socialism." In Turkey, Spain, South America, Russia, Ukraine and other former Soviet republics, plus the Middle East is where the struggles are raging on and the authorities are cruel in their punishment of these patriots.

Let us help these patriots by writing letters to our governments, demanding that they use their influence to gain freedom for these heroes!
Spanish political prisoner Manuel Perez Martinez, Secretary General of the Partido Comunista de España (reconstituido) and President Slobodan Milosevic of Yugoslavia are only two world known leaders whom reactionary forces tied to NATO are holding as political prisoners.
In future issues of NSC we shall keep a tab on the progress of their appeals and actions.
