In the November NSC we touched briefly on the Moscow tragedy as we received information from official and friends of NSC. Now it seems that there are many versions of this bloody tragedy, all, promoted and circulated by the Putin regime. Here is an account which gives a much different slant on the situation.
On October 23rd at a Moscow theatre where a musical was being performed, at the beginning of the second act, there was a group of Chechen armed people took the stage, shot twice at the ceiling and said that they will hold the over 700 people hostage. The drama was 58 hours long.
There were 52-armed Chechens, who included 19 women. It is now said that these Chechens were working in remodeling this theatre for many months already and, that they brought into the theatre over 130 kilograms of dynamite, plus grenades, pistols and automatic weapons, without anyone noticing this ongoing drama! They acted much differently then other hostage taking episodes where the hostages were usually killed. Besides acting much more humane, they let go all of the children younger than 12 years, sick people, pregnant women – altogether they let out 176 people.
The feeling is that their action was tied into the Chechen Conference which was being held at the same time in Denmark. The demand was that Russia take their army out of Chechnya and they (the Chechens) said that they do not control this Moscow situation, it seems that there orders came from outside the theatre. This was planned to have a propaganda effect and, upon victory and their return to Chechnya they would be looked upon as heroes. The question has to be asked as to why they did not blow up the building and themselves, since there was plenty of time to do this?
Of the Chechen fighters only three remained alive, none were wounded, the rest were all killed. This means that the Russian special forces shot all of them, whether they were giving themselves up or not. By using this poison nerve gas, the Russian troops killed 120 people, besides hundreds in hospitals.
This episode was not the only one in the never-ending war in Chechnya. Before, this beautiful part of ex-USSR had Russians, Ukrainians, Chechens, Greeks and many other nationalities live in peace and harmony.
With the dismemberment of USSR under the tutelage of Yeltsin, and now of Putin, there started divisions in Chechnya with many war lords holding different parts of the country and the legally elected Dudaev was forced out and now controls only Grozny and some sections of mountains. Dudaev then made agreements with the reactionary Muslim regimes and the Chechen people are between two hells, from Russian and Chechen oligarch sides. The terrible bombardment and devastation of Grozny and other cities by the now Putin’s soldiers, causes more and more volunteers to come to the side of Dudaev. The Chechen nationalist teachings are akin to German Nazism and ethnic race cleansing. The results were not only tragic but horrific! This then caused the Russian soldiers to also have or give no mercy.
The youth of Chechnya, with no work available or to make an honest living, receive sums of money for any terrorist act, robbing their own people and attacking the nearly territories of Russia. In Russia, the newly rich oligarchs, civil servants, even some Russian army officers are involved hand-in-hand with these Chechen warlord gangs and selling every thing available from Russian arsenal, including the most sophisticated and newly produced arms, rockets, missiles, etc.
Besides this, some Russian military personnel, from lowly sergeants to even Generals, sell them also operational secrets, thus preventing the Russian offensives to clear out the bandits and bring an end to this ongoing war.
The present regime of Russia and foreign Western powers are not interested in bringing an end to the Chechen conflict, there’s too much money being made and the future oil reserves are there for the taking.
Both sides of this conflict are promoting beastly nationalism, some openly, others through the media and films in Russia, which portray all Chechens as wild animals.
Only the resurrection of the Soviet Union and Socialism will bring an end to this bloodletting!
Some Questions Asked From Moscow By O. Yasinsky
* Who was responsible in the first minutes of attack upon the theatre by Russian Special Forces to warn the doctors about this nerve gas to be used? This person should be tried as a criminal, The relatives of those dead will find out his name! How can he sleep at night? Doesn’t he have any nightmares?
* To be a Chechen in Moscow – that is like being a Palestinian in Israel or a Kurd in Turkey!
* How many people today in Russia, are capable to ask of themselves two peaceful questions "why" and "for how long will we persevere?"
