On the seventh day of illegal USA-British "oil" war on Iraq and the Middle East, it is reportedly encountering a Middle East desert classic… blowing sandstorms. "High-tech" weaponry… being tested for future wars by their Imperial designers and the "bank & bondholder" owners who are happily putting to "test" their killing creations…just as Krupp and Adolph Hitler did in Spain and at Guernica sixty three years ago with their latest weaponry and "terror bombing". Similarly they will take greater satisfaction from watching "high-tech" media exposures of death and violence than from the blowing sand. However sound-bite after sound-bite assures that the "oil fields have been secured"…but then, that is precisely why Standard Exxon, British Petroleum el al have sent their "highly skilled" death weapons and troops into the sandstorm region.

Waves of rolling rage, hatred and what inevitably promise even more "killing fields" are the primary result. Pain and suffering, death, hunger, refugees, POW camps have already begun…but as the world watches in horror, they may well contemplate proliferation and violent takeovers of more countries, peoples, territories and resources. Imperialism, with its monstrous history of slavery, guns, whips, jails, death and super profits has returned in full force to confront the world’ people with new horrors. The "bank & bondholders" and their chief "marshals" the Bush and Blair couplet of liars, and the blind "defenders of the faith" seem to be rampant… if you consider the "news media" liars who help to concoct the "mis-"or" dis" information, the "body of lies" that defends and advances Imperialism itself. But despite all the warmongering the growing, almost universal demand worldwide has become "NO MORE WAR". That sentiment stands upon horrific historical events of hundreds of years of Imperialist super-exploitation, super-profiteering, destruction, degradation and mutation of human life in degrees and ways incomprehensible to common minds. Today’s Imperialist thrust for total unchallenged control and rights to "oil" and oil resources…the essential commodity they view as essential for their "high-tech" society… and the insanity of "world domination" via "high-tech" weapons… lies at the root of today’s war. Like the Bourbons of France, in another age, the Iraqi-Middle East wars are a product of minds "who have forgotten nothing, and learned nothing" from all past experience.

Not so for the international masses of people, wherever they reside, whatever they do, and regardless of their national origin, color, tradition or political or cultural experience. Today, the savage, unilateral wars to control oil, unrestricted by International law and thrust by US President Bush and UK Prime Minister Blair on humanity, includes marginalizing to "irrelevancy" and eventual dissolution of the United Nations, turning it into a meek and compliant servant of Imperial power for the elite. But that course leaves aside the fact that the International Law of the United Nations Charter was the direct, immediate, indeed inevitable…result of fifty million or more human beings who perished as a result precisely of Nazi German and their Axis partners as Imperialist war makers of blood baths and blood letting more than half a century ago. The United Nations Charter set down for all nations requirement for recognition and practice of International Law and was the result of growing unanimity around the world, among the people demanding "NO MORE WAR!"

Today, in full agreement and conformity with the teeming masses of people "around the world" Northstar Compass joins their swelling chorus with every fiber of our being. We respectfully suggest that now is the time for another demand on the United Nations Organization and amendment to the historic Charter. The current situation demands that:

"War as a long accepted and legal instrument of state policy for the resolution of conflicts and differences between sovereign states, shall be outlawed and made illegal under the United Nations Charter…"

We suggest that would limit current practices of Imperialist powers attempts to subjugate and control countries of lesser power ands dimension, their people and futures. The alternative is now fully exhibited in the insane "oil war" policies on Imperialist states in Iraq, the Middle East, Central Asia, the Korean Peninsula and elsewhere. The world is aware and must deal with the pretensions and absolute bankruptcy of policies only too reminiscent of earlier efforts at "world domination" by Hitler. Today such policies can only be put into effect through the highest circles of political power in the world’s one and only mega-power… the United States of America.

Here we refer to something called the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) a fanatical "right wing" group who are an integral part of the inner policy making circle of President George W. Bush. His personal connections to the "oil" hierarchy of Texas and the US are well known. Among the people in this "inner" cabal of "policy makers" are USA Vice President Richard Cheney (a former major figure in Halliburton oil) and Secretary of Defense under President Bush Sr., Donald Rumsfeld, now a chief honcho as Secretary of Defense and a long term acolyte of the ferociously anti-labour, anti-Communist, anti-Sovieteer State Department policy-maker in the Reagan years; Paul Wolfowitz, another right wing acolyte during the same period and today highly placed in the Bush entourage; the Governor of Florida, brother to the President Jeb Bush, whose State "shepherded" the Supreme Court dismissal of thousands of votes that guaranteed election of Brother George to the Presidency, despite the fact that he had lost the popular vote nation wide.

The original outpouring of this gang of "oil" PNAC group in 1997 said what America needed:

"…a military strong and ready to meet both present and future challenges; a foreign policy that boldly and purposefully promotes American Principles abroad…"

By the year 2000, speaking on "Rebuilding America’s Defenses" their ideas had expanded to say:

"…the process of transformation (sic) demands some catastrophic and catalyzing events like a new Pearl Harbor…"

This was only a year before the "catastrophic and catalyzing event" of the take down of the World Trade Centre Towers in New York. The war on "terrorism" and the curtailment of individual, human and civil rights followed immediately through the offices of the President. Richard Perle, in particular, has vocalized for years since the dismantlement of the USSR, for "war on Iraq". Of course it might all be coincidental, but then so is the "Moon made of green cheese" and some people still believe the earth is flat. Marching right along with President Bush, and such events was the abrogation of the 1972 Intercontinental Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty, and the re-introduction of the many billion dollar fantasies of "Star Wars"… now called Ballistic Missile Defense. And of course welfare rolls are cut, tax grabs handed the wealthy, and Bush demands more money from US Congress and the taxpayers… to prosecute more and ever "dirtier" oil wars.

The seventy-year efforts to destroy by war, inner subversion, sabotage or corrupted leadership, the working class led Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1991 eventually brought dismantlement of that mighty land. They had unflinchingly borne and withstood unprecedented sacrifices needed to build Soviet Socialism and to smash the Nazi-Italian, Romanian, Finnish, Bulgarian and other WWII assaults. The treachery and corruption and alienation of the working class that led to the tragedy of the "dismantlement" by leaderships that played "cheek-by-jowl" dance music with the destroyer of trade unions and people’s rights in the USA, Ronald Reagan…has created our current "Imperialist" so-called "unipolar" world in which the question at the head of this short article appears: WHO WILL BE NEXT?

It is time…with that running close to midnight hour…for new levels of unity, united front alliances, clearly defined policies and further mobilization of the people… first of all… the working people of the world…to unite in a mighty movement to bring friendship, peace, solidarity and new democratic rights to the world and endangered peoples. To stop the war on Iraq and advance the democratic rights of all the peoples in the Middle East… including the beleaguered people of Palestine stand high above all other purposes, as the PRIMARY TASK BEFORE ALL DEMOCRATIC NATIONS AND PEOPLES.

That will require new initiatives, new and broader activities across the board…by ourselves, by our friends, by all people and organizations of both good will and concern for the future well being of the species. We note with great satisfaction that many political forces, whose voices have been mutated by a multitude of causes, are now emerging in the universal struggle for a world with "NO MORE WAR!" Throw the war-makers into the ash can of history together with their "high-tech" instruments of death and oppression.

Let there be international friendship, solidarity and peace between all peoples in their sovereign nations!
