Sometimes in life there are moments, when you see the world through a prism of reality and mirage. Sometimes during this prism the jumble of life, reality, fantasy, become a mixture that represents life in many of its respects. Man was born so that he can dream, fantasize, in order to give substance to these dreams and to realize them into reality.

Prometheus gave us the torch of light and goodness, that we should carry it to the stars, to the life giving sun. Everyone of us should have his or her own star…

…I also have my own star. Well it is already 11 years that I walk step by step with my friends and comrades along this road to the stars as shown by Northstar Compass. We are following this star, as we follow a teacher in order to make actual our dreams and bring them into reality. Let us bring this storm set by the historical Spartak and Pugachev into reality and build the future for mankind…Communism!

Yes, we are continuing our flight into eternity. We well remember who it was that heroically manned the Paris Commune Barricades and raised the Red Banner high to the world. We remember the heroes if the Great October Revolution. We are the children of the battleship Aurora which with its batteries proclaimed a new Soviet State and which had the Red Banner waving proudly over the Soviet Union for 70 years. This Red Banner lighted up many countries of the world and brought terror to the Imperial Devil of capitalism and also forever demolished the colonial empires of raw exploitation.

But there is no happiness without sadness…today some people even say that there is no longer the Soviet Union…because there is no longer the USSR… But who am I ? No, my Mr’s and ex-communists! It is not night yet…the children of "Granma" and of the "Aurora" are still living! The red banner of the working class will again shine over the world. But not for only 70 days as did the Paris Commune, but for 70 years, for 70 centuries! I am alive, and I will be alive through my children, my grandchildren and my great-great grandchildren…because this is the law of life and world development…

We are continuing our flight - Forward and onward! Towards the sun and the stars of which the great thinkers thought and dreamt about. Everyone knows about this, those who read Northstar Compass. It carries to all the countries, to all continents the truth about Soviet people, truth about socialism, of the revolutionary struggles of people for their rights.

The most important event in the life of our Northstar Compass and of the friends of Soviet people was the First World Congress for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People that was held in Toronto in September of 2001.This was a heart- warming and even fairy tale meeting of people and it showed the organizational skill of the organizers. We discussed problems of the world, such as peace, democracy, socialism. After the Congress we were all taken to see one of the wonders of the world – the Niagara Falls. In front of our eyes was the mirage of many colours, hues, fantasy, reality – all blended into one. Such power, such dynamics, it seemed that no power on earth could curtail this phenomenon.
