This September issue was already on its way to the printers when this story of tragedy broke in the news. We could not let the NSC issue go to press without making these few comments, as dedicated friends of Soviet people!
This tragedy in Beslan, South Russia unfolded to a definite script by powers behind this terrible tragedy, where over 320 people were killed, most of them children in what was described as Chechen militants taking hundreds of people hostage for over 53 hours and then killing them.
But, there are very conflicting reports that are slowly coming out that there were bombs attached around the Gymnasium and that one bomb went off and this caused carnage and the roof to fall down on the hostages causing deaths.
It seems that President Putin's policy in Chechnya is a complete failure and when questioned by the press at this tragic time, he had nothing to say at all to the traumatized nation. Why? As the Moscow expert on the Caucasus Alexei Malachenko said: "Putin prefers mostly to be silent. It means that he himself doesn't know what to do."
Putin's actions in the crisis of the hostage taking in Moscow, the sinking of the Kursk submarine, and the blowing up of two passenger planes over Moscow lately, seems to indicate that, far from Knowing what to do in order to resolve this crisis in Chechnya and others, since the demise of the Soviet Union after the counter-revolution in 1991, President Putin, to my way of thinking is the man behind the scenes, pulling strings that are attached to many unsavory events, since he took office in Russia.
Why this hostage carnage in Beslan, Russia now?
With President Bush coming up for re-election soon and his fight against "terrorism" all over the world, including in "Russia as well", and with Putin also fighting "terrorism" by supporting Bush's terrorism and the American New World Order all over the world – don't you think there is collusion and co-operation between these two?
Why were there no problems and no terrorist acts even during the time of Gorbachev?
Why was there no terrorism on such a scale in the former Soviet Union, until the counter-revolution took place in the USSR? Why cannot the present authorities come to some resolution about the crisis in the Caucasus? Obviously there are problems, grievances, real or imagined that Imperialism is very keen to exploit, inflame and thus benefit in its conquest of the raw materials of the world.
Who has their troops and advisors now in Chechnya, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kirghizia etc. US imperialism, that's who!
It is too coincidental that this latest carnage in Russia should take place just after the Republican convention that nominated George Bush for president! It gives him credence that "See – I'm fighting terrorism all over the world!"
The events of 9/11, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Haiti, Middle East – these are all spots that US – New World Order has its fingers in. Unfortunately, the present president Putin of Russia is completely under the wing of Uncle Sam and is doing all in his power to make certain that Bush, his chummy buddy gets elected.
Putin also knows of the US Transnationals’ plans to divide Russia into about 7 different small fiefdoms, serving the IMF, WB and Imperialism and he certainly will not lift a finger to stop Uncle Sam!
