Bedlam was all over Ukraine in November-December, 2004 – while in the West they are calling it "The Orange Revolution!" For many weeks these nationalist elements with their orange tents, orange signs, orange scarves and orange headbands, were taking over the main square in Kiev. Most of them were students and even public school children, who sat in the main square, surrounded the Council of Ministers building, Upper House, Central Judicial Court, and even the Council of Ministers of Ukraine. They had over 1,200 tents already, and ready to be set up. By whom were these tents supplied? The rock bands were there to play – of course they got paid in American dollars. Orators were there by the score, as if it was written as in a movie script, with already printed speeches, slogans. The demand to scream on a signal "YUSHCHENKO" was on the agenda every hour.

Everyone now knows what transpired with the first voting, then the run-off, then the setting of December 26th for the final vote. Yushchenko warned and threatened the Supreme Court Judges that their families will be in danger unless their demands are met… they even gave addresses of all the judges to the multitude of people over the loudspeakers so that in case the Supreme Court did not cave in, the demonstrators should visit their wives and children.

For 17 days the government was in limbo, not able to get into the government buildings. Of course the Western press promoted this as the "peoples' revolt". What role was played by president Kuchma?

To Kiev there were bussed from Western Ukraine and by busses and trains, thousands of these Ukrainian nationalists. They had their "Youth Storm Troopers" in their uniforms, their sergeants, their captains and leaders, all acting to a written script. Who was it that elected the leaders of these storm troopers? Who paid for the already assembled orange tents in the thousands? Who fed these "demonstrators" with hot meals three times per day? Who supplied overcoats and caps to the cold demonstrators? Who paid these volunteers by the hundreds to get here on busses and trains?

Why did President Kuchma not support the Ukrainian Constitution? What about the security apparatus order to keep peace? Constitution was being broken every day and paragraph by each paragraph.

A Communist deputy in the Ukrainian government, Gmyria, said it correctly: "This is a fascist counterrevolution supported by the Western powers."

Yushchenko utilized the hatred of the people against the government of Kuchma's last ten years of hardships. He also played the nationalist card to the fullest and it looks as if Ukraine is now split into two parts. Yanukovich based himself on Eastern Ukraine where the majority of people are Russian-speaking. The extreme Ukrainization promoted by Kuchma and the Western nationalists brought a wave of protests from the Russian-speaking majority of Eastern Ukrainians. The kinship and love for the Russian people by Ukrainians could not be obliterated, especially in Eastern Ukraine, in the southern parts and in the Carpathian Region. Because of the extremely bad economic situation in Ukraine, hundreds of thousands of Russian-speaking Ukrainians go to work to Russia.

This victory of the right-wing nationalist forces will make Ukraine a colony of the USA, IMF and WB and the elimination of contacts between the brotherly peoples and a forced assimilation, and these powers will not recognize Russian as a language with equal status as the Ukrainian language.

It is a fact, that nationalism can obliterate the thought processes of people. Again, I must state, that all these so-called Western sponsored "elections" showed conclusively the bankruptcy of the capitalist "democracy'" since everything is for sale to the highest bidder – the Parliament, the Supreme Court, the President. The winners in Ukraine are those who have money on their side, not the truth!
