Our country is covered now by the orange-brown mist and fog. Ukraine has now become one of the most destabilized countries on this planet.
Readers of NSC are by now familiar with what transpired in the first and second round of elections in Ukraine and the external support for the internal reactionary forces, trying to bring Ukraine into NATO and EU at all costs. We therefore abridged this article, since readers know that 'Yushchenko forces have the finances, the support and the Imperialist backing against the candidate Yanukovich. Editor.
Regarding the support for Yanukovich, which is mostly by the working class, miners, metallurgists, of East Ukraine and the Carpathian Region, as opposed to the "orange" demonstrators, these forces were placid and Yanukovich himself demanded that there be order.
This article of mine is being written before the ending of the "Third Round" of the election. I feel that it is very hard to predict the outcome of the turmoil, whether Yushchenko or Yanukovich are the winners. But it is evident that the organized fascist young people, headed by Yushchenko and Timoshenko, are determined to take over the government at all costs. After the second round election and the decision of the State Electoral Commission that Yanukovich won, Timoshenko called upon the "Orange masses" to form columns and march against the parliament and against President Kuchma, to stay there until Yushchenko will become president. On his part, President Kuchma showed no sign of keeping or upholding the Constitution of Ukraine or to keep law and order functioning.
What about the forces of the "left"? Unfortunately there was and is complete disarray and lack of unity. I feel that it was only the registered party, called "Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine" that did what was possible to try and stop the march of fascism in Ukraine, to support Yanukovich even though he is part of the present bourgeois state. They supported the unity of the Slavic peoples.
The Socialist Party of Ukraine, headed by Moroz had become a supporter of Yushchenko and co.
As I look at the present situation in Ukraine, I feel that it is a nightmare. But if this was not so tragic, the present presidential election in Ukraine is just a theatre of the absurd. The question of these organized, paid for mobs in the street is called the "people", but this is just an orgy of fanaticism. This foreign financed euphoria is to support the pro-American candidate for the president of Ukraine. This is a march towards fascism, chaos and tragedy...
What is ahead? It's hard to say. To look in the near future for something good is useless. But, if we look back not too long in the past, there comes to mind the battles for Moscow and Stalingrad… was it not the Red Flag that flew over the German Reichstag!
At NSC Press Time:
Yushchenko – 52.4%
Yanukovich – 43. %
Special for NSC
Below is a photo of 400 Canadian "observers" that went into Ukraine, paid for by the taxes of Canadians, Together there were 12,000 foreign "observers" from many countries. The logistics are stupendous, transport, meals, cars, interpreters, etc. These were dressed in Orange shawls and caps of Yushchenko. Of course this was done to show "unbiased opinion"?! Some of the Ukrainian Canadian nationalists went to show their support for pro-Western Yushchenko. Other young people who went, when asked, could not even point on the map to where Ukraine was situated!
We propose that 500 Russian, Ukrainian, Byelorussian observers be sent to oversee the President Bush's next election in the USA.
