Other names of donors will be publisher in next NSC issue
The 2nd World Congress has already received Registration forms from delegates as of this NSC issue from:
Canada, USA, Britain, Spain, N. Ireland, Pakistan, Ukraine, Russia, Lithuania, North Ossetia, Turkey, Sri Lanka.
We expect 27 countries to be represented with their delegates. According to the latest information we have at press time, from former USSR there will be about 13-15 delegates coming to the Congress.
The present political situation in the word, the clear danger of broader conflicts and invasions by US imperialism, plus the rising structure of neo-fascism coming to the fore in the US government, and, the growing intensifying rivalry between the capitalist-imperialist states, presents mankind with a very dangerous situation! This uncertain situation, plus the complete lack of concrete political action by the present subservient Russian government in standing up to US imperialism and its New World Order, makes it very imperative that the International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People do even more in giving support by actions all over the world to the Soviet people, to help them in their actions to liberate themselves from the yoke of the present bourgeois regime, before US imperialism and NATO will make certain that Russia is divided into 7-8 small colonies and
the Kremlin will be made Into a USA Shopping Mall. Therefore, I am appealing to all sincere and dedicated friends of Soviet people
to participate in the Second World Congress by sending delegates. If that is impossible due to financial or political reasons, please send in your suggestions, reports or statements that will show your proposals as to what this extremely important Second World Congress should accomplish. Your reports will be translated into Russian, English, French and Spanish, so that each delegate will have the materials to refer to in his or her presentation and discussions that will follow!Dear friends:
In order to be able to economize the finances that we have to spend' on renovations to the Friendship House and in this way help the Society of Carpatho-Russian. Canadians who help to fund the publication of Northstar Compass, and in order to economize our finances to have enough to host the Second World Congress and cover the cost of hotel rooms, meals, transportation and a trip to Niagara
Falls for all the delegates - we are informing you that the July-August issue of Northstar Compass will be a combined issue - thus saving $3,000 for one month.Dear comrades and friends:
Our Congress is taking place on this the 60th Anniversary year of the end of World War II. This Congress will express its gratitude to the Soviet Union that saved mankind from the scourge of fascism! We must support the aspirations of the Soviet people, as well as mankind as a whole for peace, end to wars and for a better future. This better life for all of humanity can only come by
Socialism and a reborn Union of Soviet Socialist Republics! The September issue will be a pre- Congress issue, full of information about the agenda, list of delegates and proposed resolutions.
Let this Second World Congress go down in history as a turning point in a worldwide movement for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People!
Michael Lucas, Chairman
