Regarding Your Last "Open Letter"

Of course this Open Letter was a cry from the soul of people that dedicated their whole life to Socialism and the USSR and other socialist countries. I would like to give my on the spot opinion again, as to the tragedy that befell the Soviet Union.

The cause of this tragedy is that practically the whole of the communist movement in the world finds itself now in a very deep crisis, and I, at the moment do not foresee a light at the end of the tunnel. Very large communist parties were born after the post-Soviet era, they are, like most European communist parties, of the Khrushchev, Brezhnev-Gorbachev type, and slowly but surely are becoming social-democratic parties, and even in words are abandoning Marxism-Leninism. A perfect example here in Russia is the CPRF (Communist Party of the Russian Federation). There are now many numerous parties, groupings, all sorts of Marxist sects, practically not connected in anyway with the working class at all.

Therefore do not expect real co-operation or answers or letters from some of these parties – some of them do not even read your letters or the Northstar Compass. They do not want to cooperate with a movement that stands on the correct Marxist-Leninist principle, they only meet with their own kind. They do not appreciate any constructive criticism- they label such comradely criticism as dirt.

Communist Parties in former USSR and other socialist countries completely gave up their control over mass information structures, the army, the state apparatus – they were led by revisionist elements and thus they gave up all what was entrusted to them by the people.

Today the enemies of socialism are celebrating this sell-out, having taken over the whole state apparatus. They have all of the resources on hand to hold power in their hands, banking themselves on the help from their foreign master – Imperialism.

We have to systematically work to unify the communist movements in the world, to come out of this crisis, but based only on the ideology of Marxism-Leninism. Only in this way can we start to give rebirth to the Soviet Union, to build a world socialist system, which can be a reality, after the rebirth of the Soviet Union.

Wishing you the best dear comrades. We shall be victorious, there is no doubt. This will depend on our concrete tactics and not to repeat the same mistakes as before. Criticism and self-criticism must be the order of the day.

The Second World Congress for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People is a step in the right direction and should be supported by all the communist parties – even the ones that think or pretend that they are Marxist-Leninist!
