Greetings Received by the Second World Congress
All-Union Movement for Defense of Political Prisoners – Fighters for
Socialism
Committee for Defence of Political Prisoners
Dear Friends!
We wholeheartedly greet all the comrades who gathered for this Congress to express their support to the Soviet People in difficult times of their history when the time turned backwards and the state of the future – the state of the dictatorship of the proletariat temporarily yielded its positions to the capitalist past.
We, true Soviet communists, know it is our duty to return our country to the main road of history, the road of socialism and communism. We are very thankful to all of you for your support in difficult times.
In fear of anticipating its defeat, bourgeois regime unfolds repressions onto fighters for socialism. You know this well because you live in the conditions of capitalist rule and you lead constant struggle against it. In the Soviet Union where our grandfathers established Soviet state and our fathers fought it back from Hitler’s fascism, we have never experienced repressions of the bourgeois system because we lived in socialist society. In the same way as the communists of Spain, Turkey and like Cuban heroes who are held behind the bars in the USA, our comrades – political prisoners, communists and Komsomol members, need support of the worldwide communist movement.
Since 1999 Committee for Defense of Political Prisoners Fighters for Socialism functions on the territory of the USSR. It consists of representatives of many communist organizations. The conference, which took place in September 2004, constituted the All-Union Movement for Defense of Political Prisoners Fighters for Socialism, which functions on the territory of the USSR. Up until recently, the Founder and Chairman of this Movement was devoted communist, brave fighter with the regime and with opportunism in the communist ranks, Anatoly Viktorovich Kriuchkov. His logo regarding political prisoners was always: "Rescue your comrade, even if you have to die". In May 2005 the entire communist movement, the party – Revolutionary Party of Communists, of which A.V. Kriuchkov was secretary of the Central Committee, and the Committee for Defense of Political Prisoners Fighters for Socialism suffered a great loss. The heart of this devoted revolutionary stopped beating, he passed away.
However, the committee continues its work defending political prisoners on the territory of the USSR and by showing international solidarity. It expresses its political support to many communists in the world who are being repressed by capitalist regimes in their countries.
Now the committee is struggling for liberation for the Komsomol members locked up in prisons of Russia and Ukraine. These are Komsomol members: Nedezhda Raks, Larissa Romanova and Olga Nevskaya – in Russia. In Ukraine – Andrei Yakovenko, Igor Danilov, Illia Romanov, Bogdan Zinchenko and Alexander Smirnov. We will be thankful to all communists, including the delegates of this Congress, for any support of these courageous young people, against whom not only the accusations are falsified, but who underwent horrific tortures. Especially this relates to people involved in the so-called Odessa case. For examples, the authorities hung Igor Danilov up by his twisted arms, send electric current through his handcuffs, pushed needles under his fingernails, chocked him with the oxygen mask, jumped on him and crushed his chest, broke seven ribs and one of the pieces of the rib cut his lung. Another convict in the same case, twenty-year old Sergey Berdiugin, died in prison, chained to his bed. The court of Ukraine convicted all the young people for very long terms of imprisonment – from 8 to 14 years.
This is why we appeal to all friends of the Soviet people to support these political prisoners. You can offer them political help by writing and proclaiming declarations, moral help by writing them letters and, if possible, material help which will provide them with parcels and necessary legal assistance.
We wish your Congress successful work. We wish all delegates to have excellent and respectful understanding of each other, which will help in future word and struggle.
With respect and gratitude for you help,
Chairwoman of the Committee for Defence of Political Prisoners – Fighters for Socialism
N. O. Glagoleva
Dear comrades,
We greet the delegates of the 2nd World Congress for Friendship and Solidarity with the Soviet People. We wish you fruitful work. We hope that this Congress will become a significant milestone in consolidation of all forces speaking up for rebirth of the USSR.
Together we shall conquer!
On behalf of the Soviet citizens of Ukraine
S.G. Savelev
Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Movement "For the Soviet Union"
Greetings from a Political Prisoner!
Dear comrades and organizers of the Second World Congress for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People. I send you my sincere best wishes from my jail cell in Odessa, Ukraine, where I am sentenced by the reactionary government of present day Ukraine. I am a citizen of Russia, born in the Soviet Union. I and my comrades did not wish to accept the break-up and elimination of the USSR, the multi national Soviet Union. We decided to take an active part in the struggles to resurrect the Soviet Union, together with our Ukrainian comrades.
We were caught and arrested by the secret services of the Ukrainian nationalist regime. They sentenced us to many years in jail and I received a sentence of 14 years!
But I was and am and will remain forever a Soviet person and patriot. I want to thank the International Council and the journal Northstar Compass for your friendship and solidarity with us.
With Communist greetings!
Igor Danilov, political prisoner in the Odessa jail.
My address is:

Dear comrade Lucas:
On October 29-30, 2005 there will take place the 4th Congress of Citizens of USSR. There shall be delegates from Ukraine, Russia, Byelorussia, Moldavia, Predneister Republic, Kazakhstan and maybe from other former Soviet republics.
On behalf of the Presidium of Supreme Soviet of USSR and the Union Movement "For the Soviet Union", we are inviting you and other members of the International Council to take part in the workings of this Congress as observers and our honoured guests.
Please keep in mind that there cannot be any official invitation. You must arrive in Moscow as tourists. Upon arrival please let me know.
Now it is easier to come to Moscow and to Russia than to overcome the draconian laws as I found out when I applied to get a visa at the Canadian Embassy to come to the Second World Congress!
Comradely yours
Chairman A. G. Kozlobaev
We thank you for your invitation, but I cannot come since I am barred from entering Russia. I have passed this to other members of the Council and we are sending greetings to your important Fourth Congress!

Dear Colleagues,
Our delegate did not receive visa to Canada and judging from the interview that took place at the Canadian Embassy it was due to the political reasons.
Nonetheless, we expect the Congress to read, discuss and hopefully accept the draft of our Address to the Congress, which we have submitted on time.
We wish the Congress successful work.
Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Congress of the Citizens of the
USSR

Greetings from the Carpathians
Dear brothers and sisters:
Having found out the tragedy caused by fire set by arson to the Friendship House, the pride and joy of the Alexander Duchnovich Society of Carpatho-Russian Canadians, where your meeting now, we as your brothers and sisters living in the Carpathian Mountains in Slovakia, Ukraine and Poland are very proud that you are helping the progressive movement and since your inception in 1929, are dedicated to Socialism and to the glorious history of the Soviet Union.
We know that you are helping and supporting the Canadian Friends of Soviet People and helping financially to cover the costs of publishing Northstar Compass that we receive here regularly. We congratulate you brothers and sisters for your devotion.
As our grandparents and parents always taught us – "Look to the East, over our mountains, that is where our salvation will come from!"
We wish the Second World Congress success and we hope that the Society of Carpatho-Russian Canadians will keep on supporting friendship with Soviet People.
We wanted to send two delegates to the Congress but the economic situation here in capitalist Slovakia prevented us from doing so. We hope that the materials of the Second World Congress will be sent to us.
With comradely greetings
MICHAEL RICALKA

From a Soviet Delegate Whose Visa Was Refused by Canadian Authorities in Moscow
Dear comrade delegates:
This is the second time in my attempt to get a Canadian visa to attend the Second Congress that it was refused. They told me not to apply again, even after you comrades sent a fax to the Canadian Embassy in Moscow guaranteeing my visit, health insurance and all meals and hotel for 7 days.
I am well known to the Putin’s present Secret Service, which keeps an eye on me. It is apparent that the Canadian Embassy consulted Putin’s service, and that is the result. Another example is that my comrades in Ukraine, to where I was invited to speak at the All Ukrainian Movement "For the Soviet Union" last July 30th warned me not to come or I will be arrested.
I just have this opportunity to wish the Congress the best of success. I really wanted to meet you personally comrade Lucas.
On behalf of the All Union Movement "For the Soviet Union" and the "Supreme Soviet of the USSR" (which is existing already 10 years) we have sent you our materials and our thoughts, which I hope the delegates will have the opportunity to get acquainted with.
What I want to wish you comrades and you Michael Lucas in particular?
1) That you should remain at the position that was adopted by the First World Congress. That there should remain and expand the International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People, and that you should not just embrace "Internationalism".
2) You know that our Movement for the Soviet Union is a collective member of the International Council and a collective member of the Soviet Friendship Society with Foreign Countries.
3) We will in the future period cooperate with you comrades and will make certain that we’ll get more Soviet people to join our ranks and thus help you in your work.
4) We will in future keep tight contacts with the International Council and with Michael Lucas in particular, because we need all the solidarity and friendship possible, in our struggle against the occupiers- the pseudo-democrats and Zionists.
5) On behalf of our Movement "For Soviet Union" we ask you to accept our representatives as collective members of the International Council. They are : A.G. Kozbolaev (Russia) Chairman of the movement "For the Soviet Union", S.G. Saveliev (Ukraine) R.F. Frolovich (Byelorussia – Fatherland Movement)
Permit us to wish you all good health, success during this important Second World Congress and to lead further this international organization.
With deep respect to all the delegates!
A.G. KOZBOLAEV
Chairman of the Presidium of Supreme Soviet - USSR
P.S. These materials are all in each of the Congress delegate’s portfolios.
