News From the Former USSR
It’s About Time This Was Said!
From Russian Information Agency
November 23, 2005
MINSK – Byelorussian President Lukashenko said that the break-up of the Soviet Union had been orchestrated and paid for by the West.
"Such things do not just happen in politics. A lot of money was paid for that", Lukashenko said.
In 1991 the leaders at that time of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine met at the Belovezhskaya Pushcha Natural Reserve in Belarus and signed the agreement to found the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and thus abolished the USSR.
Stanislav Shushkevich, a former speaker of the Belarusian parliament, signed this agreement for Belarus, and did not have the right to do so.
"This was Shushkevich’s initiative. He should have received permission from the Belarus’ parliament for signing the documents. This was a tragic mistake. There was no reason for the USSR to disintegrate."
President Lukashenko went on to say: "The Alpha ((commando unit) should have gathered the signatories of Russia, Ukraine ad Belarus, wrapped them up in barbed wire and then let them call and report back to then President Bush senior what they signed."
COMMENT: Yes – it’s about time, but, why did President Lukashenko wait 14 years to make this statement? Even in the Imperialist USA, former President Nixon was impeached and had to resign for a much lesser crime! The 3 traitors of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine who signed that agreement are still alive. Why not start the impeachment process now?
President Lukashenko will not be bought
From Byelorussian Telegraph Agency
Western countries are ready to offer President Lukashenko security guarantees and his family and to pay good money for him stepping down at the coming Byelorussian elections next year.
"I want you to know. I have made my mind up and no amount of money will ever make me hide away somewhere!" Lukashenko told the presidential press conference.

Anything for Money, Eh Gorby!
In a photograph gathered from the Toronto, Canada newspaper, named "METRO", we see Mr. Gorbachev, forever selling his services all over the world for any cause that will bring these $$$$$
into his bank account. Now, here we see him as "President of World Awards" which are presented to internationally known women in 10 different categories.
It sure is a far cry from being President of the multinational 15 Republics of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
Usually people who sell out their own soul, their position of trust, their own country, have no place to go but to slide down into murky, muddy waters of selling ones self to the highest bidder.
Yes, Mr. Gorbachev, you will be remembered as the top sell-out artist in the annals of world history.
There is a saying in the Carpathian Mountains that fits just nicely here:
"There’s nobody more righteous than a prostitute after confession!"

Complete Demilitarization of Kaliningrad Ruled Out
MOSCOW – The chief of Russia’s General Staff, General Yuri Basluyevsky, has ruled out the "complete demilitarization" of the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, a region that borders Poland and Lithuania.
"Never will the Russian political leadership agree to the complete demilitarization of our territory of Kaliningrad region. We are already modernizing the Kaliningrad group of our armed forces."
The General also made a statement that the: "US has made demands that a number of countries’ nuclear programs should be completely transparent. On the other hand, the United States itself turns a blind eye to the fact that Israel has for a very long time had and has a significant nuclear arsenal."
Protest Sent to President of Lithuania
Dear sir:
On behalf of the Executive Committee of the International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People and, on behalf of the Editorial Board of Northstar Compass journal, we are sending this protest regarding the dangerous health situation of the innocent political prisoner M. Burokjavichus who is supposed to be let out to freedom on January 14, 2006.
Being held due to your witch-hunt against Communists, he is held under inhuman conditions and is suffering so that there is real danger that he might die in captivity at the age of 79.
We demand his unconditional release to seek treatment outside Lithuania, since your government is acting like Hitler did in August of 1944 when he had the German communist leader E. Thaelmann killed just as the Soviet Red Army was liberating Germany.
No one shall escape punishment for crimes against humanity, no matter whether he is a clerk or a president!
On behalf of the International Council
Michael Lucas, Chairman
Komsomols Are In the Struggle of Georgia
Statement by the Central Committee of the Communist Union of Youth of Georgia
Dear readers:
We have not published much news about the struggles in Georgia, since our reader and correspondent, Helen Blau became very ill. Here’s an article that appeared in the newspaper "Voice of a Communist", which shows that the struggles are going on.
"Not too long ago the regime of Georgia had perpetrated a clash with the opposition movement, called "Truthfulness". The state apparatus has perpetrated a physical battle against unarmed people. In a score of cities and towns, the Georgian secret services of the state arrested activists, amongst them the activists of our Communist Union of Youth.
Our members were fulfilling the tasks of our Central Committee by taking an active part in the demonstrations and to make certain that they were well organized. After the demonstrations were brutally broken up, our activists in Batumi and Khobi, Kataisi and other centres of Georgia, the Security militia, in black masks over their faces, took our comrades into a forest and proceeded to beat them up viciously and then left them there.
This again confirms that the present regime is an anti-peoples regime as was practiced before by Shevernadze, and they will do everything possible to put down any demonstration or any protest with weapons.
Unfortunately, it is a fact that none of the so-called opposition parties and movements have openly condemned these fascist attacks on the people. The propaganda being promoted by the present regime and supported by their Western capitalist masters, that "the opposition forces" have full freedom. Most of the Georgian opposition forces are basically cooperating with the present regime and do not condemn the attacks against the people.
Today’s regime in Georgia has copied to the letter the openly fascist methods of crushing any opposition. All this was now shown to the people of Georgia in reality. By these methods the regime tries to scare the people and thus prevent them from fully demonstrating their opposition to the devastating policies of the present Western-supported regime.
Our CC of the Communist Union of Youth of Georgia is condemning this open terror against the people and their demands. We are going to be together with the people with our progressive forces and supporting all anti-regime movements in fighting this anti-peoples regime."

Moscow-Tashkent Get Closer
President Putin and Uzbek President Karimov have signed a treaty that states that an attack on either country will be considered an act of "aggression" against both, thus giving Russia the possibility of using a military base in Uzbekistan.
The only problem in this is that Uzbekistan has no border with Russia!
Head of Rocket Firm Jailed For Selling Secrets To China
The Federal Security Service has arrested the head of a Russian rocket technology firm on charges of selling state secrets to China, BBC reported. Igor Reshetin, director of TNIIMASH Export, is being held in Moscow’s Lefortovo prison, along with his deputy and another top assistant, on charges of illegally selling technology for military use.
Keep Ukraine Out Of NATO
The head of the Russian State Duma’s committee for CIS affairs, Andre Kokoshkin, has stated that "Ukraine’s accession into NATO would erect a Berlin Wall between it and Russia and Belarus, requiring a totally different regime that would hit tens of millions of people. Ukraine’s membership in NATO is absolutely absurd, given that it is not being threatened either by Russia or Belarus, who are its main neighbours.
Ukraine is being pulled towards NATO for ideological and political reasons. Cynical politicians think that Ukraine should be split away for good and then our lives will be controlled by outside forces!"
