News From Former USSR

Georgia on the warpath!

The latest news in this dangerous situation in the Caucasus is that the President of Georgia has ordered his army to attack Abkhazia, according to charges made by its President, Sergey Bagapsh. He also warned Georgia that: "We know, how to provide security in this region. And we shall take care of the 55,000 refugees that are flooding our Abkhazia. This country has been ravaged due to the policies of the present regime of Georgia, who are not their own masters!"

Georgia uses force against Armenians

Use of brute force by the Georgian Army led to severe resistance by the local Armenian minority living in this border between Georgia and Armenia at this strategic Samatskhe-Javakhetu region.

Georgia has dismissed all of the Armenians at the border crossing custom offices. They were replaced by force by armed Georgian officers and the already hard economic conditions and also the unbearable conditions of life due to the break-up of the USSR and Georgian nationalism, the region is also blockaded and the actions of the Georgian custom officials make the situation unbearable. The idea of the Georgian regime is to annex this part and expel all of the Armenians living there and confiscate their properties.

US Was Behind the Soviet Union's Collapse

President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus charged last month at a press conference that President Bush Sr. was behind the "sponsored" collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. 'There was no reason for the USSR to collapse. In politics such things do not happen without a reason. All this was not for free; large sums had been paid for this accomplishment."

Lukashenko then added: "That the special Soviet armed forces "Alpha" should have gathered the leaders of Russia, Byelorussia and Ukraine (Yeltsin, Krawchuk, Shushkevich who concluded the Belovezh agreement on the break-up of the Soviet Union) and those other former leaders of the Soviet Union Republics who had a agreed to break-up the USSR, put them behind a barbed wire fence and then phone President Bush Sr. to report to him what they were signing , and what they have done."

Uzbekistan warns Western powers against interference

Agence France-Presse

Uzbek President Islam Karimov warned the Western powers against interfering in his country and trying to impose their "democracy" by force – in December of last year.

"We will not accept any interference in our internal affairs. We will not accept any policy of pressure and intimidation aimed at controlling us. The export of "democracy" from outside without considering the particularity and foundation of each country is doomed and will lead to sorrowful consequences."

Latvian Fascists Are Going To March Again

From ITAR-TASS

RIGA: The Latvian fascists are to march again in order to commemorate the Waffen SS Legion of Latvia on March 16, 2005. Members of other similar Nazi organizations are planning to join the march in larger numbers.

A similar march was held last year by permission of the Latvian regime and there were clashes with police and members of the Latvian Russian organizations. Many of these Russian Latvians were jailed and fined. Most are challenging these police fines in courts.

COMMENT:

This of course proves that the present Latvian regime is not only nationalistic but seems to favour fascist ideology and tries to hide the history o thousands of Red Army men being shot in the back by these nationalists, who were serving the Hitler Nazis.

Putin’s Regime Is Allowing the Following:

From newspaper FOR USSR

The same scenario is being played now as during the counter-revolutionary years when the Russian Army was used.

COMMENT: How can any political party in Russia, agree with these traitorous acts which in any other country the leader would be tried and shot!

Danger Ahead for NGO’s in Russia

In a very dangerous move, the Russian Duma has given second reading to a Bill which, if passed will absolutely limit and curtail the activities of any NGO (Non Governmental Organization) that the present regime feels is dangerous to their policy. This is being hidden under an excuse that this Bill is only meant to: "fight terrorism and money laundering and to stop foreign funding of any activities."

COMMENT:

Does this mean that people all over the world who want to be friends with Soviet People and establish Friendship Society with Foreign Countries in ex-USSR and also that the International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People are looked upon as "terrorist organizations?"

Is this why some Soviet delegates were refused permission to come to Canada?
