Where the horse with hoofs goes, so does lobster with claws
By VLADIMIR PRONIN
Even though Lenin is dead, he makes all of the present rulers in former Soviet republics very nervous. Case in point is the ongoing campaign by the present regime of Russia to do away with the body of V.I. Lenin and with the Lenin Mausoleum in the Red Square. This of course demands from the communists (those that deserve that title) to protest and not allow this travesty to take place.
Regarding the present regime in Ukraine, they of course could not let an opportunity like this to pass them by. Although the life of Lenin himself was such that he did not stay too long in places of Ukraine - therefore places that he visited are few. But, there is a place where the Uljanov family, including his two sisters who were also revolutionaries - Anna Ilyich and Maria Ilyich and their Mother Maria Alexandrovna lived. To their Kiev address there came letters from Lenin, in which there were directions to the Marxists in Ukraine. Of course the Ukrainian police arrested them and jailed them into the Lukiansky fortress. Of course after this, the sisters and mother had to leave Kiev.
During Soviet times, in the home where they lived, it was a
Memorial Museum, where excursions and lectures were held.
Of course this Museum was like a thorn in the eyes of the present regime, and they, looking at the very unfortunate passivity of the Kiev communists, about two years ago, closed this Museum and shipped the exhibits into another less known museum. But now, these Ukrainian nationalists have their eyes on the building – the Museum itself.
The photographs shown here will show the Northstar Compass readers in what disrepair this Museum is. We must all protest this travesty because the regime wants to demolish this building so that no one will ever remember that the sisters and mother of Lenin were living there.
