Friendship News

CZECH REPUBLIC
Greetings our dear comrades!
From the bottom of my heart I greet you dear friends and comrades of the International Council and of the Northstar Compass journal on this May Day and on May 9th the Day of Victory of the heroic Soviet people over fascist Germany! I wish you future successes in the struggle for a better world, peace and optimism for the future.
I am very honoured that at the last Second World Congress for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People in 2005 I was elected to the International Council. For me it is a noble cause to help the Soviet people who gave the world the first Socialist Revolution and started the process for the liberation struggles of mankind all over the world. The honour bestowed upon me is also the honour that is bestowed on our newspaper "Dialog" which has been publishing already 16 years in defence of Socialism, against revisionism and in defence of the glorious Soviet people and for the resurrection of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Our struggle is for the victory over capitalism-imperialism by Marxism-Leninism!
Today, after the temporary defeat of socialism in Europe, the reactionary, anti-peoples forces are holding the people in their grasp in order to utilize them in their criminal activity. It is an absolute truth that the present regime in the US is a form of fascism. Helping to lead this attack against communists are the forces of the Catholic Church, the exploiter of people. Our present Czech regime has allowed physical attacks against many Communists and progressives, and the Czech regime’s press even promotes and supports the slogan "Kill a Communist – make peace stronger!" This slogan is promoted on T-shirts and other media not only here at home, but in Austria, Germany and many other European countries. Our main task now is to struggle against this present contemporary fascism that is aimed at the communists and other progressive forces in the world.
We are very happy that leading this struggle is also Northstar Compass, headed by you Michael Lucas. I am very proud that I have the opportunity to work with you and your collective in this noble struggle!
Once again, please accept my sincere thanks and well wishes in your life and in our common cause!
With deep respect,
Zdenek Novotny

To Comrade Michael Lucas
Editor of Northstar Compass
Dear Comrade Michael Lucas,
On the occasion of the historical and glorious event Day 9 of May 1945 we wish to express our entire consideration and appreciation for the brave Soviet Army.
The Soviet heroes brought their contribution, with many sacrifices, for the victory against fascist domination, for the freedom of the European countries, on that crucial May 1945.
We also express our gratitude and bring a sincere homage to the great Soviet leader, comrade Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin – who did lead to victory the most powerful army in the world. ever – the Soviet Army.
I consider, as a leader of the Communist Party of Romania, that those who launch nowadays, new aggressions should learn from the past, from the history lessons.
Long live the Soviet Union, our friend .and neighbor country and people, the symbol of the struggle against imperialism. Together we can build up and strengthen Socialism for a better world and happy people.
Comradely,
Alexandru Pantazi

Dear friends:
I was very happy to have received the last February NSC. I feel that I have some materials ready that will really suit the ideas of your friend Michael Moore. It’s a very good initiative indeed.
Regarding the Third World Congress in Moscow n 2007 and the news that the Russian Academy of Sciences is willing to host it, is really good news! For me it is really surprising that at this time the present regime still allows the existence of the Academy of Sciences and that they also have the Centre of Marxist Studies as well…
Their proposals are tempting and it would be difficult to say "no" to their proposal. Obviously they have the potential, with your help, to organize such an event. The list of the prominent people that they suggest is impressive. No doubt that they will see to it that all foreign delegates and you in particular get visas.
There could be some problems, seeing that most of the delegates they suggest are well established, while many delegates from outside do not have a professorship. Such a situation may be criticized, but if you at the International Council are in charge, I cannot be too worried.
I would like to suggest that within the Congress Agenda there should be held a wide scale discussion by all delegates around a topic like: "Reasons and factors for the temporary demise and the future revival of the USSR."
I believe that if this is done, we shall see a wide representation of delegates from all over the world. A kind of wide-platform of unity will appear – this will make the rest of the Third World Congress a great success!
I read about the birthday of Michael Lucas. Congratulations to you on behalf of al the comrades in the Civic Protest Group in Bulgaria.
You see, in my younger years I was extremely interested in things that related to the Spanish Civil War - to go to such a romantic place, to fight for a just cause, seemed to me as a supreme realization of the highest ideal. I was reading all tat I could find about this struggle, listened to all the music de las Brigadas Internacionales and was singing to myself, as I do even now.
Although the people I saw on the photographs looked ordinary, their deeds were really historic and heroic!
I also read of General Lucas (Lukach) and saw front-line photographs of him. Never did I think however that one day, after so many years, I‘ll be in touch with a direct relative of his!
Unknown are the ways of destiny, aren’t they?
So, let us try to go on – as far as we can!
Yours faithfully

Dear comrade Lucas:
I am very pleased that in the last issue of NSC you saw fit to include my two articles. My greetings to you on your birthday, although late, I assure you that every word is from the bottom of my heart.
In the April issue I was pleased to read your "Open Letter" to Mr. Putin. I must tell you that I agree with every word that you wrote to him.
Oh yes, the scared people and some friends already told you, and are telling me also, that with the upcoming Third World Congress in 2007 in Moscow, President Putin should not be offended since he might take steps to stop the Congress from taking place, since he is a master in putting spokes into the wheel when he feels it will be advantageous.
But you did it correctly my friend, because such outrageous events cannot be allowed to pass by without any comment. You are not speaking for yourself - you are voicing opinions that are among majority of people who can no longer stomach the wild propaganda against our history, our leaders, on everything Soviet that was. Why should we keep quite when we see the daily lies in our media; the demolishing of monuments to our glorious leaders, the renaming cities; renaming streets that nobody knows anything about the people that they are named after!
But worse of all, is the crying reason given that: "When we take over again, we shall correct all of these mistakes." I and we have to explain to these "believers" that if we follow this advice we shall not be able to regain what we have lost!
Am sending you couple of photographs of the successful May Day celebration we held in Kiev.
The best to you and your comrades and, I am certain that you will agree with me that the worst of our Communist struggles are practically over, because Imperialism was not able to do all that they planned in Iraq, Afghanistan, and in spite of the temporary collapse of socialism. Besides this, in their dash for maximum profits and exploitation of the working class, the class consciousness is awakening the workers all over the world and the dedication to struggle for their rights.

Dear Michael:
I am enclosing an excerpt from the newspaper "Halo Noviny"
informing the readers of an anti-communist provocation in Prague last month. The
victim of this physical attack was the Deputy Chairman of the Czech Parliament
and a member of the Communist Party (KSCM), Jiri Dolejs. He was seriously
wounded as the photograph clearly shows.
The elections to the Czech Parliament are going to be held in June of this year and we are witnessing more and more various anti-communist and anti-democratic provocations at the present time. Individuals who are organized try to discredit the Communist Party and also thee Communist movement.
These imperialist attacks are directed at all of the left-oriented individuals. These fascist elements desire to stop and forbid the existence of the Young Communist League as well as the functioning of the Communist Party. They lie and spread terrible untruths about the number of "victims" of Communism, in the USSR and in former socialist countries, even in Cuba and North Korea. We certainly can expect more-and-more provocations that are directly or indirectly abetter by the present Czech government.
The danger of the growth of this fascist tendency is now more acute then ever before. This is also very significant that some of the representatives of the Czech Republic (i.e. Cyril Svoboda, Minister for Foreign Affairs, former president Vaclav Havel etc.) were and are very active in attacking Belarus, criticizing the recent elections, the so-called "violation" of human rights in Byelorussia! But, these same people never criticize the terrible situation in other despotic countries. They are cheating and lying to the Czech people!
How hypocritical of these so-called political "celebrities", ignoring the attack and bombing of Yugoslavia, the bombardment of Serbia and Iraq and the terrible ongoing conflict in Afghanistan, the tragedy in Darfur, Sudan, besides the plight of Palestinian people and the planned invasion now by US imperialism of Iran!
The only solution to these conflicts is the restoration of Socialism! That’s the only hope for the existence of the human beings!
Yours
Doc. JUDr. Mirko Svoboda
