US Vice President Dick Cheney’s visit to Kazakhstan and his "criticism" of Russia and Mr. Putin, spotlights the centuries old "Great Game" of geopolitical manoeuvring by outside powers for the control of Central Asia. The current struggle is for the access to the Caspian Sea hydrocarbon resources. Now it is no longer Great Britain and former Tsarist Russia struggling for possession, this region has a new player - American imperialism. US wants to control Kazakhstan in building the trans-Caspian oil pipeline from Aktu to Baku that would feed into the newly created and US controlled and supported Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. This would break Russia’s oil exports in the Caspian region.
The world’s largest inland body of water, the Caspian Sea is bordered by five states: Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkmenistan. This region is one of the largest hydrocarbon reserves in the world – about 16 –33 billion barrels of oil – as well as over 325 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. Majority of these riches lie close to the shores of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan – all former Soviet Socialist Republics. Besides all of these resources, the Caspian Sea has 90% of the world’s sturgeon and is, therefore, home of the world’s largest caviar industry.
Besides all of this, due to the dismemberment of the USSR, the growing hostility between Iran and Azerbaijan in the ongoing ethnic conflict in the Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia – this conflict is being supported, promoted and financed by US imperialism.
Iran does not want a strong Azerbaijan of course and, is supporting the Armenian insurgents in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, thus trying to render this pipeline unstable. Besides all of this, there are 15,000,000 Azerbaijanis in Iran and an independence movement is being formed and supported by US imperialism.

The planned US attack on Iran has nothing whatsoever to do with any nuclear weapons or terrorism whatsoever! The terrible losses n Afghanistan and Iraq by US and Britain and some others that have sent in their own hired guns for American dollars – has put Imperialism against the wall as far as how to get out of this quagmire. Many US allies are pulling their troops out under pressure of the people in those countries.
Therefore Bush puts pressure on countries like Canada to find and arrest "terrorists" (like an 84 year old mother) that supposedly were planning to blow up buildings and cut the head off the head of the Prime Minister!?
The ongoing problems created by Imperialism and playing the ongoing game, plus the tensions created purposely of ethnic strife – conceals the real motif of trying to control the Caspian Sea region by US imperialism. The attempt by Putin to show some backbone, I feel is just a public show for the Soviet People – nothing else, since unfortunately the present policy of present Russian regime is directly or indirectly helping US achieve its goal of the New World Order!
As friends of Soviet people and of Socialism, majority of the people feel that this dangerous situation would never-ever have come to pass if the absolute traitorous policy of liquidating the USSR was not allowed to happen!
All of the present "leaders" of the ex-USSR are to blame, including Putin who, as head of KGB in Germany and in the CC of Soviet KGB, did not raise his voice in opposition, as well as even President Lukashenko of Byelorussia, a former member of the CC-CPSU of Byelorussia voted also to liquidate the USSR! History does not lie or forgive!
The cover of this NSC issue says: "The world demands a regime change in the United States". I would like to add that there is an absolute need for a real change in all of the former Soviet Republics, including Putin’s Russia!
If we get rid of Imperialism in all of its covert and overt forms, there won’t be any terrorism or wars!
BACK TO THE FUTURE!
BACK TO THE SOVIET UNION AND SOCIALISM!
