Dear readers:

With the Mini-Conferee coming up this September in Toronto, Canada, and the Third World Congress now in the planning stages for November 2007 in Moscow - the Editorial Board of NSC and the Executive Committee of the International Council feel that in future issues of NSC there should be published more analytical and in-depth articles that explain the present dangerous situation in the world and the known and unknown reasons behind it. This will give our readers much to think about and to convey their opinions unto the pages of NSC, so that by the time the Third World Congress will take place in Moscow in 2007, the policy that has guided our work for the last 15 years, will be brought into full focus even more.

This Third World Congress will be one of the most important events in the life of the Friends of the Soviet People, since this movement started in 1918 with the establishment in many countries of the world of the – "Hands Off Russia Committees."

Many world conferences of parties and anti-imperialist movements were held over these years, many very important documents and analyses were discussed, debated and adopted. This forthcoming World Congress will very likely bring in an improved method of our work and effectiveness on a broad unified political effort in order to help the Soviet comrades achieve unity for the resurrection of the Soviet Union.

Starting in this issue we shall publish some important analytical articles that were adopted at the 20^th Prague Theoretical and Political; Conference held in May of this year. Other articles to follow will be by different authors that are devoted to peace and socialism and anti-imperialism.

I know that you will be much better informed and thus be better prepared to struggle for the resurrection of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People.
