Picket lines of resistance on the way of the Brussels’s emissaries
The NATO raid through the territory of Russia had been reduced from the very beginning. On the 11th of May, in Vladivostok and on the nest day in Novosibirsk, the first stage of NATO’s propaganda offensive was given a start. It was supposed to be continued in Ekaterinburg (13.05), Samara (15.05), Volgograd (17.05), Moscow (18.05), Murmansk (22.5), Pskov (24.05) and Kaliningrad (26.05). The foreign emissaries and their Russian sponsors were given a very stiff reception at once.
Away with the NATO buffoons!
Public opinion concerning NATIO has left behind the possibility of the sugary and false relations with NATO, as it was with Russian leaders long ago. NATO is simply hated by Russian people. So their propaganda groups decided to visit Russia in order to tune public minds on their wave. They had excellent opportunity of studying it, but the temperature at anti-NATO moods is still rising. The first stop of the NATO "armored train" was in Vladivostok. The Institute of Management and Business (a branch of the Far East University) was chosen as a place for the assembly, perhaps with the idea that the future managers and businessmen would be certainly more susceptible to NATO propaganda, than historical or technical students. They saw to it, that object of their "missionary activity" was properly protected from patriotic counterpropaganda. For instance, the deputy of the State Duma, member of the Communist Party (CPRF), V.V. Grishukov, was not allowed to take part in the assembly.
That’s now our guests were anxious to assure everyone in every document and in their speeches that they have been concerned about all points of views, including anti-NATO ones. The words of NATO emissaries contradicted their actions.
Nevertheless they had to hear the opinion of left oriented forces, and in a very strict form. At the entrance of the temple of business masses of pickets summoned by communist organizations and other left forces awaited the guests and their Russian friends. Both entrances of the Institute building were blockaded without any possibility of entry. This picket line had been coordinated with the municipal administration beforehand so none of the policemen there showed even a slightest desire of helping the "dear" guests.
That caused great excitement of private guards and the Institute pro-rector Golikow. They were bustling about and finally moved the line of pickets somewhat back so that the proud representatives of missile-bomb-culture could enter the building. The audience (teachers and students) had been gathered by command, people were coming in the lecture hall with their eyes let down in shame. But a short time must have passed before students began to leave the show one by one. At the exit they were pleased with the opportunity of wiping the soles of their shoes with a rag of Stars-and-Stripes, which lay near the doorway. Also this flag suffered from the tires of cars driving near.
Up to the middle of the show only one third of the audience had left there. The students were ready with a number of unpleasant questions but the guests had been trying to avoid annoying democracy all the time. Nevertheless, a student of physical faculty had managed to reach the microphone and ask the "missionaries" why they consider themselves having the right to invade other countries (Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq) and whether they have any idea about the terrible consequences of their "peacemaking" missions (like destruction of old orthodox temples in Kosovo or the wild robbery in Baghdad Museum of History and Culture) and also if NATO admits dangerous influence of uranic-tipped missiles use on human health.
To all these straight and exposing questions quite abstract answers were given (as is usual with NATO leaders).
By the time the miserable American flag, rubbed out and dirty, was burned down by the pickets.
It is worth to mention that this NATO assembly called up active hostility not only from the left-oriented people but also from honored citizens of Vladivostok. The city Council of Elders had sent letters addressed to the head of the city administration and the Rector of the University, Mr. Kurilov. The content of both letters was as follows: NATO is an aggressive organization, it is outrageous to make a stage of their propaganda out of honorable institutions of higher education in Russia, these criminals are going to encircle Russia with a ring of war camps, they are our enemies.
The next leg of this NATO raid was arranged at Novosibirsk. A week before the Regional Committee of CRRF had published the conviction of this "tour". A press conference was held, during which the deputy chairman of the Regional Council, V. Karpow (CPRF), the leader of the CPRF fraction in municipal council, R. Suleimanow, and the laureate of the USSR National Prize, deputy chief designer of the Scientific Research Institute of Measuring Devices (one of the biggest developers of the Soviet air-defense systems), I. Bisoryn, were present, NATO was characterized as the worst "partner" of Russia.
On the 12th of May, the organizers had been trying to keep in secret the place and exact time of the conference-show. But the pickets in the streets were not confused.
At 9 a.m., a lot of people gathered near the House of Scientists (of the Siberian branch of the Academy of Science) led by communist deputies. The placards were biting: "The good NATO is the dead NATO!", "NATO and Death walk together". Every time the uninvited guests appeared, the shouts: "NATO, get out off Russia!" were heard.
Deputy General Secretary of NATO and German general Harrmann could enter the building only with the help of their guards. Some of the pickets had hit the NATO general in the head with a placard. The "host of the party", the rector of Novosibirsk State University, Mr. Dicanskiy was called "flunkey" several times. The meeting itself was a bitter pill for NATO representatives; the questions of audience were strict and the atmosphere of hostility was clear to feel.
This was the first experience of active opposing to NATO propaganda, which other cities will initiate.
In Vladivostok and Novisibirsk our "peacemakers" got greeting they deserved. Other cities have been preparing the same "warm" welcome and waiting for NATO guests. An announcement received from Volgograd Regional Committee for Protection of Military Service and Internal Affairs veterans, signed by the reserve colonel V.V. Dubachev, contains the following statements: "… all patriots who live on the sacred and heroic land of Stalingrad should give a resolute rebuff to NATO voyagers when they come to us on the 17th of May", "Instead of educating our young people on examples of Marshal Zhukov, Alexander Matrosov and Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya, these unworthy university rectors give their lecture halls to NATO’s assassins, whose actions are famous for their meanness and treachery".
These are very fair and important statements. We have a lot of talk about NATO crimes but we must not conceal the fact that as soon as their propaganda starts to spread over Russia, masses of allies inside the country join the chorus of NATO. And in the very fist rows of allies, besides the usual friends of NATO from the Ministry of Defense and the Foreign Ministry of Russia were the above mentioned rectors of universities of Vladivostok, Novosibirsk and other cities, who, by the way, took personal responsibility for successful arrangement of NATO’s voyage. It’s needless to say that such a behavior as theirs in this case contradicts the task of patriotic education of youth and it is strange that patriotism is a favorite theme of our "elite" representatives. These rectors swear that institutes do not interfere in politics and at the same time give their lecture halls to the worst of politicians.
On the 10th of May, President Putin, speaking from the Kremlin rostrum to the people, has reproached some not mentioned directly but perfectly recognizable "western wolf" for their appetites; and proclaimed the necessity of quick reinforcement of Russian army’s fighting efficiency. But the very next day his own rule representatives began making an image of innocent Red Riding Hood out of this "wolf". The "anti-NATO" speech of the President was followed by the session of NATO propaganda, and their active searching of allies amongst Russia students, their work over public opinion.
So where is the exact direction of Putin’s foreign politics? Is it improving of our independence and defense abilities, or is it the fatal way of "friendship" with NATO?
