And now, behind the bars they receive letters of support and greetings from many countries of the world. Thank you very much.

We admire your consistent tireless activity. We are very thankful to you for not even for a minute doubting the socialist future of our country and having created an organization, the goal of which is solidarity with the Soviet Union during this challenging for us time.

While saluting with our most revolutionary sentiments the Mini Conference that is being organized on its 15^th Anniversary, which for 15 years has grown as a result of great sacrifices, efforts and will, we also feel sorry for not being together with you, with friends and comrades. However, although we are far away from each other by thousands of kilometres, our hearts beat with the same rhythm and the slogans that all of us shout in the fight that are always the same and cry out for the great day which is to come in the future. That is to say, that while one side of our heart is with the Palestinian, Lebanese, Iraqi and Kurdish people, those who are resisting against the imperialist occupation and colonialism; with the workers and labourers who are fighting against the capitalist-imperialist system’s neo-liberal attacks; the militarization of the economy through strikes and boycotts; with the revolutionaries and communists who resist against the isolation prisons and torture centres in fascist Turkish state and of the world – the other side of our heart is with you.

Comrades!

As all of us know, the revolutionary and communist publications which come out continuously and in regular periods, both on the national and international level, are of great importance. Therefore we are of the opinion that Northstar Compass has put its stamp on many successes during these 15 years of publication, that, exposing in general the capitalist-imperialist system and its policies based on exploitation, it has also made tremendous contributions to its readers, to the revolutionary and communist parties and organizations in every country by getting news from other countries – particularly from the countries of the erstwhile Soviet Union – and to learn from each others’ experiences.

The importance of Northstar Compass and such publications can also be understood when we consider the imperialist-capitalists’ increasing opportunities – together with the technological developments in our day – to influence and manipulate the mass consciousness and the psychology; and when we consider the reality that they constantly inject ideological poison into the brains every day and hour with their satellites, TV’s and press.

Yes, it is true that our opportunities are very limited. In many countries of the world, the revolutionary and communist publications and their workers, determined to challenge the above-mentioned attacks, are coming face to face with financial and, especially, physical attacks. But we can succeed; we can destroy the decaying system, which puts working class and labourers into misery and enslaves the people, and we can continue with our march for Communism, the future of mankind. For we represent the future!

We congratulate all comrades who put their labour and contributed to the Northstar Compass through its 15 years of publication!

As I remember, I sent greetings on your previous anniversaries which NSC published. My articles tried to expose the imperialist designs of US imperialism of President Clinton and the present arch enemy of mankind, President Bush. We have to be very proud that Northstar Compass is being read on the five continents of this earth of ours and its articles are being translated and published in many countries of the world.

In the last while NSC policy has allowed articles that will have beneficial results in informing the readers on many facets of the struggles and widening the contacts amongst the progressive forces. More in depth articles will have the benefit of explaining and uniting the forces for the future necessary struggles. We need a mighty, united communist movement, which was not too long ago a very influential force in the struggles against imperialism and the danger of war.

We know that the historical process is on our side, but, this victory will not come on its own. Therefore we must do everything that is in our power, and more, so that this victory will come sooner than later. This will put an end to this era of imperialism and wars, but this will be done only by the unity of the working class, and this class will throw imperialism into the dustbin of history.

With all the best of greetings to all comrades gathered on this very important occasion – good health, dedication and belief that our cause is just and that we shall be victorious!

Wholeheartedly, we express our very high evaluation to the group of the dedicated comrades from the Canadian Soviet Friendship Society headed by our dear friend Michael Lukas. Their work on Northstar Compass has started at the time of dirty betrayal by a number of leaders and the main traitor, Gorbachev.

A great contribution by your magazine lies in your most decisive condemnation of this betrayal and uncompromising defence of the first in the world socialist state – USSR, which came to being as a result of the Great October. It was the historical movement of the labourers around the world "Hands off the Soviet Union!" which inspired your honourable decision to start the magazine. It was at the time when within the country of the Soviets military intervention by capitalist predators was taking place. Your decision is truly worthy to be called the one of historic importance. The imperialism could not agree to existence of such a state and since the first days worked hard on trying to destroy it. They succeeded due to the betrayal mentioned above.

A natural result of your organization’s self-sacrificial labour was founding of the international organization Council for Friendship and Solidarity with the Soviet Union, which organizes and unites the progressive forces in order to rebuild socialism, not only in the USSR.

In the conclusion of our greeting, dear friends, we want to, once more, express to you our deep appreciation for your self-sacrificial work, which we value very highly. We are confident that you will continue marching along the way of development of the most progressive scientific worldview – Marxism-Leninism, so that the Northstar will continue to shine onto the path of worldwide progress in its struggle for fruitful friendship of the peoples, for the happy life of the labourers without oppression and exploitation around the entire world.

We send you our sincere greetings and brotherly message of solidarity on the occasion of the 15^th Anniversary of the publication of the first issue of Northstar Compass. Your first issue helped founding the social-political movement Trudovaya Rossia (Labouring Russia) and helped us with organising mass demonstration of the Moscow labourers in Red Square on November 7, 1991. That was a challenging time when the world reaction launched its attacks and the enemies of socialism triumphed all over the world. Gorbachev, Yeltsin, Reagan, Thatcher and both Bushes were rejoicing: USSR is destroyed, the Communist Party, founded by Lenin and Stalin, has capitulated. However, the enemies of the USSR miscalculated. Ordinary Soviet communists, who function practically in the condition of underground, started organizing the Resistance to the traitors of the Socialist Motherland who in the agony of blind madness were tearing apart the first in the world state of workers and peasants -- the USSR. The imperialists of the USA and other NATO countries, Israel’s Zionists, assistant traitors of the USSR to unleash a merciless information war targeted towards destruction of the Soviet people and provided the bastards with sky-is-the-limit financial, diplomatic and military support.

However, when despite all obstacles the first issue of Northstar Compass made it to Moscow, our tears of despair were replaced by tears of joy and appreciation to our distant Canadian friends for their solidarity in struggle. Weekly magazine Northstar Compass also has provided us with the significant moral and informational support. It became a guiding start not only for the newspaper Molnia (The Lightning), but also for dozens of other smaller publications by the Soviet patriots.

Dear Comrades, we thank you tremendously for your titanic, humane struggle for rebirth of the brotherly family of Soviet people, the only state in the world, capable of harnessing the world imperialism, which starts on the planet one war of aggression after another. Thank you for uniting friends of the USSR and peace loving people all over the world! We will live up to your expectations! As long as Northstar Compass shines, the struggle continues, the enemies of the USSR will, without a doubt, be defeated and the victory will be ours!

Thanks to your ceaseless efforts, NSC has been able to develop readers in many countries of the world and at present it is being published in 3 languages. It’s a great achievement! I wish you great success in the programmes that you will take on this occasion.
