Concluding Words of the Conference
Now it is with great honour and pleasure that I propose a toast: First I would like to raise a toast to Michael Lucas, Chairman of the International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People and Editor of NSC. Your dedication for the past 15 years, in fact in all of your life is unparallel. We command you for this. Next I and all of us toast Helen Lucas, the Financial Secretary, who is now home recovering from her knee operation, but is in our hearts here.
A toast to Dr. Adelard Paquin, the Editor of the French Edition of Northstar Compass, who devotes his time and finances to publish this French NSC edition.
A very special toast to Vladimir Chechentsev who is here from Moscow as Chairman of the Soviet Society for Friendship with Foreign Countries, who is responsible for publishing the Russian Edition of NSC. Comrade Viktor Bourenkov, the Vice Chairman of the Soviet Society and Professor David Dzhohadze of the Russian Academy of Sciences were not able to get their visas to be here with us.
A special toast also to the Editorial Board of NSC who work hard to prepare and publish NSC.
In conclusion let us raise a toast to the restoration of the Soviet Union and to the growth of Socialism in the world by uniting all of the anti-imperialist forcers!
Please stand up to sing the International and the Soviet National Anthem.

Following Resolutions Were Adopted By NSC 15th Anniversary Conference
Below we publish in full just three Resolutions, due to space reasons only.
In Solidarity with the Russian Auto Workers
We hereby express our solidarity with progressive union such as "Zaschita Truda" and in particular we express our solidarity with the Russian Auto Workers who today are fighting in self-defence for the collective voice of a trade union in their work places, in the face of the local and international automobile companies, including General Motors.
As a Friendship Society dedicated to the restoration of Socialism in former USSR, we recognize the important role of trade union activity in the process by which the workers prepare to take power and bring justice and peace to their society and the world.
In Protest Against the Murders of Filipino Progressives
We hereby condemn the US imperialist backed regime of Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and the Philippine police and military for the extra-judicial killings and abductions that are being committed with impunity in the Philippines under her administration.
We take this stand in concert with institutions such as Amnesty International and the World Council of Churches as well as various international fact-finding missions, and with the worldwide protest demonstrations initiated by the International League of Peoples' Struggles (ILPS) held on September 21, 2006.
The victims of this state-sponsored criminal conspiracy are among the finest sons and daughters of the Philippine working class and peasantry who represent a brighter future for their country and humanity.
Resolution of Solidarity with the People of Turkey
Three years ago, in solidarity with the Iraqi people, the people of Turkey resisted the efforts of US imperialism and the Turkish state to use Turkey as a staging area for the US imperialism-led invasion and occupation of Iraq. Today, the Turkish state, on the urging of US imperialism, is attempting to use Turkish soldiers as cannon fodder in the US-Israeli Zionist occupation of Lebanon, by sending its troops there as part of the so-called UN "peacekeeping" force.
In this setting, the Turkish state has instigated its New Anti-Terror Law. We condemn the implementation by the Turkish state of this New Anti-Terror Law. In this light, we condemn the recent arrests and imprisonments of revolutionaries, progressive journalists, writers, radio-workers, intellectuals and leaders of dockyard and textile trade unions. We condemn the physical attacks on progressive organizations of working women and youth and the confiscation of their property by police raids. We condemn imprisonment of the protestors against sending Turkish troops into Lebanon. We condemn banning of the socialist newspapers. We, further, condemn the extra-judiciary murders of anti-imperialist activists being carried out as part of exercising of this New Anti-Terror Law, which in itself is a terrorist law.
We, hereby, express our solidarity with the just struggle of the Turkish and Kurdish people against this Anti-Terror Law. Their fight is the fight in defence of the rights of all oppressed and exploited people around the world who face similar repressive laws and police state terror tactics. Our Turkish and Kurdish sisters and brothers are fighting for a better world for all of us and we stand with them in this honourable struggle.
To express our unshakable position of standing shoulder to shoulder with our oppressed and resisting Turkish and Kurdish brothers and sisters, we close our Conference and the celebration of the 15th Anniversary of the magazine Northstar Compass in Toronto, Canada by playing the "International" in Turkish.
