Attempted Coup d’Etat in Ukraine
From INTERFAX-UKRAINE
The Verhovna Rada of Ukraine passed a resolution last April 4 that the action of the President of Ukraine was anti-constitutional.
The President tried to override the Article 9 of the Constitution and thus has committed a crime, which in fact was an attempt at a coup d’etat. The Verhovina Rada then passed a resolution of non-recognition of the Government.
The top Rada body warned all chiefs of the state power bodies, chiefs of regional and district state administration, all the public civil servants that their passed resolution against the President is obligatory and the non fulfillment by these bodies brings on them criminal responsibility.
It demanded that the President immediately revoke his non-constitutional decree on disbanding the Ukrainian Parliament.
Protests are mounting against President Viktor Yushenko’s decision to dissolve parliament and call new elections. Moscow said that Ukraine risks violence. The American government has its hand in the in internal affairs of Ukraine and is awaiting the right moment to pull strings.
Both President Yushchenko and Prime Minister Yanukovych have appealed to the European countries for help, but both ignored any help or mediation from Russia.
94.3% of Ukrainians Voted Against NATO
In a referendum in Ukraine about Ukraine joining NATO, 94.3% of the people voted against. Only 1.9% of the people voted in support of joining NATO – mostly in Western Ukraine. The Ukrainian people also overwhelmingly voted yes for strengthening ties between Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and all of the former Soviet Republics.
What’s Ahead in the Upcoming December Regional Elections in Russia?
(Condensed from newspaper "Za Rabochij Klas – For the Working Class Moscow)
"The three main parties plus other smaller parties are going to contest the upcoming December regional elections. There is the "Truthful Russia Party" which is Social Democratic in all aspects. There is also the "One Russia Party" of the ruling Russian Oligarchy and is actually the party of Russian President Putin.
The third party that will contest these regional elections is the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (led by Zyuganov). The concerned people are saying that this CPRF has turned itself into a party of only professors, academics, intellectuals and yes, even with a heavy Orthodox hierarchy influence in its policy-making. But missing fro\m it is the important working class."
Entering the presidential campaign as a candidate in the 2008 March Presidential Election is Oleg Shenin, formerly in the CC CPSU and now head of the reconstituted Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
In future issues of NSC we shall dwell in full detail into this important presidential election in March of 2008.
Russia Accuses U.S. of Sabotaging Satellite
From THE SCOTSMAN
President Putin followed a long list of Russian diplomats and generals who warned that the US is returning to the Cold War era in Europe. On top of these warnings, the Russian space experts have accused the United States of disabling a satellite during experimental tests last march.
Communications were lost with the Russian satellite last March 9 just as the US itself was carrying out its missile experiments. The satellite named Tatiana was functioning normally for two years and only now it was disabled by the US experiments. This satellite was just a weather satellite that was analysing space radiation levels on behalf of the Moscow State University.
After denying this charge, the US admitted that it launched a ballistic missile at the same time.
Now the concept of space conflict between the super powers, including China is no longer fiction, but is in actual fact, a real danger for mankind.
Two months ago the Chinese military revealed that it had deliberately destroyed one of its own weather satellites with a ballistic missile.
The Unification of the Anti-Fascist Forces in Ukraine
BY V.A. PRONIN
Last March 3, 2007 in Kiev in front of the former V.I. Lenin Museum there took place a meeting of the Antifascist Forum of Ukraine, in which there were representatives from more than 30 political parties, peoples organizations and movements. Included there were the Communist Party of Ukraine, The Komsomol Youth, Veterans Organization of Ukraine, All Ukrainian Movement "Intelligentsia for Socialism, Union of Soviet Officers, Union of Working Women, For the Future of Children of Ukraine, Slav Committee of Ukraine, International Peace Forum (European Section) and many others. In the course of this meeting there also took part many parliamentary deputies of Ukraine, many representatives from foreign Embassies, amongst them there were from Russia, Byelorussia, Cuba, and others plus many journalists.
Opening speech was given by the Peoples Deputy, chairman of the All Ukrainian "Intelligentsia for Socialism" Georgy Bujko. All of us here at this forum are united in our struggle at the growing neo-fascism in our country. We see that these nationalists, neo-fascists have managed to worm themselves into the structures of the government and are now more and more influencing the policies of the government on behalf of the oligarchs and are demanding the complete rehabilitation of the fascist elements from the OUN-UPA, they try to expel the use of Russian language by the big majority of Ukrainian people and practicing religious discrimination in Ukraine.
At this meeting there started all of a sudden in unison by the participants standing on their feet, the singing of the song "Buchenwald Alarm".
Taking the floor to speak was the deputy-chairman of the Supreme Legislative Body of Ukraine, Second Secretary of the CC Communist Party of Ukraine, Adam Martyniuyk. He touched on the terrible role that was performed by the fascist OUN-UPA, who are not ashamed to openly promote the Nazi ideology of Goebbels to confuse the people and especially the youth of Ukraine. This Goebbels method of anti-communism and anti-Russianism, all falsification lies used by the Nazis of our history which produced the situation as it is in present Ukraine.
This nationalistic position and method got stronger after the West-promoted and carried out "Orange Revolution" and thus they got into the government and then the whole process of nationalism, falsification, exploitation and racism against the Russian speaking Ukrainian population started. Unfortunately these elements to a large extent were successful.
Therefore there is now a great demand and need to organize an anti-fascist movement. We must do all in our power to make certain that fascism shall not pass! Therefore the top Ukrainian government body must take all the steps to make certain that this happens.
"Our task is correct and victory will be ours!" concluded the main speaker.
There was adopted a Memorandum by all of the participants which demanded that an Antifascist Committee be elected which is empowered to organize and coordinate all the activities across Ukraine in the struggle against the growing threat of fascism and to have contact with all anti-fascist movements in the world.
This Antifascist Committee must struggle against the movement in Ukraine for the rehabilitation of these nationalist-fascists in OUN-UPA and to activate the struggle against Ukraine joining NATOI. The Anti-fascist committee must struggle and expose all these elements that are in the governing bodies of Ukraine.
This Manifest calls upon all people to unite all the progressive forces to struggle against the aggressive expansion of the neo-fascist ideology in Ukraine.
Elected unanimously as the Chairman of the Anti-fascist Forum was Georgy Buyko a Deputy to the Ukrainian Parliament.

Russia Pays Tribute to Lenin’s 137th Birthday
By PRENSA LATINA
Thousands of people marched and gathered at the Kremlin
Mausoleum in Moscow, on the Red Square, carrying portraits of Lenin, red flags
and red carnations in their hands.
This is the most numerous gathering of people since the closing of the Lenin Mausoleum in Moscow in November of 2006 for restoration. This demonstration and homage was organized by the CPRF and its Duma members.
These Lenin celebrations were held all over former USSR and in particularly in the city of Kaliningrad by celebrating the reopening of the monument to V. I. Lenin which was dismantled by the preset regime there in 2004.
There are more and more monuments to Lenin and Stalin being restored and erected, despite the propaganda against this by the bourgeois elements that rule the country.
