White House Probes Michael Moore

The award-winning film director is being investigated by the US authorities for a possible violation of the US trade embargo against Cuba.

Michael Moore took a group of 9/11 rescue workers to Cuba last March to film part of his new documentary about healthcare in the United States. He received the letter from the White House, asking him to explain himself.

As we all know, the US imposed a trade embargo on Cuba 40 years ago in order to isolate Cuba.

Michael Moore made the trip to Cuba to film part of the film Sicko, an examination of America’s health care industry, which according to Moore, "will expose the corporations that place immense profit before health care and the US politicians who care only about money.

Michael Moore took about 10 US ailing workers to Cuba with him for treatment, since this group was suffering from conditions linked to their work in clearing up the debris from the World Trade Centre bombings on September 11, 2001.

The Moore film SICKO had opened to rave revues at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
