Massive May Day Marches Held Across Russia

Despite the police presence and arrests of hundreds of marchers in cities across Russia, the May Day celebration organized by the Communist parties in Moscow brought out over 50,000 people.

The large parade was by the United Russia party that was allowed to march on Red Square while other parties and marchers had to be held outside the Red Square perimeter. These marchers had to go through metal detectors and they were all surrounded by police. A total of 12 different May Day Parades were held across Moscow. There were demands for Putin’s resignation in all of the parades, except the one sanctioned by Putin that was held on Red Square.

There were May Day Marches organized all cities across Russia, including in the Caucasus and the Republic of Chechnya, where May Day demonstration took place for the first time in 16 years.

Estonian Grave-Diggers

By YEVGENY PRIMAKOV – MOSCOW

What is this action by the Estonian gravediggers? Is it only a blind hatred for Russia or a cold-blooded provocation designed to condition the Estonians for further moves to force the ethnic Russian speaking population from the country!

When they were demolishing the monument, they erected a huge tent, in order to hide this criminal act from TV and photo cameras, and it was also done under cover of night –while the monument was cut in many pieces and carted away. At the same time the remains of Soviet Red Army soldiers were dug up and removed someplace

All this was done purposely before the Victory Day Commemoration. Not only did this outrage a certain section of Estonians themselves, it outraged millions of Russians and insulted all people of former Soviet Union who paid the supreme price of 27 million dead for the victory over the brown plaque of Nazism that had threatened the whole world.

This is nothing but an outright attempt at ethnic cleansing in order to force all ethnic Russians from Estonia.

Russia’s reaction was swift, but it should be clear that no country - big or small – will be allowed to insult the sacred feelings of all the Soviet people.

COMMEMT:

Yes, much more could have been done immediately by the present Russian regime, not just diplomatic statements. This is an affront to all of the Soviet people – it was the USSR, it was the Soviet People who shed their blood for the liberation, and, it must be asked again and again – how many Red Army Soldiers got short in the back by the Estonian fascists as they were shedding their blood to liberate Estonia?

Kyrgyzstan May Expel US Military As Did Uzbekistan

In the US military newspaper "Stars and Stripes" of May 22nd there was a report that Kyrgyzstan is pushing for the US air base closure and allowed a large demonstration and protest rally to take place on June 2 of this year. This base in Kyrgyzstan serves as a vital lifeline to US troops in Afghanistan.

COMMENT-

Why did they allow this US military base in the first place? Who in the government got their 30 pieces of silver?

President Lukashenko Speaks Up!

Belarus President Lukashenko said the following to all of the world media last month:

" I will never agree to let my country and my people be humiliated. They have not deserved it. Our people have always sacrificed themselves in the name of victory, for the sake of the entire humanity, not only for our own." This was said at the celebration on May 8, the Day of Victory over Fascism in Minsk.

"When I was elected as President, I made a promise to all the Soviet veterans, we will keep the country they have left us, we will straighten some problems out and will secure the level of the best of Soviet times. Sometimes we have a hard and difficult time, but trust me, it doesn’t all depend on the authorities or even on our nation of Byelorussia. It also depends on the present situation in the world, that we, an independent and sovereign Belarus, cannot influence like the big former Soviet Union could."

Russia Agreed To Cool It Down

From Associated Press

In this despatch the article said that Russia and the United States have agreed to moderate their rhetoric in order improve their relations – according to the statement issued by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov when talking to the US war-hawk State Secretary Condoleezza Rice, after she met with Mr. Putin.

"We agree with President Bush to tone down and concentrate on concrete business," said Mr. Lavrov.

COMMENT-

Isn’t diplomacy nice when you talk about it over cocktails and steak dinner, soft lights and all smiles, handshakes and photo poses etc. etc.

Mr. Putin and Mr. Lavrov should ask Miss Rice as to what would Mr. Bush would do if Russia decided, by hook or crook, to place missile bases right on the border with USA - in Canada and Mexico?

But this question is not fair on our part, since this would break up the friendship between Putin and Bush – after all both Bush and Putin in 2008 will no longer be Gods that will direct the world history.

Please forgive me friends – I don’t know whether Putin’s Orthodox God will talk to Bush’s God!

Here Are the Results of Yeltsin’s Reforms!

The territory of the country diminished by 23.7%; the number of children born diminished by 5 million; 3 million children now do not attend school between ages 7 and 17. There are 54,000,000 people homeless (no homelessness existed in the USSR); 14 million people now live below poverty level.

The infant mortality rate has risen by 2.5 times; children mortality caused by drug addiction – by 48 times. The number of children born with SOA (syphilis etc.) – rose by 77 times. The number of people with tuberculosis – rose by 25 times. The industrial production became 3 times smaller than before Yeltsin; the budget of the Russian state – 13 times smaller.

I would not be surprised that with all of the above achievements by Boris Yeltsin, that very soon there will be a monument erected to him – right on the Red Square –courtesy of the present Putin regime of Russia! After all, Putin absolved Yeltsin of any crimes!
