Tragedy of China's "Socialist Economy'

The number of close to 5,000,000 University students projected for this 2007, close to 2,000,000 of these graduates will not be able to find work – according to the Chinese Ministry of Education. The same fate awaits the over 50,000,000 high school students who will go into the working world each year, but no jobs await them.

According to China's Ministry of Labour, the Chinese migrant workers from the countryside, working in the multinational corporations’ footwear industries for exports to the West – the average workday is 11-12 hours par day – and many times with no days off – and the work week is closer to 80 hours par week while the workers get an average of 60 cents par hour, compared to $2.46 per hour in Mexico.
