Yes, We Do Have Something To Crow About! In 1991 the Canada-USSR Association renamed itself as the “Concerned Friends of Soviet People” and it started to publish Northstar Compass with its first Editor Ray Stevenson, who passed away as the leading light of the Canadian Trade Union and Peace Movement as well as a member of the CC CPC until this party became revisionist.
We were the first Canadian publication that very openly criticized Yeltsin, Gorbachev, Yakovlev and other traitors and, we also criticize President Putin for his anti-Soviet policies and his present capitalist regime which has sold out the Soviet people into the arms of imperialism and thus endangered the whole humanity to US imperialism and its New World Order!
Our articles and our cartoons are appreciated all over the world, but these articles and cartoons also brought us hate mail, personal; attacks, fire to the Friendship House, as well as the following cartoon at the time of Yeltsin that stopped yours truly from getting a visa to visit former USSR, even though I visited the Soviet Union as a delegate and on delegations on behalf of the Friendship Society, 37 times since 1960!
We also get verbal abuse from some so-called “Party and progressive Marxists” people, both in the West and in former USSR. They accuse us of being “Stalinists”, and we are very proud and very honoured that they call us that!
Some of these so-called “Marxists”, by being anti-Stalin, by not recognizing the importance and dedication of comrade Stalin, by debunking everything that J. V. Stalin did from 1924 to 1953 are Marxists in name only and, they are doing what fascism-imperialism has tried to do but could not and cannot accomplish –in spite of the help by some of so-called “Marxists-Communists” who in reality are social-democrats and in reality have become tools of US Imperialism!
In spite of only volunteer labour by the Editorial Committee, and in spite of constant financial problems, and with no paid members at all, Northstar Compass has now an English, French, Russian and Spanish Editions that are read in 78 countries of the world.
These 16 years of success could not have been accomplished if the comrades involved were not dedicated to Socialism, to the legacy of J. V. Stalin, to the resurrection of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and to the International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People!
Congratulations to the Editors and other comrades who are helping to publish this Shining Red Star – the Northstar Compass journal!
Sincere thanks to all those who so sincerely and generously helped and are helping financially to support these Four Editions of NSC – in Toronto, in Montreal, in Moscow and in Santiago!
HAPPY 16TH ANNIVERSARY NSC!
