US Base in Azerbaijan – Russia Is Now Encircled!

US is aiming and pulling out all the stops to install its Radar Base and missiles base at the Gabala base in Azerbaijan. If this is successful – as all things point out – US will now have encircled Russia completely.

Why is it that the present Russian government is trying to make a deal with the USA that they will “share this Gabala Base” with US imperialism and their plans for world domination? United States intends to OWN, not SHARE this Gabala Base with Russia after the lease expires in 2012!

This really is unbelievable that the present stance of this Russian leadership is so weak-knee as to allow this to happen.

Let us look at another scenario – would the US allow a Russian radar and missile base be located right on the border of Texas and Mexico, if the leadership of Mexico acted like the present traitorous leadership of Azerbaijan is now acting? Would Pentagon allow this? Of course not – their troops would be right there inside of an hour!

Mexico was invaded many times and is now being exploited by US imperialism.

Azerbaijan on the other hand was saved from its backwardness after the October Revolution in 1917 and was allowed to join the USSR. It was industrialized, the infrastructure was built and the people were brought into the present century, with great material cost, with great efforts and dedication by the whole of the Soviet people.

The present traitorous regime in Azerbaijan is of course in the pockets of US imperialism as unfortunately is Russia and most of the other former Soviet Republics.

The US military mission was in Azerbaijan and they do not hide their assessment that Azerbaijan is of outmost strategic importance to have their radar and missile base located there.

Russia Asking the UN to Investigate the Latest Glorification of Nazism

From INTERFAX

Moscow will ask the UN General Assembly to investigate the present glorification of Nazism-Fascism in some countries, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Konuzin.

There are now many instances of glorifying those that fought against the Soviet Army and also there are now more and more instances where the Soviet Army is being portrayed as an occupier.”

Konuzin went on to charge that-“Those who fired at Soviet soldiers (and mostly in the back – Editor) they fired at the Anti-Hitler Coalition which became the bases for the setting up of the United Nations.”

Konuzin also regretted that a number of the European Union member states expressed support and solidarity with Estonia when the leadership of that country removed the monument to Soviet Army soldiers from the centre of Tallinn, capital of Estonia.

COMMENT:

It’s about time that a statement was made, very diplomatic and luke-warm, but nevertheless, it was an official statement. It is also sad that this Russian spokesman could not bring himself to call these Soviet Heroic Soldiers by their name during the Great Patriotic War – the Soviet Red Army!

Monument to Victims of Bandera Opened in Crimea

Last month on the “Soviet Square” in Simferopol, there took place a solemn ceremony for the opening of a monument to the victims of Ukrainian nationalist bandits that were allies of Hitler’s Nazism and killed the own people and also fought against the Soviet Red Army. These bandits were members of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, during and after the Great Patriotic War.

The monument is named “The Shot in the Back” and was erected from the donations given by the Communist Party of Ukraine and by the people of Crimea.

The large multitude of people that gathered were carrying Soviet flags and banners of the Union of Soviet Officers of Crimea and signs as:

“The USSR Is Our Motherland!”

“Communists against the Rehabilitation of Ukrainian Nationalist Traitors!”

“No One Is Forgotten – Nothing Is Forgotten!”

Nadezhda Raks Is Now Free!

Dear readers:

We have in the last issues of NSC reported on the many Soviet young heroic Komsomol political prisoners that are in jail in Russia, Ukraine and in other former Soviet republics.

We had sent letters of protest to the governments there, as well as letters of encouragement to these young heroes who are in jail, some of them already there for 6-10 years for fighting against the present reactionary regimes. We also sent each one of them copies of Northstar Compass.

Nadezhda Raks pictured here with flowers upon gaining her freedom, was and is a member of the Russian Komsomol Union of Youth (b). She was in prison for 7.5 years. For all those years she never abandoned her Marxist-Communist ideology and dedication.

Welcome Nadezhda to join all of us over the world in the struggle against imperialism and the struggle against the internal enemies who do not want to see the resurrection of the Soviet Union and the rebirth of Socialism in the USSR!

Our struggles are not finished. We must fight to have your other comrades freed from jail in order to join our struggles!

Unfortunately not enough is being done in the progressive movements outside the borders of former USSR, to bring this to the attention of the people to struggle to free all of the political prisoners from jail, wherever they might be!

YOU ARE A HERO NADEZHDA! MOLODETS!

Soviet Political Prisoner Writes to NSC

Dear comrades:

I received your kind letter and the journal Northstar Compass. I want to thank you very much. Please excuse my English. I am studying it now.

For five years I have already been in prison for my political activity, in this capitalist Russia and now my temporary home is the concentration camp compound, but without gas ovens or crematorium.

I and my comrades are very glad that you know about us and do support us. Thank you!

The summer here was very hot and I cannot work because of my health. I write political articles and read a lot of books and journals and I do receive a lot of letters.

Here the prison administration do not suppress me and often support my revolutionary ideas.

Our appeal to the European Court is expected to come with a decision soon, but my comrade Sergei Berduyin died from torture that he undergone while in prison.

Ukraine I feel is on a verge of civil war, but our people are afraid of it. But the civil war will be the sure death of the present capitalist system here – but the people are not ready yet. But I feel that soon the people will be ready.

I am an optimist!

Good bye comrade Lucas!

Saakashvili of Georgia Exposed by His Ally

From “CIVIL GEORGVIA”

TBILISI – Irakli Okruashvill, ex-Minister of Defence of Georgia and President Saakashvilli’s closest ally, accused the president of “anti-state steps” and “ordering many murders”.

He is now forming his own “Movement for a United Georgia” and said that he will now answer all questions regarding the present president and his anti-state method of governing.

He spoke last month all about the ”crimes which were masterminded by the present authorities” in a TV interview last month in Tbilisi.

He said that: “I was ordered as the Minister of Defence to liquidate certain influential and important persons, but I refused to do these crimes.”

He charged that the present regime has “fascist trends” and ongoing “anti-state planned steps” and that “the Georgian people are terrorized as a result of all these repressions. The fight against corruption is unreal, since the jails are full with minor petty criminals, while the corruption is thriving and growing amongst the very top level government officials, amongst his inner circle and also members of his family!”

“Three years ago I arrested Temur Alasania, the president’s uncle for extortion of US $200,000. I had to release him after the President’s insistent demand.”

He charged also that there was a deliberate attempt to rewrite the Georgian history, as if nothing Georgian ever existed until he the president came to power.

Here Is What a Retired Lt. Colonel of Indian Army Proposes for Russia!

FROM THE STATESMAN-INDIA COMMENT:

We wonder whether this retired Indian Colonel is looking for a well-paying job as advisor to Mr. Putin – since this Indian Colonel could not solve the problems in India and Pakistan. Of course this “expert advisor” forgot that there was the USSR – a bastion of peace that stood up strong to US imperialism, because it was Socialist and not a stooge or a tool for US and its New World Order.

Dear Colonel – stick and try to fixing up the tragedy that is still India

Russia Warns West against Pressure on Myanmar (Burma)

MOSCOW: The Russian Foreign Ministry in a statement said that it was closely watching the situation in Myanmar with its thousands-strong demonstrations led by the Buddhist Monks and the bloodshed, as the army shot at the demonstrators and clubbed the Monks and Nuns on the streets of Burma.

“We consider any attempts by the West to use the latest developments to exercise outside pressure or interference in the domestic affairs of this sovereign state to be counterproductive”, said the official statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The UN Security Council will meet to discuss this situation in Myanmar.

Russia Will Retaliate if West Deploys Weapons into Space

MOSCOW: The Commander of the Russian Space Forces said last month that “Russia will retaliate if any country deploys weapons into space – then the laws of warfare are such that retaliatory weapons are certain to appear. A sizeable world war could break out.”

The Col, General Vladimir Popovkin also said: “Russia has an integrated missile attack warning system, covering the country’s entire territory!”

No Rehabilitation for Russia’s Last Tsar’s Family

Last month Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office ruled that the remaining members of former Tsar’s Nicholas II family are not to be rehabilitated. USSR Government accused the Tsar and proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was a bloody tyranny over the nation and they were tried and executed on July 17, 1918 in Yekaterinburg, Siberia.

The so-called ”Grand Duchess Maria V. Romanov” who now lives in Spain, has sought to get this changed, but the Russian Court has rejected her claim for all the property that Romanov’s had accumulated all over Russia since their dynasty was established.

The very large German law firm that she hired are appealing this decision, that it is illegal and that the Romanov dynasty’s property should all be returned to the surviving Tsar’s family.

How Low Can The Present Ukrainian Elections Stoop?

The apathy and the boredom for the upcoming Third Ukrainian election in Three years – one per each year is shown by the following. The preset regime is trying to get people to be more interested to vote and in order to drum up more support for all of their reactionary-nationalist parties, are promoting and using the following gimmicks – as reported in The Globe & Mail newspaper, September 28, 2007 in Canada.

Dear reader:

Can I stop now, before I become crazy as some of these present Ukrainian nationalist elements?

Russia Wants Collective Security, Based on the UN Charter

From VOICE OF RUSSIA, September 29,2007

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has voiced his certainty that it is possible to advance towards the creation of an effective global system of collective security only through the adherence to the UN Charter principles. This statement was made during the 62nd Session of the UN General Assembly.

Russia is growing concerned about the US unilateral moves in the field of antiballistic missile defences – he also emphasized.

The Russian Foreign Minister pointed out that today no one can manage global problems by themselves and this calls for joint leadership, and the United Nations is the only foundation that can help.

Regarding the Middle East, he was certain that calling the different representatives to a conference will help to reach an agreement there.

Voice of Russia stated that this proves that Russia is playing a stabilizing role in today’s world.

COMMENT:

Humanity hopes so, but all of these well-meaning statements must be backed up by actions and deeds. But, is seems to most people that Russia is playing only second fiddle in the world situation. We hope that we are wrong and unrealistic. Future will tell.

In many demonstrations that are held in Russia more and more, there are always ten OMON security police for each demonstrator, as these photos graphically show.

Isn't this democracy great?
