People of all professions and of all ages marched on this glorious day in the history of the Soviet Union. Again, the fact was positively confirmed over and over again that our youth has rallied to the march of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. But as the official Russian media had tried to put forth that on this Tverskaya Square in Moscow, only old people marched, but it was sufficient to glance at the faces of the rows upon rows of marchers in order to be again convinced that the official state propaganda was cloaked in lies.
It is a sad state of affairs that President Putin and his cohorts do not allow the people to march in the Red Square where the Lenin Mausoleum is situated.
83 Communist and Workers Parties of the world participated in this demonstration. The leaders of the Communist Parties, among them, more than 30 Deputies to the European Parliament and National Parliament, and representative of 14 ruling parties stood in the first row of the marchers.
Songs of the few hundred Italian Communists in Moscow for the participation on this holiday – from “Bandera Rossa” to “Katyusha” reverberated above the marchers from the beginning of the demonstration right up to its conclusion Everyone in unison also joined together in singing the “International”.
This was different from the November 7th march last year, when dogs were set upon the marchers and force them unto the sidewalks. Apparently, Putin did not want any bad publicity in front of the European Parliamentarians or maybe the entire Moscow police force would not be able to handle such a mass crowd of people.
In impotent rage, the
State-run TV stations
having shown only a 5-second clip of the demonstration tried to
downplay this
mass demonstration. They interviewed foreign guests, a women in western
clothe,
and complaining that the demonstration made her late for a movie date.
Then
another man in an expensive limousine telling the TV camera that these
marchers
should be made to march of Moscow.
From BELTA
The headquarters of the International Public Association “Slavic Parliamentary Union” was opened up in Minsk, Byelorussia on November 19, 2007.Sergei Kostyan, President of the Slavic Parliamentary Union and member of the Belarus National Assembly presided at the opening. The decision to set this headquarters up in Minsk was taken at the last IX Slavic Congress held in 2005.
He said that the goals are to: “Foster understanding between Slavic Nations, develop laws aimed at promoting and enforcing economic, educational and cultural ties. We should do our best to preserve the Slavic civilization and should not let the Slavic nations be split!”
This Union represents parliaments of Byelorussia, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Bulgaria, Serbia, Czech Republic, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Slovenia and Macedonia. Amazing by their absence are the two Slavic people, the Croatians and the Slovaks – both who were allies of Nazi Germany during World War II.
The next VII
Session will take place in
Mogilev, Byelorussia in mid-May 2008.
From Russian
Reform Monitor-Washington
President Putin of Russia has reiterated that he will leave office when
his presidential term expires in 2008, but “I will continue to play a role in the
Russian domestic affairs, maybe as Prime Minister.”
Just in case some of NSC readers feel that Putin is the right man for Russia, you should see in some video footage on CNN, Putin trying his best to become the next Czar of Great Russia – with all the trappings being installed even now in the Kremlin – such as personal guards dressed in uniforms as they were during the last Czars time, plus the luxury that even some Kings would envy.
In case the NSC
reader might think that this is just NSC’s attitude, here is the direct
quote from Russian State Duma Speaker, Boris Gryzlov, who is the
appointed Head of the pro-Kremlin “United
Russia Party.” His statement was published in the government
newspaper “Rossiiskaja Gazeta”
which wrote: “Vladimir
Putin will remain a national leader regardless of the office he will be
holding. The leader is and must be and will be Vladimir Putin!”
COMMENT:
Is there any need to comment? This is
the present Russian “democratic” process. Unity oh unity of the progressive forces,
where are you?
This visa

DONETSK, UKRAINE – A methane blast in the coalmine killed 63 miners and injured scores more. 360 miners that were trapped in this mine at more than 1,000 meters deep had to struggle against a raging fire.
This tragic accident again and again highlights the tragedy of the present privatized mines that lack even elementary standard safety features. Ukraine now has some of the most dangerous mines in the world, forced to working at high speed and, since most of these mines are foreign owned, they are not responsible for any safety regulations that might still exist.
There are no trade union allowed in these mines and, many of the so-called leaders of those that still have a trade union, are bought by the management.
When will these
exploited coal miners in Ukraine again realize as to the tremendous
safety standards that they had under Socialism and the high esteem that
the whole country held them at?
