Belarus to Abolish Most Benefits

From Novaya Gazeta

Belarus is to abolish most of benefits for the disabled, veterans etc. and to pay a sum of money to tall instead. This is the same thing that President Putin did in Russia a couple of years ago.

That in really means that no free prescriptions, free house repairs for veterans, no 50% reduction in transport costs for all the school children/students and also the disabled children, no more free prescriptions for children under 3 years old, plus many other much-  needed services. This will of course affect all those that became disabled because of the Chernobyl disaster.

The Byelorussian Government blames the economic difficulties and lack of help from outside Belarus. But critics point out that Belarus received a  very large sum from Russia and also the agreements that were signed with Venezuela.

COMMENT:

We shall try to find out what is really behind this news item.

Latest from Putin’s Russia

According to the UN Economic Commission figures, the official poverty line in Russia is 3,800 rubles per month – which is only $146.00 per month! But most elder and veterans must live on much less than this.

But the poverty level (needed to buy a minimum basket of goods) is now higher by over 7%, but for the pensioners it is now 13% higher.

But the people see daily over the Russian media the absolute glorification of Czar Putin and his team – stating that they are making Russia very prosperous!

This Is Right from the Horse’s Mouth!

Gorbachev said the following at the U.S. Kansas City University lately – we just quote this important admission, without any need for comments on our part.

“Towards the end of 1986 we began to start the reforms, replacing the system (socialist) and we starred step-by–step approach of reforming the Soviet society, moving gradually towards freedom and democracy and capitalist market economics.”

West’s Double Standard Reporting

We print two direct quotes from Western media.

“Georgian leader wins presidential election”. This statement was broadcast to the world even before any results were known.

After the election was over, this is the statement given out by a Georgian political analyst, Temur Lakobashvili who was also a pollster there.

“This election was not ideal of course, but it was better than previous elections here. All previous elections in Georgia since the fall of the Soviet Union in Georgia were absolutely fraudulent and very one sided.”

Priceless! So eve their own spokesman actually admitted that Saakashvili’s victory “with more than 96% votes cast” was fraudulent. Why did they not say so after he was elected?

Exposé

A document that became law and leaked to the press was signed by George Bush on October 16, 2004 and does not get any media play at all, for  obvious reasons now in the USA. The law is tabled under the heading of “Global anti-Semitism Review Act”. Under this Act there was established a Special Division in Washington for reviewing acts of anti-Semitism worldwide and preparing annual reports about them to the US Congress. Here are just some of ideas or actions that the US government considers to be anti-Semitic:

  • Any sharp criticism of the present or past leadership of Israel is anti-Semitic.
  • Blaming Israel’s Zionism to describe the blanket bombing of Lebanon by Prime Minister Sharon of Israel in 1982, during which 17.5 thousand innocent refugees were killed is anti-Semitic.
  • Any criticism of Jewish religious leaders or literature (particularly) the Talmud, Shulhan-Aruha or Kabbalah is considered anti-Semitic.
  •  Any criticism of US Congress that they are under the influence of the American-Israeli Public Relations Committee is anti-Semitic.
  • Defining Israel as a racist state is anti-Semitic.
  • None recognition of Jews to the biblical right to the seizure of Palestinian lands is anti-Semitism.

The above are just some laws adopted by Washington and there is absolutely no need to comment on this outrageous document that is law now.
