Freedom to the Turkish and Kurdish Communists!
This e-mail of protest was sent to the following leaders of Turkey:
President Abduylah Gul, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, Minster of Justice Cemil Cicek, Minister of the Interior Abdulkadir Aksu.
The International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People expresses its solidarity
with the 23 Turkish and Kurdish communists who are being tried on February 28-29, 2008 and
protests their conviction and sentences.
We denounce the trial of these individuals based on the acts of the Anti-Terror Law, since they are
not the ones who exercise terror, but their persecutors are. The state wishing to eliminate terror
should look into the causes of activities, which they label as terrorist. In other words, it should look
into the mirror.
Annihilating and physically exterminating a significant portion of its own population instead of
incorporating them into a brotherly coexistence, facilitating endless pursuit of profit fir some, while
others leads a subhuman existence and letting foreign dictate your state policies are the roots of
the rebellious behaviors of those who will not tolerate oppression, murder and dependence.
Prosecution of courageous sons and daughters of their country who speak up against injustice,
will lead to nothing else but more uprisings, more imprisonments and more trials. No matter how
many jails you build and how many police force you recruit, you will always be outnumbered and
proven wrong. You cannot imprison everyone! You cannot silence every voice! For every
sentenced fighter tens ad hundreds will raise their fist and march into you!
The people on trial are living legions of unconquerable. Through your sentences, they recognize
the fighters’ cause is just. And you know this. Your desire to imprison them for lengthy periods and
for lifetime, shows how much you are afraid of them. Their message, actions and power drills fear
down into your bones, why else would you isolate them in such a merciless way?
You are afraid of the influence these fighters have on the minds and spirits of the young
generations and your fear is well grounded!
So be afraid! Be terrified! Let the payback of the Communists’ young followers be your terror!
