Proposals for the International Council Conference

From the subscribers of the Russian Edition of NSC in Donetsk, Ukraine, July 2008

In the city of Donetsk amongst the activists of Communist parties (AUCPB, CPU, SPU, non-party people, Union of Workers, Union of Soviet Officers and others) there took place a subscription drive for Russian edition of NSC. Twenty subscribers signed up and then a discussion took place in order to give our opinions to the questions that were sent to all from Michael Lucas, Chairman of the International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People

  1. In what direction must the work of the International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People be directed at?
  2. How better to promote NSC and how to gain more readers?
  3. What steps should be taken in order to re-establish the Communist International?
  4. How can we organize a world movement to stop the danger of the US New World Order –fascism?
  5. What’s the future of Northstar Compass on the Internet technology?
  6. The question of a new Editor for NSC.
  7. The question of a new Chairman of the International Council which should be situated someplace in Europe.
  8. What kind of help that the International Council should give to the Soviet Society for Friendship with Foreign Countries in further promoting the resurrection of the USSR ad Socialism?
  9. What kind of help can the International Council give to the present anti-regime forces in former Soviet Union?

After a long discussion with the friends and subscribers to Northstar Compass, here are the recommendations that were agreed upon unanimously:

(1) The NSC journal should not only report the struggles inside the former USSR, but also expose and enlighten readers of the growing anti-imperialist struggles all over the world, their successes and the failures of these struggles. To have only 25% of NSC pages covering the international struggles is much too little.

We recommend that articles regarding former USSR to be about 20%; articles from socialist countries (like North Korea, Byelorussia, Cuba China) to be another 20%; articles about countries that are on the road to socialism (Venezuela, Bolivia etc.) another 20%; articles about the capitalist countries another 20% and news about all political prisoners 20% of the NSC pages.

There should be constructive criticism of former Soviet Republics and countries that were socialist and now became capitalist. There should be constructive criticism and exposure of those former Communist leaders who now have sold out their principles and capitulated in front of world capitalism-imperialism.

(2) The work of the International Council should follow the path that it is following from its very beginning. Trying to help and to publicize the truth about the successes of the USSR in the sphere of economy, culture, laws, education, socialist ethics, the Soviet Army that was ready o defend the interests of the Motherland and its internationalism, plus the successes of all the former Soviet Republics in all spheres of life. International Council must do more to popularize and spread the influence of NSC-Russian Edition to as wide an audience as is possible, including Russian speaking immigrants all over the world – to try and get them to subscribe. More has to be done to garner support for the political prisoners whose numbers are growing each year.

(3) Before taking any promotional steps to try and give rebirth to a Communist International, it is first necessary to really try and cleanse the Communist parties from its opportunistic leadership and sell-out artists.

How can this be done?

There should be put together the Marxist-Lenin principles for the consolidation of communist parties, groups and of the revolutionary movements. Therefore the International Council can become the initiator of this long-overdue process.

(4) In order to try and save mankind from this New World Order of the US fascism, we should help the American people, together with other progressive people – for the possibility of a Socialist revolution in the USA.

(5) We must spread our information more quickly through the use of Internet technology – this is the future of our coming victory. But we should never forget that Internet is in the hands of US reactionary monopoly and its FBI, CIA, Homeland Security and Mossad agencies – all in the service of USA imperialism. Therefore the planning of meetings, congresses should be done by letter form. Internet is fast, yes, but it is wide open to friends and enemies!

(6) The question of a new Editor for Northstar Compass we would not even discuss this! We all agreed that Michael Lucas is doing an exceptionally excellent job as Editor.

(6) The question of a new Chairman of the International Council and the location of the International Council Center in Europe, closer to our Motherland, to be able to visit it often and to organize meetings and conferences in one of the European countries is a question that has merit, bit the candidate for the Chairman of the International Council must be decided by the Executive Committee of the International Council and reaffirmed by the next Third World Congress in 2009. But the candidate must have qualities that are needed to carry on this important work – and he or she must be a dedicated revolutionary and have the courage as is shown by the present Chairman of the International Council.

(8) The International Council and NSC should give encouragement both moral, economic, judicial and political help to the Soviet comrade, to have courage to stand up and struggle against the present bourgeois regime. Also we must help much more in support to the political prisoners that are languishing in jails.

In Moscow there exists a Committee for the Defense of Political Prisoners, headed by comrade Natalia Glagoleva, Editor of newspaper Mysl.

(9) The International Council should spearhead cooperation with all. Anti-Imperialist forces in the world and organize international meetings to exchange opinions and plan future struggles.

Although there now are held many conferences of such type, but they are not unifying the majority of anti-imperialist forces up to now, in spite of the excellent progress that they have made.

On the 90th Anniversary of the October Revolution herd in Moscow in 2007, there were representatives from 83 Communist and Workers Parties present at this historical event! This proves beyond a shadow of doubt that there are enough of these progressive movements that can make a difference in the world, not only in former USSR – but what is need now is a Coordinating Council to move forward and onwards! Here is where the International Council can play a leading role!

(10) We all agree that NSC Russian Edition has become much stronger and more popular since it started to give readers more translated articles that are always published in the English Edition of Northstar Compass that is published in Canada. We also are very pleased and proud of the fact that there are now an English, French, Russian and Spanish editions of NSC.

Comradely yours
