Why This Anti-Stalinism by Minsk City Council?
Statement by L. Shkolnikov – UCPU
Ignoring many requests and demands from left-wing and communist parties in Byelorussia, to this time there is no monument erected to J.V. Stalin who was the Commander–in-Chief of the Soviet Red Army which liberated not only Minsk, but practically the whole of Europe from the fascist hordes but saved mankind from this brown plague.
This Hero City of Minsk with their present leadership is promoting anti-Stalinism and will not recognize the historical role played by Stalin and one of the main promoters of Byelorussian statehood!
We are ashamed of this situation here in Minsk that not only is there no monument erected to Stalin, but not even a street or a boulevard a is named Stalingrad, while in Pars, France, there is a Stalingrad Boulevard which is visited by about seventy million tourists yearly.
We are asking the citizens of Minsk to demand that in Minsk their should be erected a monument to Stalin or a Boulevard to be named Stalingrad!
COMMENT:
Why cannot President Lukashenko take a stand on this demand
by the people of this Hero City of Minsk?
