How U.S. Organizes and Supports Fifth Columns in Belarus
Based on a lengthy article by Stephen Gowans
The US Government has nurtured a fifth column over the past years in
order to overthrow President Lukashenko of Byelorussia, because Belarus
does not favour U.S. investors plus the many multinational
corporations. The US Government in 2007 funded five opposition parties
plus having 556 opposition activists on its payroll. Besides this, it
has trained and funded over 70 civil society organizations, 71
anti-government journalists and 21 opposition media outlets in
Byelorussia. On top of all this, the US enrolled over 900 Byelorussian
youth at tuition-free the U.S. sponsored and trained European
Humanities University in Europe.
According to the CIA, which advises the Washington White House – Belarus is guilty of the following, amongst other crimes:
Not enough structural reforms
U.S. investors are barred from buying land and industrial enterprises.
Basic goods and services are subsidized by Byelorussian State.
Retail prices are regulated and do not flunctuate.
The government relies on state-owned enterprises.
The government will not sell natural resources, waters, forests and all land is under public control.
CIA complains that Belarus is a miniature version of the Soviet Union, with a state-run economy.
Tatyana Golubeva, General Secretary of the Communist Party
of Belarus – part of the governing coalition with President Lukashenko,
said: “Belarus is still on the Socialist Path of development. We are one of the very few that never gave up!”
