Things are developing in many different directions in Ukraine and as an example on October 14 the Ukrainian regime did not let the left forces march into Kreshchatyk Square to hold a meeting but the members of the Progressive Socialist Party did manage to do this – and Communists were there also. It was only the Communists stood and defended the Lenin Monument from being attacked by nationalistic forces and the Banderites. We formed a close circle around the Lenin Monument and stood solid with our Red Flags flying as well as our revolutionary slogans.
But on October 14, when a larger and more aggressive mob of nationalist bands tried to do to the Lenin Monument what the other less effective mob could not do on October 14, with the help of the present Ukrainian regime’s police force, we Communist again gathered in numbers, plus our anti fascist forces gathered and circled the Lenin Monument -.we were ready to shed our blood to defend Lenin!
But noticed by their complete absence in defending the Lenin Monument were the members of Vitrenko’s so-called Progressive Socialist Party – not one of their members showed up to help us defend Lenin against this Ukrainian nationalist-Banderite attempts that was organized with the connivance of the present Ukrainian nationalist regime.
I am writing this in order for you comrades to understand the reality in Ukraine now as to who is who – no matter what “Marxist phrases” they use to fool the people.
But nevertheless in Kiev on November 7th there took place a large demonstration, and according to the official reports, over 5,000 people took part in this Great October Revolution demonstration. Of course not one member and not one socialist flag of Vitrenko’s party was seen.
In spite of the state television at their disposal
plus the state media urging attendance, the nationalists were not able
to bring out many people at all. In one of the photos that I’ve sent
you, you can see the small number if these Ukrainian nationalists that
showed up.
