The character of present-day international situation is not very stable, fraught with many threats and dangers for international peace. Imperialism in spite of the present economic recession, has gained major political positions in launching attacks on progressive forces and their struggles, as well as on countries such as China, Vietnam, North Korea and Cuba.
Naturally, special attention is paid by Imperialism to Russia. The main aim of imperialism is to isolate Russia from the countries of CIS (former Soviet Republics) and then to move the aggressive NATO block as close as possible o its borders, to then weaken Russia, divide it into separate small parts and create conditions for unlimited plundering of its rich resources.
At the same time, USA has been acting and will act and also cooperate hand-in-hand with the Russian regime, in order not to allow a revolutionary uplift in Russia at any cost. This is in order to avert any revival of the Soviet Union. In case such a threat would be on the horizon, US imperialism, with the connivance of the Russian regime, the US will intervene militarily.
NATO continues to expand further into the East – to Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and the Baltic States. The present regimes in Ukraine and Georgia are on the verge of joining NATO. THE US-Japanese military alliance and its sphere of action are spreading into regions of the Far East – South Korea and Taiwan. 37,000 US troops are stationed in South Korea.
Aiming to be the only superpower, the USA is trying to bring about the long-standing dream of American imperialism – to gain world domination. To achieve this dream, it uses NATO and other military blocs, scattered all across the globe, plus economic organizations, such as the International Bank of Reconstruction and Development, the International Monetary Fund and the World Trade Organization.
For advancing these US imperialist plans and the American “national interests” – US promotes, expands and uses the idea of globalization and the forcibly instigating ”human rights violations”, “humanitarian catastrophes” and allowing only “limited sovereignty” to states.
But the most important plan of US imperialism is to re-organize the United Nations Organization – by undermining the unanimity of the Security Council in matters of peace and security. When this is accomplished, it is much easier for US imperialism to take on the function of the world’s policeman and thus interfering in the affairs of UN member states, under the flag of the United Nations and thus using its mechanisms. Even now, NATO does not take into account the UN decisions, as it did in the case of Yugoslavia and in present day Iraq.
The present policy of Putin-Medvedev is just a continuation of the Yeltsin’s regime. The policy of Zyuganov and the CPRF has provided a lot of assistance to the present Russian regime. Those in the Putin-Medvedev regime were the ones who betrayed the Soviet Motherland, and now, under the guise of ”Russian patriots” are occupying the power in the Kremlin.
Our task must be unmask the policies of the present
regime in Russia and in other former Soviet republics – and it is also
to systematically and the works of Lenin and Stalin, in which questions
are dealt with about the struggles against imperialism and
neo-colonialism.
