Warm Greetings from Siberia

Dear representatives of International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People!

We, in “Krasnoyarskaya Gazeta” newspaper editorial office have received the October 2008 issue of “Northstar Compass” magazine and looked it through. Let us to express our genuine gratitude for your work, for your faith in Soviet people, in their future, for that you highly value and appreciate their great past.

Our newspaper, established in 1991, just before USSR collapse, throughout 17 years of functioning, has been fighting for the idea of socialism, for recreation of power of Soviets – power of workers along with peasants. Tactics of this struggle has been altered as time goes by, but the chief aim has remained unchanged: to overthrow capitalism – unjust system of repression and social inequality, and to reconstruct USSR – progressive State of working and oppressed people. Yes, we are not alone in our country; such a political position is shared by millions of citizens in CIS Republics. And it is a special pleasure to know, that we are supported by our friends abroad, to realise, that there are so many like-minded persons all over the world.

“Krasnoyarskaya Gazeta” cooperates with a range of communist, worker and socialist organizations in Krasnoyarsk region, all Russia and CIS, and fulfils a useful function of uniting and organizing various progressive forces. Unfortunately, so far we have not succeeded in overcoming of dissension in the left, although there is a recent definite tendency towards consolidation seen. For example, currently revolutionary communists – СPSU (КПСС) and Russian Communist Workers Party (РКРП) are in the process of consolidation, and Komsomol organizations which adhere to Lenin-Stalin principles are bound to unite. But this process is not as fast as we would desire. From time to time bourgeoisie attempts to frustrate the efforts of communist forces, using all available means in its arsenal– provocations, agents, creation of false parties with socialist rhetoric.

Nevertheless political situation in our country is logically developed, nowdays there are certain parties in support of existing regime and those against the system of bourgeois democracy. The first ones are legalized; the second ones are illegal, as they can not get registered, so those parties are not allowed to take part in voting in elections. So it is not difficult to find out who is together with whom and who is for whom. It seems that authority itself set two political movements separate, now encouraging consolidation of communist-revolutionaries, as there is nothing left for us to argue.

Among the workers in Krasnoyarsk there is almost no chance to find those opposed to the idea of socialism. But, the process of production curtailment is still in progress in the Krasnoyarsk region: machine manufacturing enterprises are stopped, agro-industrial complex is ruined and only mining and processing of mineral resources enterprises somehow function so far. This way enemies of USSR fulfill their plans (Dulles, Thatcher) in real life. According to their plans our country is to become a territory with minimum population just necessary to ensure mining, processing and export of mineral resources. But people anyway believe in a better future, hope, that socialism is not the past, but the future of Russia, believe in USSR restoration. Support of our country’s citizens is very important for us.

Thanks again to "Northstar Compass” magazine editorial team for support of Soviet people, for taking part in struggle for the better future for all world population and the soonest victory of socialism.

We uphold THIS just cause, so we shall overcome!
