Russia Expands Grip on Energy in Latin America

From RIA NOVOSTI PRESS

Russian private oil consortiums are expanding their grip on energy source in Latin America. Russia's private oil consortium is now operating in Venezuela and will soon begin operations in Cuba as well.

As part of a new deal overseen by Russian Deputy Minister Igor Sechin and the Cuban Council of Ministers Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas, a group of Russian oil companies (Gazprom, Rosneft, TNK-BP, Surgutneftgasz and LUKoil) currently working in Venezuela, will begin cooperation on projects with Cuba's state-controlled Cubapetroleo.

This agreement comes following an assessment last year that Cuba – which currently produces 60,000 barrels of oil per day, may have more than 20 billion barrels of crude in its territorial waters. According to the plans drawn up by the Russian consortium, the oil thereby produced is intended for export to China, the US and to Europe.

Lenin's Monument Defaced in St. Petersburg

Last month in Leningrad at the Finland Railway Station a monument to V.I. Lenin that stood there already for 70 years had a large hole carved out of his body. This vandalism is also due to the present policy of the city of St. Petersburg, which promotes anti-Communism and anti-Sovietism.

The Central Committee of the CPSU strongly condemns and protests this vandalism and sacrilege and demands of the City Council quick action to bring to justice these culprits and their political backers.

If these vandals thought that with this action they are going to scare the Communists, they are sorely mistaken. The ideas of Lenin and his monumental likeness cannot ever be obliterated or erased from the minds and memory of the working people!

Financial Crisis Hits the Kremlin Also

From THE GUARDIAN newspaper

The global financial crisis is taking its toll on Kremlin unity, as rival capitalist clans within the Russian government are increasingly struggling for supremacy. The fault line lies between a powerful group of "military and security officials" centered around Prime Minister Putin and the "economic liberals" surrounding President Medvedev.

This tension has been exacerbated by Russia's plummeting economic fortunes. Mr. Putin used to act as an arbiter; standing above the two main power clans – the siloviki and the rational economists – said the Russian economist Dmitry Oreshkin. Now Mr. Putin has been dragged into this fight and he is no longer a mediator, and the struggle between these two powerful business clans is starting to boil over and becoming more scandalous.

Kyrgyz-Tadjik Border Tensions Are Growing

From Eurasianet.org

The tensions between these two former Soviet Republics are being further strained now by demographics and the uncontrolled border. Within this twisting and blurry geography of this tri-border (which also borders Uzbekistan) Kyrgyzstan is feeling threatened by the constant migration of Tadjiks due to terrible economic conditions in all of these former Soviet Republics. The growing outflow of poor Kyrgyz to other countries looking for work, the possibility that the Kyrgyz people might find themselves a minority, or with outside forces promoting this separatism, could lead to violence.

With the economy now in tatters, and with an acute shortage of water, has already flared in violence in March and November of 2008.

These two former Soviet Republics were the economic blooming flowers of the USSR now they are like former Third World countries.

A Ukrainian Deputy Had Divulged Open Secrets

From news-liga.net – Itar-Tass

The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) has accused the head of the Parliamentary Commission that is investigating the supply of weapons from Ukraine to Georgia, headed by Valery Konovalyuk, with breaking the law on state secrets. This secret material has now become public and he is charged with infringement of the law.

These accusations by SBU are nonsensical since they are not secret. Russia and other countries knew that Ukraine sold weapons to Georgia. How? Because after Georgia attacked North Ossetia in 2008 and the Russian forces came in, all of the weapons that they captured were manufactured in Ukraine.

Now it is known that the Ukraine and Russia's military complex are so intertwined that there cannot be any question of sanctions about the arms sale by Ukraine to Georgia.

The defense of both countries and the manufacture of these weapons and exchange of the necessary raw materials are too closely intertwined.

But things are coming slowly to a head. Ukraine's president has discredited himself too much in the eyes of Moscow and the West. The unseemly incident with the natural gas fiasco has proven too much for Europe. News from India press showed that Ukraine has shipped arms to Sri Lanka's Tamil Tigers – and Ukrainian specialists have been training the Tamil Tigers.

President Yushenko is facing political defeats soon; even though he was the darling of the "Orange Revolution", his popular ratings have plummeted. It is becoming more and more difficult for even his very loyal friends in Washington to close their eyes to this.

Council of All-Union Army Veterans of Ukraine

<> We are following the ideology and traditions of the victory of the Great Patriotic War, and are demanding the complete resignation of this present unpopular regime of Ukraine and itspolicy of the "orange revolution" and to call an immediate election.

We demand from the government to bring to justice these Nazi gangs who are on a rampage to demolish every monument that was ever erected during Soviet times. We demand that these Nazi organizations be banned and steps taken to bring these perpetrators to justice.

We demand the unity of Ukraine, Russia, Byelorussia, Kazakhstan and other former Soviet republics in order to get out this economic crisis.

We are against Ukraine becoming part of NATO.

We demand that the Russian language be given an equal status with Ukrainian language as a common unifying force in dealing with our brothers and sisters – our neighbors.

We shall not allow the rewriting of the glorious history of the Soviet People and the USSR by these remnants of collaborators of Nazism who are now demolishing every monument to the Soviet Red Army that liberated Ukraine from German fascism.

We call upon all people of Ukraine to unite our forces and patriots of the Motherland, who never forgot the victory of the Great Patriotic War over fascism – towards future resurrection of the USSR and new victories.

Signs state: Stalin Built the USSR, Putin Is Devastating Russia, Our Home Is USSR!, Down With Capitalism!

They Were Reaching High

By VLADIMIR SHKARUPA

On March 18 of this year, we in Mineralniye Vody came to the V.I. Lenin monument to celebrate the Day of the Paris Commune.

138 years ago, March 18, 1871, the workers of Paris staged an armed uprising and established the short-lived Paris Commune. This was the first proletarian revolution in the world.

The historical significance of the Paris Commune is that they overthrew the bourgeois state and started to take steps to build the first foundation of socialism in order to make the lives of the downtrodden people better.

The Paris Commune armed the working class in order to defend the revolution; it separated the Church from the State; schools from under the thumb of the church; made living conditions better and available to the masses. It started the state ownership of property, abolished estates and regulated the working conditions of the people.

Mankind learned from the Paris Commune, as did the Great October Socialist Revolution. This Paris Commune lasted 72 days before it was drowned in blood. 30,000 Communards were shot to death in a couple of days, 50,000 sentenced to life imprisonment, 14,000 were sent to French colonies to work as slave labour.

It was an unequal struggle and they made mistakes. These first Paris Communards were storming high heaven – stated Karl Marx. They showed to the whole proletariat what could be accomplished when there is unity and purpose!

New Law Being Passed by the Kremlin Will Label Any Criticism of Russia as Treason!

New Russian legislation proposed by President Dmitry Medvedev and backed by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin would allow the Russian authorities to label any criticism of the government as traitorous.

You will not be able to criticize or question the present constitutional order; demonstrate against the present bourgeois regime and it will outlaw opposition protests.

As you can see by this photograph, Medvedev is just a willing puppet of Putin. During 8 years of Putin in power, he rolled back any semblance of Soviet peoples' democracy or the gains of Socialism and has set his eyes on becoming an importer of Western goods and just an exporter of natural resources.

This new law is being pushed through quickly to head off any protests against the financial crisis that has hit Russia very hard.

Question that must be asked is: Where is the unity of all the progressive forces to struggle against this Putin-Medvedev dictatorship?

The picture below resembles the days of the Russian Czars – even the flag on the right would have made the Russian Tsars very happy – while the present Russian flag on the left would have made the Russian Second World War traitor General Vlasov, who fought on the side of Hitler's Nazi Germany, extremely happy.

We wonder whether Gennady Zyuganov, leader of the CPRF (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) will support this new law that these two bourgeois twins are pushing through the Russian Duma?

Crowds Attacked Moldavian Presidents Residence

Last month unruly crowds that were well organized by outside forces tried to start another "Color Revolution" in order to overthrow the duly elected President Vladimir Voronin of the Communist Party of Moldova which won the election with over 50% of the votes.

Many protestors carried flags of Romania and shouted, 'We are Romanians". The demonstrators threw stones and smashed windows and stormed the parliament building in Chisinau. They burned furniture and painted anti-communist slogans on buildings. Police had to use smoke bombs and water cannon to disperse the protestors.

This protest was organized and led by the West-sponsored Liberal Democratic Party. President Vadimir Voronin was reelected twice as President and therefore Western powers and their local-paid stooges want him out of the leadership of the Communist Party of Moldova.

The Growth of Nazi Movement in Russia

From newspapers and e-mail received by NSC.

According to Moscow authorities up to February of this year there were perpetrated 39 racial attacks on non-Russian individuals of whom 16 were killed and 36 were severely injured. This is prevalent not only in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but in Uljanovsk, Razyan, Nizny Novgorod and other cities.

Attacks are against the Uzbeks, Kyrghyz, Vietnamese, African immigrants, Dagestans, Tadjiks, Bangladeshis, Kurds and other minorities. The police authorities do not always give correct number of attacks, killings or mutilations.

Besides the attacks, murders and mutilation of these non-Russians, the epidemic of vandalism is rising faster each month by these unemployed youth that more and more are wearing swastika insignia on their arms and painting swastikas on buildings, monuments and anything that was associated with the Soviet Union. They even desecrate tombstones, historical buildings and churches with slogans such as "Kill all non-Whites!" "White terror!" More and more Swastikas are painted on buildings and other public structures. Signs and slogans such "Glory to the Russian God" appear more and more.

The bombings of monuments, the demolishing of any meeting place of the non-white immigrants are now becoming an epidemic. In front of the Moscow police station these Nazis left a beheaded immigrant from Asia with a sign: "Stop the influx of these non-whites to Moscow."

These are not just random acts by hoodlums; these are well-organized Nazi movements that are well funded and they have their own Web pages on the Internet to propagate this Nazi movement. In Russia to operate your Web Page on the Internet costs about 20,000 rubles plus other expenses.

Without unity of the population and without the resurrection of the Soviet Union Socialism this Nazi-fascist movement will not be stopped and their present financial backers will not be exposed!
