The Council of the Soviet Friendship Society held an important Conference in December of 2009, at which Reports were made by Victor Bourenkov, Vladimir Chechentsev on their work under trying conditions. Viktor Bourenkov gave an extensive report on the work that was done at the Canada-USA-USSR Conference with delegates that took place in the Friendship House in Toronto, Canada

There were successes in establishing two more Branches in Russia and in Ukraine and keeping in constant contacts with members and subscribers to the Russian Edition of NSC. Much discussion took place about the problems of publishing Northstar Compass in Russian.

After the elections took place, Viktor Bourenkov was elected as the new President and Vladimir Chechentsev was elected as Vice President. There will be organized a new Editorial Board of Northstar Compass to undertake to publish every two months and to open up a more efficient subscription drive for readers in all of the former Soviet Republics.

This Conference agreed to do all that is possible to send delegates to the Third World Congress in Santiago, Chile in April of 2011.
