NEWS FROM FORMER USSR

We could not part with Komsomols

By VLADIMIR SHKARUPA

The Communists of the Krivojrog on October 29th near the monument to V.I. Lenin celebrated the 91st Anniversary of the formation of the Communist Union of Youth (Komsomols). We brought with us Red Flags, portrait of Stalin, banners "Komsomol-91", "Our home is USSR!" "Russia will be saved only by Socialism!" and "Stalin repressed only the weenies of the enemies of the people!" We as Communists know that there were no repressions – it was a class struggle!

We recited poems about the Komsomols, and sang Komsomol songs- and the onlookers joined us to sing along and remember the good old days of Socialism and the Soviet Union!

Russia, China, Iran redraw energy map

The recent inauguration of the Dauletabad-Sarakhs-Khangiran gas pipeline connecting Iran's northern Caspian region with Turkmenistan vast gas fields may go unnoticed amid the Western media cacophony that it is "apocalypse" now for the Islamic regime in Tehran.

This event is sending a strong message for regional security. Within three weeks Turkmenistan as committed its entire gas exports to China, Russia and Iran. It has no urgent need of the pipelines that the United States and the European Union have been advancing. Are we hearing the final notes of a Russia-China-Iran symphony? This 182 kilometer Turkmen-Iranian pipeline starts modestly with 20 billion capacities, thus allowing Iran to free its entire production for export. We are now witnessing a new pattern of energy cooperation at the regional level that will do away with the Big Oil.

Will Russia and China cooperate with Iran in 2010 or at least harmonize their constantly competing interests?

The Vanishing Russians

By IRINA MALENKO

Russia is rapidly losing population. Its people succumbing to one of the world's fastest growing AIDS epidemics, resurgent tuberculosis, and also rampant cardiovascular disease, alcohol and drug abuse, smoking, suicide and lethal effects of industrial pollution.

In addition abortions outpaced births last year by more than 100,000. An estimated 10,000,000 Russians of reproductive age are sterile because of botched abortions or very poor health. The public health system is collapsing.

The former USSR, with a population of 300,000,000 people, was the world's third largest populous country, next to China and India. Slightly more than half of its citizens lived in Russia. The country has lost close to 700,000 people each year since the collapse of the USSR in 1991. A country that sprawls across one-eight of the globe is now home to only 142 million people.

These losses have been disproportionately male. During the era of the Soviet Union, people lived almost as long as the Americans. But now, the average Russian man can only expect to live to 59 years of age, 6 years less than the average American male and 14 less than a Russian woman.

Stalin's Grandson Sues a Russian Radio Station

A Moscow radio station said that it is being sued by Stalin's grandson because the station wrongfully dishonored his grandfather. This is the second lawsuit filed by Yevgeny Dzhugashvili.

Radio Echo said that the lawsuit was against Matvei Ganapolsky who said on the radio program that "Stalin had approved the shooting of children as young as 12". After stating that, Ganapolsky then added: "What kind of a bastard would say even a word in Stalin's defense?"

There is a very great movement growing in defense of Stalin who turned the struggling nation into a superpower on its way towards socialism. Of course the present Russian Courts threw the first libel suit out launched by Dzhugashvili last year.

President Yushenko has been getting advice and encouragement from former US President Clinton's campaign strategist – Max Kenn as well as the US-Kiev based high paid office of PBN, a Washington consulting company.

JUNTA  BIG BUSINESS MAGNATE PEOPLE WORK – SHE ROBS!

Jubilee to remember

By VLADIMIR PRONIN

On December 21, 2009 on the initiative of the of the "Inteligencia za Socialism" and the help of the Kiev Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine, Union of Soviet Veterans, there took place a Conference dedicated to the 130th Anniversary of the birth of J.V. Stalin.

Before the Conference started there was the ceremony of giving out Communist Party cards to new members who joined the Party on this historic date.

The speakers gave an outline on the historical contribution that Stalin gave to Socialism and to the Soviet people, his plans that were realized to industrialize the USSR, the national question, and the building of Socialism in the Soviet Union, – a gigantic leap forward for the Soviet people. The great victory over fascism by the Soviet Red Army in 1941-1945 saved the whole world from the black plaque of Fascism.

The speakers spoke about the great significance of Stalin to the study of Marxism-Leninism. At the end of the Conference there was a Resolution adopted unanimously that it is necessary now more than ever before to be very active against the constant falsification of Soviet history and the personality of J.V. Stalin.

A Resolution was also passed on the initiative of Russian and Ukrainian mass organizations to demand that Volgograd become Stalingrad and that monuments to Stalin that were demolished be erected again in their place of honor – and that the European Square in Kiev be renamed the Stalin Square.

The participants appealed to the leadership of the Communist Party of Ukraine to make 2010 the year when the teachings of Lenin and Stalin should be included in all of the school curriculum. A protest should be launched against the proposal of the EU and the regime of Ukraine to equate Communism with Fascism!

The closing remarks were made by the chairman of the Ukraine's people's organization "Ukraine is for Socialism!" on this birthday of Stalin. The danger in Europe is the rise of fascist ideology. This Conference is to honor the gigantic figure of Stalin as well as to honor the great achievements of the Soviet people.

What kind of militia do we need?

By Peter Golovanov of the "Left Front" of Mordovia – AKM, AUCPB, CPSU, RPK and Socialist Party of Mordovia

Before the official Day of the Militia is celebrated, there is a campaign by the people as to what kind of militia do people need. The "Left Front of Mordovia" wants to explain our position on this very important question.

As Dzerzhinsky said during the formation of the USSR: "A militia person must have a cold brain, warm heart and clean hands!" The Soviet militia personnel were together with the people and were in the struggles for the Soviet State and Socialism. They helped to defeat the counter-revolutionaries, bandits, prostitution and all anti-state activities. To be a militia man was looked up to, admired as a defender of the Soviet people.

Unhealthy elements in the Soviet militia were not tolerated – the Militia cleansed itself regularly. They were dedicated to cleanse the society of counter-revolutionary elements, speculators, murderers, narcotic dealers and other anti-people elements.

Now the people have no faith in the present government and its corrupted militia. The "elite" forces who initiated many counter-revolutionary reforms that were put into place during the late 1990s have had the effect that these elements are now impregnated and ruling the militia, the courts, the lawyers and other preset governmental bodies.

They abide lawlessness, robbery, prostitution, narcotics trade and other criminal activities as now in the USA. The present regime has abandoned its so-called "democratic reforms" and shed its mask and is coming to be more and more Nazi orientated.

It is not the members of the rich who are now in the Militia, but the children of the workers. These members must realize as to whom they are defending. There are now more and more militia members who realize their obligation and know the present situation – that their job is to defend the working class from criminals of all ilk, not the exploitive rich ruling class. Everything depends on our work amongst the militia members now. Will this militia be admired and honored by the people, or will they curse them.

Militia must serve the people as Lenin and Felix Dzerzhinsky taught.

Corruption in Russia Has Now Skyrocketed

Wall Street Journal has quoted President Medvedev's office that he has sacked top Moscow police officers following allegations of a abuse of powers and ties to gang operations. Investment schemes and assassinations are being investigated.

The corruption in state ministries in Russia have skyrocketed over the past year, according to a top Russian official as quoted by The Itar-TASS news agency, quoting Deputy Prosecutor General, Alexander Buxmam, who said that corruption had risen over 11% from 2008 to 2009. There are over 38,000 corruption charges being investigated and coming to trial. Taking bribes has risen to 11,800 cases.

There are ready for trial 806 criminal cases of federal officials, 126 cases against heads of top municipalities, 179 cases head of local administrations and many top administration officials.

Russians Nostalgic For the USSR

According to the very latest poll undertaken by the Pravda Levada Center in December of 2009, an absolute majority of people surveyed regretted deeply the USSR's demise as the "greatest catastrophe of the 20th Century!"

As time passes by since the 1990s more and more people are expressing the sane opinion – now standing at over 75%.

There is now expression of great anger at the present Russian regime, not only by the people themselves at the growth of crime and the Mafia cartels inside Russia, but foreign security agencies are demanding that the Russian government extradite these sentenced Russian mob members outside of Russia for trial. The Russian minister responsible stated that there are no Russian Mobsters operating outside or even inside Russia.

This Minister should ask the Russian people – they would set him straight very soon!
