Protesters Demand Return of Soviets!

"Protests took place all over Russia in their thousands and the mood was of anger and demands such as 'back wages,' 'end to Boris Yeltsin's presidency,' and 'return back to Soviet Union.'

In rallies from Moscow to Vladivostok, the Soviet people expressed their dissatisfaction with life in their post-communist country."

"In Moscow, separate protests by trade unions, communists and ultra-nationalists converged on the White House. 'Soviet power is what the whole world needs' were the cries of the protesters. Foreign correspondents while interviewing the marches heard these words repeated over and over again: 'Yeltsin is a monster. Who supports him? America, Israel, Germany?'

Victor Anpilov stated that: 'What we need is Soviet power!' Gennady Zyuganov drew cheers from the crowd when he called for Yeltsin's resignation. Zyuganov also stated that: 'We will not vote for Kiriyenko, the proposed new Prime Minister!'

It is estimated that the workers of Russia alone are owed back wages to the tune of 4 billion.

New on the scene were the young demonstrators of 'Russia's National Bolshevik Party.'"

Our Comment:

We're certain that all of our readers welcome this growing protest that is gathering steam and sooner than later, these protests shall culminate in the overthrow of the present regime. It is also a good sign to see that the majority of these protests are very heavily composed of young people.

It seems that as more time passes by since the disintegration of the Soviet Union, more and more left-wing, patriotic, communist, nationalists and peoples movements come on the scene into this boiling pot that is now the former Soviet Union.

Having received news from Moscow about these various movements and trying to analyze and put into perspective their composition and potential, we must admit that in one way, we are a bit perturbed, until we get more in-depth analysis of the new young movement that seemed to spring up all of a sudden, that being the "Russian National Bolshevik Party".

True Communists and Patriots should disengage themselves from any nationalist fringe or patriotic (quasi fascist) movements, even if they do carry the red flag.

Who Are These National Bolsheviks?

Bolsheviks in their glorious history always stood for Internationalism and struggled against nationalism. You cannot be a Bolshevik and at the same time, be a nationalist!

Another point that we're certain that our readers shall ask themselves: "Is this not the perfect opportunity for Communists of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, which is the majority block in the Russian Duma (parliament) to do all in their power to not ratify the proposed candidate for Prime Minister, Kiriyenko?

Yeltsin, with his dictatorial power that unfortunately was given to him by the CPRF Duma members when they voted for the ratification of the Constitution, is threatening that he will dissolve the Duma if the Duma rejects his proposed candidate 3 times for the Prime Minister.

If Zyuganov is really committed to resurrecting the Soviet Union, if he is committed to socialism and to getting rid of the present regime that is being propped up by the West and the Transnational Corporations ... then he should call upon the Soviet people as Lenin and Stalin did to go into the streets and throw this regime into the dustbin of history!

Will Zyuganov find the courage and dedication to do this? Or will he again back down from the final confrontation as he and the leadership of CPRF did too many times before?
