March On Moscow Took Place!

From August 14-22, 1998 there took place March On Moscow for the USSR. The initiator of this March On Moscow was "Workers Russia."

Marching on Moscow were columns from Samara, Rostov and Kaluga plus Smolensk and Leningrad.

Into these cities there came representatives who were chosen/elected by trade unions, strike committees in Ukraine and Byelorussia, Latvia, Crimea and Lithuania, Moldavia, North Ossetia, Predniester Republic and Tadzhikistan. There were also representatives from 48 regions of Russia.

The columns of the marchers went through 154 cities and towns and in 80 cities they held mass meetings with workers and farmers. Resolutions were adopted, demanding that the present governments be put on trial for the liquidation of the USSR, and for the re-establishment of the Soviet Union.

On August 21, all columns met and converged at the crossroads of the Moscow Golden Circle and Simferopol highway. There the flag of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was raised.

In this March On Moscow there were many young people and young Pioneers.

On August 22 in front of the House of Representatives of Russian Parliament (Duma) there took place a Peoples Assembly of many thousands of representatives which adopted a resolution to elect delegates for the upcoming meeting in December of the Supreme Peoples Assembly from all regions.

The official Yeltsin media and propaganda tried to keep quiet and not to report on this mass demonstration in the press, radio or TV, especially about the mass attendance at the Mass Assembly Meeting in Moscow.

Only one program on TV hysterically appealed to the people not to come into the streets because the "Red and brown fascists are marching!"

But you cannot hide the truth! All over Russia there were repercussions from this March On Moscow!

We gathered and assembled thousands of sympathizers and participants. We were joined by young people at meetings in different cities and towns. We appeal to the readers of Northstar Compass to tell the truth about this March On Moscow!
