This news item hit every capitalist newspaper, radio station and TV all over the world! Was it such a surprise? Was this not expected? Are we to believe that this is just another act of random, uncontrollable vodka-saturated Boris Yeltsin?
This is hardly unexpected!
Up to the time of the printing of NSC there is nothing but "praise" by USA, CIA and Pentagon of the appointment of Vladimir Putin as the new Prime Minister. Stories are circulating that the US State Department had already dealings with Mr. Putin. We wonder when? Did the Russian Security Agency have close ties with the CIA? Of course they did. The mastermind behind this latest so-called "shake up" is the CIA and US Foreign Policy Administration.
US Imperialism knows that it must shuffle personalities in order to present Boris Yeltsin in a good light, since the Duma elections are coming in December of this year, while the Presidential elections are scheduled for July of the year 2000. Knowing full well that Yeltsin's present acceptability amongst the Russian people is at an all-time low and knowing that there are different contenders for the presidency (which are backed by different internal and external moneybags) Yeltsin in this move has hand-picked a potential successor whose hands are going to be promoted before the election as "clean" and the media moguls of New York's Madison Advertising Image Makers shall be hired to make Putin appear holier than "Virgin Mary!
What About The CPRF?
What is really revolting is the statements that were made by these two "communists", members of the Duma and leaders of the Communist Party of the Russian federation, after the news of the sacking of Sergei Stepashin and the elevation of Vladimir Putin.
* Saveliev, the CPRF member and right-hand man to Zyuganov made a statement that: "Of course Mr. Yeltsin has the right to do this.!" Mr. Saveliev is the SPEAKER of the Duma which has 450 seats and he has clout in the workings of the Duma. But... as the Yeltsin's entourage stated and it seems that it is the truth: "The Duma will approve Putin since they do not want to lose their cushy jobs and rock the boat before the December Duma elections!".
~Gennady Zyuganov, leader of the CPRF and member of the Duma just had this to say to foreign correspondents: "Who will take any prime minister seriously, if they are changed like gloves?"
In another statement Gennady Zyuganov of the CPRF said: "We must keep the country from falling apart, safe from war and from starvation. He also allowed his Communist Duma members to vote as they liked. The result was that Mr.Putin was approved by a vote of 233-84. This meant that more than 85% of the CPRF Duma members voted or the hand-picked Prime Minister, a devoted servant of Yeltsin and also a future candidate for the President of Russia in the election of July of 2000!
Yeltsin and Putin are now surrounded by the present anti-Soviet security personnel, who wormed themselves into the former KGB and awaited their chance to help dismember the Soviet Union. Stalin warned the CPSU and fought until his death against this internal security Fifth Column.A question begs to be asked: "Why is the CPRF leadership afraid of rejecting Vladimir Putin? Gennady Zyuganov said "we must avoid an early election." Why? Why not combine the anti-Yeltsin forces as was proposed by the RCWP and Victor Anpilov's bloc, plus others who see the real necessity to forget about personal ambitions and the cushy Duma jobs. Another question... "why didn't the CPRF members at least abstain from voting for Putin?"
